The fact that Polaris is all about reminiscing and waiting for someone and it was right before Handong left for China makes this song hit even harder. When they came to London I teared up when they performed this (with an almost life-sized Handong cut out on stage). They were so emotional when Handong's voice played out on the speakers and the song just hit harder
I would have been a puddle of tears if I was there for that 😭
Silent night's actual title is one more time , you gotta watch the concert version to understand.

Their World Tour 2022 Seoul concert was the moment Silent Night levelled up in the mythology of Dreamcatcher.
The intro makes so much sense when you think of Silent Night xD The intro is a warning, you think you're surprised? AH! Have Silent Night.

Thank you again for your reaction. It's so very interesting to see you go through their entire discography. I got into Dreamcatcher around the time of Odd Eye, so there is a large swath of their material that I didn't hear in chronological order.
I admire your restraint to go through their work the way you do. It makes me a bit envious of your process. I wish I could do it all over again.
I feel this is such a pivotal album. Of course it has the blockbuster fan favorite Deja Vu, but Curse of the Spider and Silent Night have become such an intergral part of their live set, where the end of Silent Night has been extended to a staggering 10 minutes at some venues.
Hopefully I will take the steps to go watch them some day. I have procrastinated in that area too much.

I feel that, with this album, they are discovering their voices and trying new things and approaches...
About Polaris, Dami once mentioned that this song meant a lot for her and, if I am not mistaken, she used to think about Handong, because she left shortly after this album. So, whenever I'm listening to it, I feel kind of sad thinking about how they missed each other and the line "keep memories for each other" makes so much sense that I am just glad that they were able to actually share those memories.
I am excited to see you go through "Dystopia" storyline. Prepare yourself, because they will be coming for your throat!
And you will become even more of an insomnia!
The only bad thing about it is that Handong is missing on the first two songs. But we have great mvs, songs, vocals, instrumentals, and SELFMADE MVs (with a SuA choreo on my favorite song ever)

Also Polaris was the first song that make dreamcatcher cry (on stage). We know Handong left after the release of this EP, then they had concert, performing the song, with the lines and meanings, and Handong's voice, but Handong wasn't there.
That Polaris stage is at the top list of the things that I still can't hold tears while rewatching, alongside Dreamcatcher Mind ep 6

Polaris is the name of the North Star, around which all the other stars in the Northern hemisphere appear to revolve. The song acts as a common point of reference so that DC and Insomnias can be together even separated by time and space.

I'm glad you put the notes acknowledging the danger you didn't fully realize the intro was prepping you for with silent night 😂 truly a smack in the face first listen. I can remember pretty vividly my first reaction back when it first came out because i'm very sensitive to tempo changes like the one leading into the drop, mainly just because i don't hear a lot of songs do it. I'm not typically a pause and repeat person (during the first listen, after one listen it's 'repeat tiny little sections over and over' time) but silent night GOT me. jaw dropped and i remember sitting there conducting to myself to figure out just how the tempo slowly changes before BAM the drop. then absolutely blowing up my fellow somnie friends' DMs about it lmao. others have mentioned how it's become a concert staple but i have to agree. i haven't experienced the mega silent nights that happened the last tour (sometimes repeating the party at the end like 7 times or so) but i can tell you from when i have experienced it, it is incredible. lightsticks all flashing red in sync, stage lights flashing, bass booming, the members jumping, the crowd jumping, "hey! hey! HEY! HEY!" on the beat... immaculate (no matter how hot that venue was and that i possibly was sweating the most i ever have sdkjkdjsf)
curse of the spider definitely another fun one, there isn't an actual special clip for it like the others unfortunately BUT there is a self made MV!! they played it as a VCR at some event, a concert or something, and there's a pretty good recording of it on youtube despite it being a fancam of a screen. very much worth checking out on your own time if you don't react to it, it's hilarious as their self mades always are! (tho if you DID want to react.. could always pair it with the concert version and/or watching dreamcatcher and fans try to survive their 8th silent night drop in a row at a concert lmao) (side note let me put it this way... there was a concert video of sua.... SUA... being too worn out and saying "no more" or sumn along those lines to a crowd that said "one more time" again during one of those silent night performances 🤣🤣)
ngl i had to tap out for polaris cuz that song still makes me emotional whenever i listen to it. too tied to the memories of the tour they did without handong. fan events involved banners about sticking with dreamcatcher held up when this song played, and so many stops had handong cutouts/posters/etc that inevitably made their way on stage for the members to hold up while singing and play around with and such. beautiful song made more so by those memories in a way but i'm just not in a state for it tonight lol. thank you for your reaction! I always love how into it you get and how you dive into both the sound and the meaning of each. had me smiling all the way through as you experienced this rollercoaster of an album

Curse of the spider track more like tribute song to their previous 'Nightmare Series', it's time to move on to a new Era (Dystopia Era)..The bridge part of this track kinda easter egg to their 'Breaking Out' intro.
Even though the Nightmare arc is over, that only pertains to their mv's/title tracks imo. I mean, it's pretty hard not to connect a song with a title like "Curse of the Spider" to the story, right?

@AntiSocialPlanet there are people who even connect the Dystopia and Apocalypse trilogies to the Nightmare arc 😬 Heck, they even connect the stand-alone, game-based songs Deja Vu and R.o.S.E. Blue to it 🫣 So, I think you're still fine 😋
