Practice slow at the beginning, as slow as you're really sure you're aware of every move you make. Then speed up a little, but never more then to the moment when you've lost a feeling of being aware of every move you do. Some people try to play too fast at the beginning of learning, being too tense in muscles, and they do mistakes/play not clean because of that, and because they are not aware of what they do.
