I have now installed 15 of these decoders in my Diesel fleet and more are being up graded.
I have found to calibrate a Tsunami 2 easier than the WOW TCS Sound decoders which have the audible instructions.
With the Tsunami2 decoder every thing is done with that 1 unit being diesel or steam. All the sensitivity is done as to the locomotive, which in fact is more prototypical as every engine performs differently regardless of how many cars it is pulling.
With the WOW TCS Sound decoder, to have the sensitivity calibrated, the step here is to place 1 or more cars to calibrate the final step. If one is replacing multiple decoders in a period of time, you will have to remember which car you used to do this calibration, otherwise it will end up being all over the place.
The attack and release time helps quite a bit, and thank you for explaining and showing how to set this up.

Great video! I was curious how well this would work with MU consists. With the level of adjustability, it really seems like you could run multiple units and have them notch up/down in unison given that they're well matched. Very helpful, thanks!

Hello, i just bought a Athearn Genesis GP7 with factory equipped Tusnami2 sound. Will I have to Calibrate the Auto Throttle, or is it calibrated out of the box for the Auto Throttle to properly work?
I believe you are referring to the Dynamic Digital Exhaust as ‘Auto Throttle’. You will need to do the calibration yourself. With mass-produced models, there will be some variances in the motor, so if they asked it to be set out of the package, you might not get the best experience without calibration to the specific model, so we decided (with Athearn) to leave the DDE Calibration to the end user. @SoundtraxxDCC Yes, I actually just received my Athearn Genesis GP7 (ATHG82720). I was able to go into CV114 and disable auto start. However I can't seem to manually start up or shutdown the prime mover on my NCE Powercab. I tried calling the number you provided but a voice said that my call can not be completed.
Can this be done with the loco on stationary rollers?
It can be, but the calibration will not be as accurate on rollers. The rollers will cause some resistance that will effect the process. Flat level track is better, but if you don't have the space to do it rollers is an option.
My DCC Cab Control system from ESU does not support programing on the main !!! How can I set up the dozen plus Tsunami 2 decoders that I have for DDE?

i have to do something else, my speed step 20 is almost full throttle, my nce tops out at 28.

Can you please show how to use the power cab throttle to get to those index functions using inset box so we can see which buttons to use on the power cab?
Donald - To get to those index values, all you have to do on the powercab is to change the CV32 to 2 - then you will have access to all the CVs in index 2
