Brother I appreciate this work but as a brother in Christ, and as scripture tells me I must do. I rebuke you sternly for such harsh and coarse language, the cuss word at 5:05 we as Christians must be set apart from the world as much as possible. Even in speech. Now, I say this because you might not know it. But we ate called to being seprate from the world. Let us not speak in such ways, only use speech that is useful for building up and edifying the church, as well as words that are acceptable to Christ. Love you brother keep striving for the Glory of Christ, but, be weary of the world and its clever devices. Be careful to not let the water of the polluted waves fill your vessel, it is good for a ship to be out in the sea, but for the sea to be in the ship is the beginning of tragedies. So be careful and avoid what you may listen to that may seep such words into your heart. Music or the people around. You cannot fully distance from the world for this is sin also. And I understand you may live with family that uses filthy language as I but these are no excuse. Glorify Christ and may you The Lord sanctify you completely. May the grace and peace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you always. Amen.

Thank you for putting this comment down. I had no idea ‘piss’ was considered a cuss word and said it in ignorance. I’ll be sure to change the way I speak and I wanted to pin this so everyone knows and can learn from my mistake.

@@orlando-kang It's not that it's a "cuss word," it's that it's unclean language unbefitting of a child of God.
(I also still struggle with this and am going through reworking my entire vocabulary common vocabulary as such)
May the grace of Jesus be with you.

@Orlando-Kang I am happy the Lord allowed me to aid you brother. I look forward to your next videos! Soli Deo Gloria, and again, may the Lord Christ Jesus's love, mercy, snd grace be with you always! And may the strength of the Spirit be present continually, and may God bless your ministry for The glory and extolling of His precious and thrice Holy name! May it be done to edify His blood-bought children and build His bride (the church) up, may His glorious Gospel be presented to all, and may you grow mightily and strongly In the faith and scriptures of God. Love you brother! Never stop pressing on the pilgrims trail, and never, especially, ever forget the mercy, love, and beutiful all sufficient sacrifice on the Cross, the reseruction of He, Christ Jesus, never forget that His, His grace, His love, through faith alone in Him by His grand and merciful work is what saves you and that His grace keeps you, His spirit that seals you, always cling to Christ brother, never look to anything else even your own works.
Glory to God, and goodnight. Rest well, and labor hard for God's glory alone
(My pen name)- Fugent Garretiano Calvinus,
P.s. Remember always from 2nd Timothy 2:13, Christ is always faithful, even when we are faithless.
As I love to say, in latin, "Ad Semper Fidelis Lesus Est Christus."

@@ReedemedServantOfChristJesuswhat words should've he use instead of 'pissed of'? English is not my native and I've never seen the expression 'pissed of' as a cuss or any other bad word 'unfit for christian vocabulary.

    • @ReedemedServantOfChristJesus
      @ReedemedServantOfChristJesus 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

@EjnarRaidriar neat, I wonder which language is your primary? well, there are ceirtantly many words. I suggest buying a thesaurus, I use the Rogets Super Thesaurus and also the Oxfords Writers Thesarus for writing, sermons, or studies/vocabulary. Here are some words:
Angry, mad, enraged, infuriated, indignant, vexed, fuming, wrath/wrathful, livid, volcanic, furious, irked, seething, heated, and ciertantly more.
The word itself that was used is a crude term. I'm aware if you say it frequently in front of church group it will quickly illicit a response that is most unfavorable. Most importantly, the scriptures point to a pure and clean speech. One that is not rough, coarse, rude, or vulgar. Now we are not perfect, that's why we need the grace and mercy of God and Jesus Christ, but we must strive for purity in every way, from physical purity (abuse or unlawful use of the gifts of God) , to mental purity, to vocal purity. What I'm getting at is as I said to our brother. We must use speech that is to edify and build up the church, to glorify God in all ways. If my speech is rough and crude then how can I glorify God with my speech? I'm not saying we must speak like scholars or as scribes and wise men but I propose to abstain from speech that is unglorifying to God in general, speech that doesn't help, that doesn't build up or help the church nor does it help seperate you from the world. We shouldn't talk like or act like the world. We are saved from the world's destruction and end because of Christ, why should we return to Egypt? (a biblical picture of bondage if you are unaware).
So in short, we shouldn't have any language unhelpful for the church, not laced with salt, and we shouldn't have speech that brings no glory to God. And lastly, yes that specific word is considered a cuss word.
I hope you have a wonderful day and I helped :) love you and have a great day, glorify God in all ways!

We all were blind brother. We all were. I denounced God once claiming “Everything I had was because of me.” Etc. I ventured into other religions and my life went downhill and I eventually lost everything even my marriage was almost lost…. I was broken, depressed, crippling anxiety, suicidal thoughts… I gave up… I came back to God on my knees one day saying if he was real… Show me and I’ll do anything he ask. He restored my heart, cleansed me of depression, crippling anxiety, etc. And filled me with PEACE, Joy, etc. Right there and then! Overtime, my wife saw the change in me and my marriage became restored better than it ever was! I’m making big changes, such as moving on our own and having Jobs that pays more than I ever had before. Even in the amidst of chaos, I trust in God. I believe he pulled me closer to him and put me through my trial.
I don’t know how to get other non-believers to believe my testimony but this is what actually happened to me. It was so beyond my understanding but I realized he’s always been there..

    Things i picked out
    1. We are all really God's babies and granted so, he has soo much more wisdom and experience than we can imagine.
    2. We need to work on our empathy toward one another in the body of Christ and for those who still haven't found their faith in Jesus.
    3. We should remember at all times that we were saved by grace and should never condemn others who maybe haven't come to that knowledge yet.
    4. We are sons of God, joint heirs with Jesus, let's live like we know it.

How timely. I can’t remember why I picked up my tablet but literally not too long I saw something that made my blood boil. I was just speaking with God about it when I saw this video and was prompted to watch it. I wouldn’t go into details but like Jonah I felt so much disdain (yet awe) at God’s mercy, patience and love especially at the memory that many years back I did something similar as this person when I did not know my right hand from my left. God was in His right to judge me too, but He showed His kindness instead. It’s strange a resentful side of me wants God to strike me too, just to be even, but I don’t think that was God’s intention with this. Thanks for posting this now, given me a lot to think about.

The book of Jonah really opens up when you start reading it as a dark comedy about the state of Israeli religiosity leading up to the Assyrian and Babylonian exiles. Ninevah being the capital of Assyria, Jonah's reaction is the expected one when commanded to warn one's own, quite dangerous enemy that God has it in for them.
The next thing to notice is that everyone except Jonah behaves toward God in the way we ought to expect an Israelite to. The mariners offer sacrifice to God and pledge obedience to him even after the danger is avoided. Ninevah repents at once when told of God's coming wrath, a profound contrast to how Israel treated its prophets. This is an ironic parody of Israel's hard-heartedness at the time, that even the worst people around, the Assyrians, make for better Israelites than the Israelites.
The final thing to notice is how blown out of proportion the world is. There's a big fish. The city of Nineveh is so big that it takes a three day journey to get through (not a feasible size in the ancient world). Then, when Jonah gives the worst sermon in history, everyone repents harder than any people have ever repented. It's so over the top, that the king even requires livestock to fast! This is pure, overthetop silliness, and that's the point. Nineveh doesn't even know their right from their left, but they still know well enough to know when they're in trouble and how to fix it. How stupid must Israel be not to respond likewise when God's wrath is threatened against them?
The end always seemed strange to me. Why does God mention the cattle? If you read it as a comedy, it functions like a callback to a joke made earlier, like in modern day standup routines. Because the idea of cattle fasting and praying is funny, the end is meant to double down on the joke to both call it back into the mind of the reader and to add another layer: God actually considered the fasting of the cattle, and he says that this was part of the reason he withheld his wrath!

This so an important episode, thanks!
Most probably Jonah said this prayer from a parallel reality as his body was in semi-digested form at that time. For there have never been an eating tract of an animal providing oxygen and absence of digestive ferments to survive at least an hour. He was dead - it’s incredible but possible, and in this light it is more similar to Christ’s soulless body. Thats why Jesus referred to Jonah’s story!

Great video. 🙂 But I think it is important for us to know what I read in a Catholic commentary (I am not Catholic though), namely that the Book of Jonah was not written as a historical book. It was written as a fictional satire, and read as a fictional satire by the Jews, not as a "true" story of someone swallowed by a fish or a whale. Still, the Sign of Jonah that Jesus mentioned still works even if it is fictional.

Why did the commentary say that Jonah's story is fictional?

@@dahliaherrod4301 I don't know but it took it as a fact. I have also seen a Christian educational video in Hungarian, it also talked about this book as being fictional. I suppose it is widely accepted that it is fictional, or is it not?

@@andrasifj.laszlovszky5707 I've never heard of it being fictional. Maybe it is an allegory but I'd want more evidence to support that theory. Most of the Bible is NOT allegorical so why assume that Jonah is?

@@dahliaherrod4301 I think the opposite, most of the Bible is allegorical even if the events are true. The true events make allegory. But sadly, I don't know the background of this. Maybe once, I will find a good presentation about it.

Orlando, like Ecclesiastes, great stuff. Warning! Work on your need to make up for not doing enough for God in the past. Next time you hear it say, "Be gone in Jesus name." Say it every day if you need to. Don't fall into the trap of doing too much.

@@vonmusel6158 We are going to have to agree to disagree because I believe God's word the Holy Bible is the authority and not supposedly holy men. If these things are so why doesn't the Bible say it? It says the crowd supposed he was dead. Not every one has to be killed and resurrected exactly like Jesus. His death paid for the sins of Paul and Jonah. When Jesus likens himself to Jonah he said " just as Jonah was 3 days and 3 nights in the the belly of the great fish so the Son of man will be 3 days and 3 nights in the heart of the earth" the similarity is the 3 days and nights. The difference is Jesus was in the grave IE he was dead. Jonah was not in the grave he was in a fish which FYI is not the grave.
You cannot praise God when you are dead so why can you pray. This is pergatory I assume. Which is not in the Bible.
The dead do not praise the LORD, nor do any who go down into silence. Ps115:17
Read your Bible. "Jesus came into the world to save sinners of whom I am the worst" Saint Paul. (1 Timothy 1.15)
