As someone who is going through something very similar, I get how it feels to hate your own passion, and the dumpster fire of mental health issues too. Someone once told me that, whatever fire you have in your live, just don't forget to bring the s'mores. Meaning, no matter how bad this part of life has become, don't let that stop you from making the best of it. Don't do something bc you feel like there are people expecting it from you, do it (whatever that thing may be) because you want to, and bc it brings you joy. honestly such a great track. i'm sorry to hear about your struggles but really you should be taking it way easier. i really understand what you said about making your work perfect but you just need to accept the fact that it never will be! the musicality of a track is WAY WAY more important than the mix&master, and really it's main purpose should be just to make your tracks enjoyable (not perfect!!). of course you shouldn't force yourself but you should try to just take it easy and make whatever you enjoy. i've been through the exact same thing and it's just not worth it to care that much :) if you ever wanna talk about it or make a track together i'm always down!
Idk what's people's "enjoyable" standard, I always think that their standard is just for it to be super mega impressive with very good quality, which depends of the mix

Well for what it's worth I am quite glad you posted this. The song is pretty good, really good even, but honestly the description just adds to the enjoyment and takes it up a notch. I think everyone gets that feeling of dread and self-doubt when they get close to taking that first step in anything. Hobby or career. Most people step back from that. You didn't. And from that decision, you created something that other people got to enjoy. Being a creator is such a difficult thing to be, it's why being an artist takes work. This song...it didn't exist before you put in the time and effort to make it happen. That's pretty damn cool. Even if you don't make another one and decide to go on to other things, you made this. So whatever you decide, thank you for making this, I very much enjoyed it.

Because at the end of the day most people won't even notice the difference. yes, I really need to think more about whether I really want to do it or not; or if this is truly my passion; music production is fun and all until you pause for a little bit and realize how shitty it sounds comparing to how it sounds in your head or the other's songs. And this feeling of realization or whatever just keeps sticking for around 2 years already, and with each started project I get more and more discouraged and this feeling is also convincing me slowly that whatever I'm doing is just pointless, because I always can't get things sound right no matter how many sleepless hours I spend trying to figure out my mistakes or learning more about it (comparing myself with others is just another "salt to the wound" thing resulting from my low self-esteem and low self-confidence). absolute banger, I really like the compressed piano, gives it a sort of dance vibe and a real nice variation. I spent a lot more years in music production, countless of sleepless nights and projects, one over another, I can't even count how many projects I have since my first one in 2016, i was supposed to be able to do more instead of getting the quality good "out of luck", even these days I'm trying to get good quality or an idea but it feels like only this song had this "one lucky" moment where I nailed all the mixing, mastering, growls, drums, and cover art, I can't bring myself to do smth even better than this, cuz THIS is beyond by music production skills, trust me, I'm not as good as you think I am, you could always close your eyes and flip a knob, and it will suddenly sound good with you clueless what you did for it to sound good (no, i can't go in the project and analyze what i did, i tried but there aren't any secret effects in there so its even more confusing cuz of that) so think of that this way. Where do I want to go with this? Well, to sum it up, my skills aren't good, and it feels like I need an eternity to understand how music production works, cuz 7 months of practicing drums didn't help me at all, I still suck at doing them till this very day, and in this track only, I got lucky with everything somehow. P.S (After reading description) Being someone who fiddles around with DAW myself, I can't say I haven't had the thought of dropping music all together before because life gets busy.. Things change and it all just moves fast.. I can't blame you for thinking your music sounds bad, I think my stuff sounds like garbage and haven't posted in over 6 years but I can confidently say this track is better then anything I could ever dream of making. The flow of the musical theory, the build, your side chaining (Crisp af I might add) and the vocal 1 shots accompanied by a patch that goes with the melody is tight. Nothing about your sound design is clunky, I think you need to give yourself more credit for your hard work. If I could say one thing that could reach you from my message is that nothing ever goes as planned, sometimes you have to be willing to let go of your anchor to let the flow of life take you. It takes courage and is scary but that is what makes us stronger.

Reading the description reminds me a lot of myself, except through all the stress you completed this amazing track, I usually just give up and leave my projects to collect dust. Amazing track! I've read the description and I'd like to state that mixing and mastering really doesn't matter in music production. I'm a mixing and mastering engineer and I've mixed for many artists, but I don't pay too much attention to my own solo self-released songs because it's a pain to write and produce your music, THEN have to mix and master it and having to worry about not undoing your creative work after trying to get it to sound as professional as possible. It's best to just make it good enough and no extra. Also this track exceeds good enough, in fact, it's what i'll describe as perfect!

Additionally I read the description, I feel you I've been there before, I don't do music production but I've felt the same, seeing people better was demotivating but I'd have to say if you truly want to stick to, the best thing to do is surround yourself with people that are doing the same thing you want to do, and try not to get down too bad, everyone has different talents and regardless of whether you're "untalented" or not doesn't matter eventually if you keep doing it and don't give up, one day it will just click everything you struggled with will just make sense now and you'll have that experience of being stuck and getting out of it that can stop more "talented" people from moving forward. I'd also say finding something to help when you are down is a necessity, whether that be walking, meditating reading a book, something to help you totally reset will help lots.

Your stuff is amazing in my eyes. I've always found it very hard to find someone that makes this type of music. It sounds different to me compared to other edm genre's. I don't think a hobby/job or whatever you do that you don't have to should stress you into a corner and force you into a depressed state. Be proud of what you've accomplished in the music department and seek out what you're really looking for. For me I'm working at a warehouse rn making pretty dang good money but starting next year imma be going to school to get a degree in Education of Mathematics to teach at a highschool level, which I would be making about half of what I make right now but hey that's what I really want to do with my life haha. Spread your wings a bit friend, see what there is and then decide whether or not you want to truly go into making music~

Since u made the sad description i thought i would give my own opinion if ur still there to hear about it, but yeah ofc take with a grain of salt what you feel is right for you its only up to u. First i do have to say that u have talent, and the potencial,i do feel a lot the same as u(abt comparing myself to others), i was before a little interested in mixing but then quit, due to not being used it, making melodies and all always sounding weird xp, also drawing i like it a lot, but never invested into art, rather am to something else now. About the song i like a lot the first few accords they sound great, when i first heard i was blown away, but the rest of the track appeared compressed, with a bit missing impact and sounding mushie and bit melted together(bass, drums and treble.. etc), the music itself fine though, ik you are not experienced with this and i am not gonna push you on that, but my suggestion would be to consider a bit more how you sample the tracks to sound more hifi-ish or perhaps could try to make the intruments/music overall stand out more. Your artwork in this track is really great drawn too, i like it, the waifu reassemble rachel from angel of death anime in my point of view, but still unique, (can't talk much about it). Well here's muh take, mb just work hard enough and try to ignore about the others more, do your own thing! That way you might reach ur own path to sucess, if not money, perhaps some happiness a goal in life.

I only heard this track from you but I can easily say you're super talented and, no need to compare with others, just listen their works to get inspired, there is no competition. If you take a long time to produce that's normal, we all have our own rhythms. Yours will probably accelerate with the time, if you keep try new things, reproduce them, and learn from it. Don't hesitate to take breaks, even stop the production of a track to start another, you'll go back to the first automatically later, confident. I know that can be a hard thing to do, for me it is at least, I don't like non finished work. But if you start to get mad alone that's the best thing to do. You won't lose anything important by doing that. yes, I really need to think more about whether I really want to do it or not; or if this is truly my passion; music production is fun and all until you pause for a little bit and realize how shitty it sounds comparing to how it sounds in your head or the other's songs. And this feeling of realization or whatever just keeps sticking for around 2 years already, and with each started project I get more and more discouraged and this feeling is also convincing me slowly that whatever I'm doing is just pointless, because I always can't get things sound right no matter how many sleepless hours I spend trying to figure out my mistakes or learning more about it (comparing myself with others is just another "salt to the wound" thing resulting from my low self-esteem and low self-confidence).

Yes, I generally compare with artists, but MOSTLY I compare with those who I know that started a while ago (1 or 2 years ago) and have a better quality and better ideas than I could ever want to achieve, people just go CRAZY about their each songs and they are noticed by labels and accepted by them, while I have to be rejected with this very song. I spent a lot more years in music production, countless of sleepless nights and projects, one over another, I can't even count how many projects I have since my first one in 2016, i was supposed to be able to do more instead of getting the quality good "out of luck", even these days I'm trying to get good quality or an idea but it feels like only this song had this "one lucky" moment where I nailed all the mixing, mastering, growls, drums, and cover art, I can't bring myself to do smth even better than this, cuz THIS is beyond by music production skills, trust me, I'm not as good as you think I am, you could always close your eyes and flip a knob, and it will suddenly sound good with you clueless what you did for it to sound good (no, i can't go in the project and analyze what i did, i tried but there aren't any secret effects in there so its even more confusing cuz of that) so think of that this way. Where do I want to go with this? Well, to sum it up, my skills aren't good, and it feels like I need an eternity to understand how music production works, cuz 7 months of practicing drums didn't help me at all, I still suck at doing them till this very day, and in this track only, I got lucky with everything somehow. (the planets must have aligned in some far away galaxy idfk)

Being someone who fiddles around with DAW myself, I can't say I haven't had the thought of dropping music all together before because life gets busy..
Things change and it all just moves fast.. I can't blame you for thinking your music sounds bad, I think my stuff sounds like garbage and haven't posted in over 6 years but I can confidently say this track is better then anything I could ever dream of making.
The flow of the musical theory, the build, your side chaining (Crisp af I might add) and the vocal 1 shots accompanied by a patch that goes with the melody is tight.
Nothing about your sound design is clunky, I think you need to give yourself more credit for your hard work.
If I could say one thing that could reach you from my message is that nothing ever goes as planned, sometimes you have to be willing to let go of your anchor to let the flow of life take you.

I've read the description and I'd like to state that mixing and mastering really doesn't matter in music production.
I'm a mixing and mastering engineer and I've mixed for many artists, but I don't pay too much attention to my own solo self-released songs because it's a pain to write and produce your music, THEN have to mix and master it and having to worry about not undoing your creative work after trying to get it to sound as professional as possible. It's best to just make it good enough and no extra. Also this track exceeds good enough, in fact, it's what i'll describe as perfect!

Additionally I read the description, I feel you I've been there before, I don't do music production but I've felt the same, seeing people better was demotivating but I'd have to say if you truly want to stick to, the best thing to do is surround yourself with people that are doing the same thing you want to do, and try not to get down too bad, everyone has different talents and regardless of whether you're "untalented" or not doesn't matter eventually if you keep doing it and don't give up, one day it will just click everything you struggled with will just make sense now and you'll have that experience of being stuck and getting out of it that can stop more "talented" people from moving forward.
I'd also say finding something to help when you are down is a necessity, whether that be walking, meditating reading a book, something to help you totally reset will help lots.
I'm just scared that this feeling of being stuck and lacking smth in my tracks will never go away...

Then I suggest dropping it, if you ever want to mess around with it every now and again go for it, otherwise just chase after what ya like to do. I don't think a hobby/job or whatever you do that you don't have to should stress you into a corner and force you into a depressed state. Be proud of what you've accomplished in the music department and seek out what you're really looking for.
For me I'm working at a warehouse rn making pretty dang good money but starting next year imma be going to school to get a degree in Education of Mathematics to teach at a highschool level, which I would be making about half of what I make right now but hey that's what I really want to do with my life haha. Spread your wings a bit friend, see what there is and then decide whether or not you want to truly go into making music~

Since u made the sad description i thought i would give my own opinion if ur still there to hear about it, but yeah ofc take with a grain of salt what you feel is right for you its only up to u.
First i do have to say that u have talent, and the potencial,i do feel a lot the same as u(abt comparing myself to others), i was before a little interested in mixing but then quit, due to not being used it, making melodies and all always sounding weird xp, also drawing i like it a lot, but never invested into art, rather am to something else now.
About the song i like a lot the first few accords they sound great, when i first heard i was blown away, but the rest of the track appeared compressed, with a bit missing impact and sounding mushie and bit melted together(bass, drums and treble.. etc), the music itself fine though, ik you are not experienced with this and i am not gonna push you on that, but my suggestion would be to consider a bit more how you sample the tracks to sound more hifi-ish or perhaps could try to make the intruments/music overall stand out more.
Your artwork in this track is really great drawn too, i like it, the waifu reassemble rachel from angel of death anime in my point of view, but still unique, (can't talk much about it).

If you take a long time to produce that's normal, we all have our own rhythms. Yours will probably accelerate with the time, if you keep try new things, reproduce them, and learn from it.
Don't hesitate to take breaks, even stop the production of a track to start another, you'll go back to the first automatically later, confident.
I know that can be a hard thing to do, for me it is at least, I don't like non finished work. But if you start to get mad alone that's the best thing to do. You won't lose anything important by doing that.
