    If you want Targaryen hair, do what the actors do that play them: put on a wig.

      just what I wanted to comment. Just put on a wig! And having light-silvery grey hair isn't flattering for everyone. Often it makes you look older or sick.

    • @queenkoi
      @queenkoi ปีที่แล้ว +59

      @@Vreeb17 which shows you how very difficult it is to go from dark to silver. She did not attempt that in her bathroom with quick blue, someone did that for her... and even so, her beautiful hair was damaged and she cut it off.
      A wig is definitely the way to go or doing it slowly with a color specialist.

    • @QManagerin
      @QManagerin ปีที่แล้ว +16

      @@MetallicMagenta sure, but does it though? Most of those people go back to a darker shade after frying of their beautiful hair because they don't like it either. That's why a wig can be helpful. So, you can see in advance if you really like it on yourself. I'm not policing anyone what to do with their own hair. Calm down.

      I bleached my hair to dye it pink for the preschoolers I work with since it was about to be valentines day. I completely damaged my hair since I would bleach alot for fun colors. Luckily, I generally cut my hair extremely short, so after it became damaged, I decided "ok, welp, I guess the long hair is about to be gonezo" and cut it all off, shaved down sides and back while keeping a bit on the top like a short boy cut. After doing that and giving it about 8 months, my hair is back to normal :) still gonna keep it super short though since kids can't pull it now lol

      my friend went to a hairdresser to have hers bleached and her hair got fried because the hair dresser left it on too long and all her hair started falling out from the top of her head and she had bald spots. She was devastated. She even won a law suit against the hair dresser for the damage. So even hair dressers mess up if you get the wrong one. Ive been to salons twice in my life and both times they screwed up my hair I never went back again. I would definitely trust this guy though to do my hair lol

    • @daughterofsekhmet81
      @daughterofsekhmet81 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      Personal experience, but I will never set foot in another salon ever again after the last "professional" destroyed my hair 10 times worse than the girl in the video's. Her hair looks amazing compared to what I ended up with when I tried to go blonde at a 5 star high-end salon. I had every expectation that they would do a great job and was prepared to pay up to $1000 to get it done "the right way". Yeah... I walked in with long healthy dark hair, and walked out with a fried orange bowl cut. The stylist left the bleach on way too long and most of my hair fell out in clumps in the sink. I had to wear wigs for the next 6 months. I imagine lots of people have had similar experiences, hence why they opt to do their own hair at home.

      The secret of growing long hair often lies in what you don‘t do to it. No color, no perm, no heat, not washing daily, and wearing it in a bun is pretty easy. But it also explains, why it may become boring over time.

    • @jolenejoleeene
      @jolenejoleeene ปีที่แล้ว +1

      My hair grows really fast, is mildly curly, and until a recent med change, was ridiculously thick. My hair care routine consists of washing and conditioning around twice a week, combing it while still wet, tying it up off my neck, and otherwise not messing with it. I always cut my own hair because I'm cheap and curls hide mistakes. Sometimes good hair comes despite our best efforts. However, other than a once every 5 years temporary color experiment, real coloring would only happen through a professional or my niece (who was practicing and training to become a professional).

    I understand the desire to be blonde - it’s been driven into the psyche of women (in the USA, at least) that blondes are sexier, more desirable, and have more fun. Models and actresses from Jean Harlow to Farrah Fawcett to Gigi Hadid - blonde.
    The stereotype persists, even if women don’t consciously think it does. It’s everywhere. It blows. It’s perpetuated mostly by older men, though women play a role by trying to achieve an impossible look for most - platinum blonde. It’s such an outdated color, too - who really wants to look like Mae West?
    Sorry, I’m rambling. My advice is, if you want platinum blonde hair for a few weeks, buy a decent wig. Don’t destroy your hair. Tedx done. 😊

It's the last few inches that still have a bit of fake dye but I will soon get that cut off to be virgin again, other than the highlights. But my hair is THICK and LONG, to my hips. It cost me about $200 for JIST the highlights. I couldn't imagine a full dye job. At home is A LOT cheaper but the risks are greater compared to a good hairdresser.

    They just really don’t know what they’re doing. ‘I don’t know why it got so bad from just 2 rounds of bleach’ - 2 rounds of bleach on the same head of hair is really aggressive lightening. I would never on scalp a client twice in a short period of time.
    And I don’t know one hairdresser that would attempt an on scalp bleach on themselves either.

    I have learned a lot from watching Hair Buddha!
    1. Always do your research before doing your own hair.
    2. If you are going to cut your own hair, invest in the proper scissors.
    3. Always take fine sections!
    4. Use 20 volumes!
    5. Finally, if you have any doubts about doing your own hair, go to a salon, and let the professionals do it!

      I have fast growing hair and grew out a pixie cut to a 'just above my shoulders' bob in nine months- I did avoid using straighteners and only used the hairdryer once a week. I also tried to avoid tying it back/putting it up and only had my colour done once during that time. It worked, but was it worth it? Nope, it nearly drove me round the bend 😆😆 and last night I had my hair cut back to a pixie!! On the plus side, I'm almost back to my natural colour (where on earth did all that grey come from!), and my hairdresser is going to add some colour next week. After years of (tint) highlights, I'm tempted to try a rich copper blonde

      5 years at 12 inches a year is pretty normal.. so waist length in 5 years isn't that strange... I went from bald like with a razor to the bottom of my shoulder blade in 3... And I had some cuts and trims in that time.

    I think it is also important to mention that darker colours also tends to come out much darker on bleached hair. A medium blonde becomes dark blonde or even brown if you dont chose the colour wisely. She could have gone with an 8 or even 9, depending on the hue. There is so much that can go wrong thats why I have stopped doing my hair myself and go to the hairdresser instead. I never made a single good experience with box dye in probably 10 years... never comes out well and what is worst that you dont know whether it is a colour or a lightener when you pick a light blonde shade. I once got a 'light' blonde shade (it was an 8 so not super light) from the drug store and it didnt say anything about lightening and the base colours on the box were all blonde and the target colour darker. I applied it and ended up with a copper shade and it lifted my roots. I was so devastated. Never touched a box dye ever again... I had to go to a hairdresser afterwards but they also didnt manage to fully fix it. Thank god it was around may and the sun fixed the problem quite nicely 😂.

    I knew from the second she said she wanted to go blonde that what she *really* wanted was to cut her hair drastically.
    I have no idea why, but SO MANY women behave as though they need someone's permission to change their hair. 'My husband likes it this way,' or 'my mom said she's get mad if I cut it,' etc, etc, etc.
    People, if it makes you happy, cut your hair off! However short you want! You can't spend your life waiting for permission to make yourself happy. She gets bored with her hair. So do a lot of us. As long as you're not hurting anyone, change is a good thing.

    Honestly, from someone whose dealt with bad bleaching damage on the past, one of the worst things you can do is chop off several inches because it's damaged all the way to the root. If youre not going to buzzcut, you should try and retain the length so when it does start to snap off you can get regular hair cuts and wont be left with those awful short bob/pixie bleach damaged hairsyles we see.
