Recently found your channel! Sure am glad I did. I’ve been watching quite a few of your videos really enjoy the content selfishly I want you to keep doing what you’re doing. I’m learning lots thank you!
I love this comment. I truly appreciate you. I’m always glad to help. I think most of my content will continue to be tutorials and reviews. At some point I need to add some stuff that is just making something that’s just fun to watch be made.
Thanks for the walk through. I always have a hell of a time with file guides on integrals. Grinding them roughly square by eye ball never seems to work for me, because I’ll clamp the guide on and the blade crooks to one side. Which leads to an ever so slightly canted handle fit up. Add to that all the grinding from a square bolster… as I’d love to forge in a little oval to save myself later… Hopefully that makes sense
Makes perfect sense. I definitely have that issue sometimes. I do my best to eyeball everything to square. Sometimes it’s a little off, but that’s why I try to rough grind a little over size. If it’s over size, I can make necessary adjustments as I go. It doesn’t always pan out, but sometimes it does. 😁
I’ve thought about those before. I’d love to get a a set of inserts carbide inserts. I’ve purchased a carbide flat platen plate, maybe one of the guys who make them can do a set for me.
@MBishopsBlades the only issue is that cheaper vises have a lot of play in the jaws and they don’t always come together square. I’d have to find the right vise first. It is a great idea though. I have a file guide for integral bolsters, but it’s not big enough for integral guards.
Always helpful.
Love your videos.
Even when the words keeps falling out the face hole.😊
😂😂 so glad to hear. Thank you!! One of these days I’ll learn how to talk less.
Thanks for the explanation. I appreciate you sharing.
Thanks a ton! I appreciate the kind comment.

Good one. Been thinking about an integral, got a couple high layer billets i'm not ready to ruin yet...
Hahaha. It’s much more relaxing to start with a mono steel 😂
👏👏👏🤜🤛

I wonder if you can buy carbide strips that could be epoxied to the vise jaws...

@@Hathenbrucksteelworks There may be a market for them for one of those guys. I have seen file guides designed for integral knives before too.
