I'll just say I appreciate that something is better than nothing in this case. Worth the seemingly impromptu audio/camera work to get this tour and commentary! Some very interesting tidbits in here
John, I love ya, you need to point the camera at the machines not the person speaking though. The introductions are great and purposeful. Mattias is pointing to the high density stock matrix and I'm like so freakin frustrated that I'm not looking at what he's talking about :(
Hi John this video is quite good ; however, the audio leaves much to be desired. Considering your extensive experience in creating tour videos, I anticipated a more adept handling of the inherent difficulties of filming in a noisy environment like a shop. I believe there's room for improvement here.
The noise reduction process did a big disservice to otherwise great video. Dialing back the settings a little bit, and leaving some background noise would result in much better sounding audio, than what we have now. The parts where the filter catches up and does not fully attenuate the noise sound just fine. Unfortunately, after a couple of seconds the sound gets garbled again :(
Crazy machines, super fast and accurate, but expensive. They do last, but they don't have prices online, like Haas, but they do by order so price is not the same, but still you need to wait for one for a long time, like 2 years 😥
I have ran a hermle before. The heidehan control is so weird haha. They are very accurate and last. The ones i ran were like 15 years old still holding tenths!
john the quality of your videos is ok if you take out the deflection from the ultra wide mode used on your gopro the videos would be great but in this one the audio is just below average not talking trash just pointing out an issue.
I love the Hermle tours, such high end machines. I wonder why they havn't done a horizontal 5AX like Heller or GROB.

They showed in the video that with robot and general automation prices coming down its cheaper to automate 2 ops and be more efficient with human labour which is getting more expensive.
Hermle have a great range of machines based on a sound design concept that has been refined over many years. To make a horizontal 5axis would mean having to complete against GROB, HELLER and others who have slightly different target markets to Hermle and great products that you would have to beat to stand a chance. Hermle are great because they do one thing really well. I would have no hesitation in recommending their machines
I’ve got bored seeing him talk rather than watching what he’s talking about? It’s the machines we want to see rather than someone’s face so after only a few minutes I’m turning it off👎🏻
you are giving us great content on machining...........i have so much confustion about 4 axis trunnion parts that is not in center of rotary 4th axis. what to do then my part is off center from rotary axis?? what and how to take offsets of xy and Z..... we uses nx cam for programming..... programming is not issue ....setup is difficult..... th-cam.com/video/XUVPm7KiVQk/w-d-xo.html .......we are planning this type of setup but we got confused to ho to take z ooset and xy offsets ......which codes for dynamic offsets in 4th axis
I worked with Mazaks about 23 years ago, great machine but they priced too high with the robotics and the company went out of business. Great machines though. When screw machines with the ability to take a 12-foot long 3inx3in square bars, that's twin collets and full ability to pull a 1/2-13 tap on the live tooling then I will agree that we are seeing progress. Until then, keep trying.
@@WilliamPayneNZ Both the company and the machines will last forever but the expense of all the extra gadgets like self-loading and Mazatrol on the machines put the company I was working for out of business. That and bad management. We spent more time loading the autoloader and fixing the machine after the robot misloaded than if we would have just loaded the machine ourselves.
I grew up 5 minutes from this facility and never knew it was there. Hidden gem that I have yet to visit. I cannot wait for that day to come.
I absolutely loved running my C60U MT for 3 years, and the C42’s were great too. Ran incredibly.
great video, but really horrible audio
Thanks. I just got new headphones and was wondering if it was just me.
hermle are beautiful machines, the company makes only one model in different scales and does not break into thousands of models! once and good!
Great video, I really enjoy these tour videos!

AHHHHH what was that super cute little toolroom CNC hermle in the corner of the apps area?!? ;___; ITS SO CUTE I MUST KNOW
Ditto on the Deutches Museum in Munich. I have been there several times and love going every time.
good tour, but unfortunately audio quality is poor and when introducing the machine, the camera is always on the people.
Ahh man, I was there a few years ago. Some familiar faces.
John, you need someone to help you with the audio - this is barely watchable.
Fix audio hard to follow. GREAT TOUR!

Best machines hermle

my favorite machine hermle c60 and c42

Please, it's Heidenhain :-)
How is the audio always so bad.. talk to Abom for some mic tips.
I want video of 4 axis milling 🥰😍
0:48 Bar in the show room. Very German.
How do you use camera 😢
Next Stop for you, Heidenhain in Bavaria....and then we gonna chip some Beer.
I might have wished you had filmed more of the machines and less of the salespersons :-)
Audio was hard to listen to. Like listening to a video chat through a bad connection 😐
Hi i from south korea
Very good
Love it
What brand is the dovetail fixture?
I like that c400

what is the control unit on the hermle c650 is it a heidenhain
Yes it's a Heidenhain control. New keyboard and screen setup.

if you ever want some to help invigorate the 5S lifestyle in your facility, here we are❤
When the guy explains the base casting then why don't you film the base casting so we can understand what he explains?
Their machines run on linear guides and not box way. Hm.
Dam, you're in my neck of the wood
WHERE IS JOHNNY 5?!!
Welcome I am shocked at your appearance Aging is apparent on you I wish you happiness

talk to your oem
Wanted to watch but had to stop when you just kept showing the dude talking and never any of the machines......🤷🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
We had one once apon a time and was complete shit
The company I am working for just closed the mechanical department. All of our machines are Hermle. I miss my C40 🥲

Mazak never went away. They are still a very big company.
