I'm half-expecting the comments on this to be asking about my thoughts/theories on THAT face appearing in Rogue. PLEASE do not comment asking me about that, or about how I need to change/update previous theories. I will give my thoughts/theories on that when I have come up with something.
I can believe that of 10, perhaps combined with the radiation he absorbed, however I wouldn't say that of 12 as his whole final speech, and in fact final words, are about letting go of being The Doctor, and given that he's just also convinced his past self to do that very same thing I think it would rather ruin the point of the episode if it turned out he was just lying.
Yes, but by the end of that episode he's clearly let go of that and his time as The Doctor, his final words are literally "Doctor, I let you go". So it wouldn't really make sense for all of his pent up anger and aggression from earlier to still be in him, plus if that were the case then The First Doctor would have experienced the same thing which we know he didn't.
@CaptainJimiPie I don't mean in a metaphorical sense, I mean that by delaying his regeneration, there's more energy building up to release, hence the more explosive regeneration
lets not forget the 11th "regenerated" outside the tardis and blew up the massive dalek ship with the regeneration energy, it made him look young again but if that had happened in the tardis..im sure the show would be 100% set on trenzalore.
I did consider that but ultimately I didn't include that simply because it didn't happen inside the TARDIS and there's no really any point including a "what if"
Already knew the answer to this one when I saw the thumbnail! I guess it could be said it "used" to be true for the new series (2005 - now), but that has actually changed with 13's regeneration and 14's bi-generation. Both regenerations happen outside the TARDIS which leads to the TARDIS not receiving any damage! ( Honestly I do hope 15's regeneration in the future will be inside the TARDIS because I can imagine how good the lighting and damage effects could look for it! *Especially with how the crashing sequence in that one Christmas special looked!* )
Thing is even if you just go by the TARDIS "crash landing" it still doesn't add up. At best it's only vaguely true, as debatably some of the "crashes" like Xmas Invasion or Deep Breath could be said to be more "bumpy landing" and technically in TUAT/WWFTE it didn't even crash, it dematerialised mid-air. I think it's one of those ideas that's become a bit of a Mandela effect where younger viewers who were seeing Xmas Invasion as their first regeneration remember it being alot more action packed than it was.

I personally accept the theory that the reason 10 and 12's regenerations were so violent is because they were holding it back, not wanting to go

@CaptainJimiPie the beginning of TUAT makes it clear that he's refusing to regenerate

@@CaptainJimiPieadditionally 12 only held on for about 3 or 4 hours at most.
Whereas 10 did for much longer

@@CaptainJimiPie Eh, I mainly go by the Tardis basically exploding and/or crash landing.
So like 10's regeneration or 12's regeneration.
That's where I differ haha I consider both of them to be more bumpy landing than crash landing but that's just quibbling over semantics I suppose XD
You’ve redecorated this place haven’t u? And I like it
Thanks!
from what we can see new office looking cool
Thanks!
Yes, its a total daft misconception.
It is indeed
