Yes you can use surfactant. Doesn't matter which kind as surfactant only makes the chlorine stick to the roof. They don't really add cleaning power to the chlorine. The nozzles on my 12v jrod is a 0040 stream and 2540 fan tip
I am subscribed to Mike as well. Definitely learn from him as well. Its another dude on TH-cam I watch his name is Freddie Pressure he let me get a few before and after pics! Anyway all u dudes is dope to me man!
What's the life on the SH when it gets sprayed on the roof? I'm in southern California and usually everyone out here pressure washes roofs. I'm thinking about brushing the roof first to get the top layer off, leaf blowing it off then adding SH to kill the black mold and see how it goes from there
I dont know what life of it is. But the roof gets pretty much cleaned after spraying. The rain will rinse it off (unless you want to rinse it yourself) but I rather leave it so it kills all the algae for me. I don't think it lasts for days up there. Sh turns to evaporates and also turn to salt.
Quick question for you. I some how happened to land an apartment complex job with flat concrete tiles, my question is is it safe for me to leave my SH mixture on the roof or should I rinse? The entire complex has gutters and they are cleaned out. I plan on using a 5% mix while using roof snot as the surfactant. How long should it take for I/customer to see results? More so with the mold not the moss
No need to rinse. You should see great results before u pack up and leave. Moss doesn't attach to tile roofs u could either spray then and they'll die and fall off or u can blow them prior to cleaning.
Hey just started a pressure washing business what are the hose attachments you use? I can’t find any different ones other that the regular pressure handles I’ve found the jrod but can’t find any other comfortable handles to use
Do you ever run into green or mustard algae in Florida, I hit with probably 8.5%, or 6.5% twice today, and most of the color was gone, but crazy working with such a hot mix. Seems to be a mostly California roof thing, with hardly any black mold.
That looks awesome cliff Great job. I have a question how do you find out the square footage of a roof like that ? And how much to charge for square footage for that roof or do you charge different for that first roof ? Thanks 🙏
No need to adjust the unloader to rinse with low pressure. The unloader should not be touched after setting it to the correct psi. Thats why we use a Jrod cause it has the tips to lower the pressure.
@@PinkFlamingoPowerWash Thanks for the info. Maybe I need a new jrod. I ordered it for a 4gpm machine but it seems like the pressure is still shooting way too hard.
Hey cliff, thank you again for the great content and info. How much surfactant do you usually use for a roof wash? I have a roof cleaning coming up and I have a 13 gallon tank soft wash system and I’m going to use a 50/50 mix. How much surfactant should I use? Thank you in advance champ.

I'm using 12.5% sh but I'm only applying it at 5-6% I would never apply 10- 12.5% straight mix to a roof that's a waste.

Depending on your market it could.be upwards to .40-45c a sq ft

Thanks brother. You as well.
Do you rinse off the roof after you spray your chem or do you let the rain do the rinsing?
Let the rain do the rinsing. I only rinse metal roofs
That might be the most satisfying roof cleaning I’ve ever seen.

Do u remember what SH% mix you used for this tile house?
I used like a 5-6% on it.
what chemical are you using on roof . mix ratio.
The staple chemical in our industry. SH (sodium hypochlorite) aka pool chlorine. And I'm using it at a 5% mix

Do you go down below to get the tiles that roll around the edges or try and get them from the roof. I never see anyone in the videos deal with them.
On some roofs I do. But most of them I can sorry the edges from the top. I spray at an up angle to make sure tonget those edges while I'm up top.
