    Usually the 8pin connector (thats near the ATX) is usually for the USB C charge connector, if you tend to use the Front I/O to charge your devices as well with USB-C.
    From what Asus has claimed, is they changed the design on the Ram Pins and ultization to get more ram speeds without adding in traces that they normally add on previous generations, in order to get more ram speeds and hopefully faster post.
    The Only down side on the Crosshair Hero x870E is less USB I/O connector this time, compared to the x670E Crosshair Hero. So you may have to grab a USB Hub or fetch the Strix x870E in order to have a balance in USB Connectors. I can def see the sacfrice they did there, to add another Network NIC, coz i did recall more people want ASUS to add an extra Network NIC in the fourms.

    • @farmertrueVR
      @farmertrueVR 20 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      The 8 pin connector next to the mobo 24 pin is for the front usb C fast charging. I’ve owned the X670E Hero since launch and it has the 6 pin for that exact reason and does nothing else. I’m curious if they made it 8 pin since that seems to be common among PSUs to keep down confusion since it uses the same cable as GPUs.
      The usb I/O is what stood out most to me as well. On the X670E Hero, the massive amount of USB A and USB C were one of the selling points. It was one of only few AM5 mobos that had the connections I need. If I were to get the X870E Hero, I’d lose connections and need to use hubs.
      Plus the X670E Hero already has 5 nvme SSD spots, the two USB 4 connections and more connections for audio. But like you said, people mentioned wanting more Ethernet connections on the Hero so I see why they added another port. But why not 10G like others have along with the 2.5G?
      I guess it all comes down to the bifurcation and price. If you can use all these features without messing with the others then that is nice. I know the X670E Hero has some minor ones like if you use the USB 4 then you can’t use one of the pcie 5.0 nvme.
      Coming from the X670E Hero though, this would actually be a downgrade for my needs.

    Not seeing debug code LEDs on most of the boards. PCIe layout on the top end means x8/x8 so if you want to use some add in cards like 10G Ethernet, capture, audio, etc, you are dropping your GPU down to x8. M2 already with a heatsink, will you have to use tape or something to hold it down, or can a regular screw still be used if the asus mechanism is removed?
