Brilliant! I'd watched a couple of others but they didn't make sense. Soon as I saw what you did with the knife I found my way in!! Me and my Skoda Roomster say 'Thank you!!' 😊
@@sploosabino I wish they’d make these things simpler to get into. It took me ages to figure out, hence why I made the video in the first place lol. Glad you found it helpful though 🙂
@@misscazzybee I'm so glad you did! I was planning on driving to my local Skoda dealership tomorrow because I was darned if I could work it out. Soon as I saw how you used the knife the penny dropped and it was plain sailing from there. Yes! Why do they make it so difficult!? LOL
Thank you. I’d worked out how to do the first bit but could not work out how to split the second bit. I was worried I’d break it. Now working. You have my gratitude and blessed be. 💕
Thanks for this, saved me time figuring it out! I used a stanley blade instead of a knife, but got it open and changed - mine stopped unlocking, even though it locked OK. Thank you 👍
Thank you so much! Was panicking because other videos didn't show how to open skoda key fobs and both my key fobs had run out of battery at the same time! After watching your video i was able to open mine within seconds 😁 my key fob is exactly like yours and its for a skoda fabia 2 (2009)
I’m so glad it was helpful. This is exactly the reason I made it; when I was trying to change my battery first time I couldn’t find any tutorials anywhere and because the key was so old there were no obvious entry points. It seems to have helped a fair few people out so it’s worth my embarrassment over a rubbish video lol.
I have changed quite a few key fob batteries in the past but this was the first time I have had to lever the two main elements apart using a flat screwdriver (in my case) rather than undoing a screw with a cross-head screwdriver. The second split is what foxed me this time, as I found the owner's manual misleading at that stage. I didn't twig that you had to pull the two halves of that half apart. Thanks a lot. It was nice and clear.
You’re welcome. I’m glad this video is still helping people. I originally put it up to help a friend and had no idea that it would be liked by this many people.
Excellent! I've now changed batteries in both key fobs for my 2008 Octavia. Your video saved the day, well done! Before watching it, I'd almost given up hope of being able to change the battery.
Thanks I was about to break the 3 button fob of my 57 Fabia mk 2 struggling to follow another video because it actually has one of these earlier key fobs. They come apart in completely different ways!!!!!! The later ones the grooves are different and a lid lifts off. The end doesnt come off. Beware.
Thank you for the tutorial. It worked perfectly for me as well as saving me a visit to the Skoda dealer as suggested in their handbook. Clear and concise.
Thank you for the tutorial, so many tutorials but yours was straight forward and very easy to understand. It helped me to change my battery 🔋. Stay safe.
Great video. Enabled me to change the battery on my Roomster. Having gone through the process I found the key still didn't work so I took it apart again and bent the connectors slightly to make sure they were making good contact with the battery and the circuit board it now works OK. Checked the battery voltage and I think it was the poor contact that was the problem rather than the battery.
Thank you very much indeed, simple, short, straight to the point tutorial... Just one question please, does it work straight away or would it need pairing or coding with the car?
Excellent. I found one of these keys on a walk, and the battery was dead. I changed it and now to go around the car parks and get me a new car! :) No, hopefully owner can be found. Excellent video.
Marilyn Wolfman That’s great, I’m really happy that you didn’t have to spend a fortune getting it done in a garage. I think we spend enough on motoring as it is so I’m glad this video has helped.
I was struggling with this until I found this Video. Then it was a 2 minute job. Many thanks.
Glad you found it helpful

Brilliant. A simple and no nonsense tutorial. Thanks very much!
Thank you so much. So many videos for the other types but not for this one that slides apart before you split it! Many thanks!
Thank you so much! I have a Skoda roomster 08 and no one has done a video with the right way, but you have! Legend ta!
So glad you found it helpful 😊

Awesome. Glad it’s been a help to you.
I struggled, like you said, to find the right video. Yours was perfect; well-explained and solved my problem. Thank you!
You’re welcome. When I made this video I never imagined that it would help so many people, so it’s really nice to hear, thank you.

You are an angel. Its now 2022 and this worked for my Fabia 5J. Thank you
Awesome! I’m happy you got it to work.
thank you so much! took so long to find out, that all the tutorials I watched, were not for my sort of key, even if they looked exactly the same..
So glad you got it sorted. It’s one of those frustrating jobs that should be easy but is more of an enigma to solve!
Excellent, thanks Cazzy. 😊
You’re welcome 😊
