Awesome Review Jon!! I am a fellow X owner in Irvine. I agree with you on the windshield, definitely cool but on super sunny days a sunshade is needed. I picked up a heat shield that works great (made a video on that). I had an early X so had some quality issues that the service center resolved, including the clicking noise when the door opens. But it's definitely my favorite car! Plan to take delivery of the 3 later this year! Definitely looking forward to it!
70-80% ceramic tint on the windshield makes a world of difference with heat reduction. Ceramic is expensive as hell, but it'll also protect the interior from being damaged by UV rays.
I have a 2017 CLS 550 and it drives itself now. It Reeds road signs for itself. So when you roll up to the 35 mile an hour Zone coming out of a 45 mile-an-hour Zone it will slow down on its own. It does have radar but it mainly uses 4 Forward and for rearward-facing stereo cameras. That uses those cameras to digitize everything in it's line of sight.
Thank you for such an in depth video review. I was going to get one later this year, but doing research on this has shown a number of issues which makes me uncomfortable to drop that kind of money on... YET! I think ill stick with gas for a little longer... GWAGON perhaps ?! lol
God forbid you need to replace a part in the Tesla's. They take MONTHS to get a part fixed. It'd be quicker to just buy a new Tesla/Car in the time frame it'll take to get something fixed.

Very nice review. Jon, to say that 4.5 secs 0-60 ... "so it is not a slow car for being this big" ... is a bit of a misnomer. This is as fast, if not faster than many muscle cars. How fast does a car have to be in order not to be " not so slow" :)
I love Mark Linsangan, he's incredible and Jon... There's a reason he's a tech review pioneer and still so great and respected in the industry. Things like this inspire me to get a Model 3 and then some time in the future, a nicer model (possibly). Full time student, full time employee and I sell around $14-16 thousand dollars annually through selling online. Not sure when I'll be able to comfortably afford a Model 3 but I've never wanted anything more in life.
I received my Model X 3 weeks ago. We have the same vehicle and color , except that I have the 5 seats with a black vegan interior, glad to hear about the durability. Model X 75D. Like you I love the huge wind shield. Visors are beyond useless:-) I used the have "dropped" Porsche 911 and love the Tesla suspension. 100% agree with you on your comments. My favorite car too. BUT I wish i'd gotten the P100D :-)

Damn John ballin' Escalade and a Model X, nice. My neighbor got a Model X recently and I like to flap my hands like a bird when I see him driving it every once in awhile. It never gets old. HA HA. I was skeptical about the falcon wing doors until I saw people with kids using them and then I realized how useful they were. Even having a dog I could see how much easier they would be for getting my dog in and out versus standard doors.
They aren't that useful if you don't have kids though. They're more of a pain to wait for them to open when you just want to quickly put something in or grab something out of the car. Also a lot of garages are too low to accommodate the doors and mechanism for the doors also limits headroom. Long term reliability is also questionable since none of these cars have been on the streets for more than 2 years. They should've just made two versions of the car so you could pick regular doors if you wanted.
Nice review. I own (lease) an X90D, and am glad to hear you're still enjoying the vehicle after a year. It's not perfect, but then nothing is. I do really enjoy driving it, and it hauls my 3 kids around with ease and safety. I've got no real complaints. Cheers!

It's hard to imagine spending 134k on a car. Just to get around town... Especially when its going to depreciate greatly in value after just a couple years. I've driven a Model S before, and while i do have to admit, they're very nice. And feel very luxurious, right up there with Cadillac and Mercedes. At the end of the day. It is just a way to get from where you are to where you're going... I'm not saying everyone should drive beaters. But there are plenty of 30k-40k cars/SUV's out there that are very nice and safe. I don't want to go all electric bad enough to pay 3x as much for it. I'd rather have two 35k cars (SUV/Truck and a Sporty/play car combo would be nice) and put that other 64k in the bank or some kind of savings or trust account for my children.

As always you made a great video Jon and your team and the drone team, I think you could do a video about anything because you have a good perspective about what the content should be.
I feel that primarily fully electric cars will be the expensive versions of cars, like upgrading to a v8 engine, and hybrids will be the more affordable version of cars. But that is if we will ever cut back on combustion only cars. Hopefully one of these days I can buy my own fully electric car, and maybe not by Tesla because there will be far more options in the future but I do love these cars
2:59 I have watched a lot of Model X reviews and other people said that it charges to 80% in about 40 mins. Another thing is that if you go to Tesla.com they are showing a new Tesla called the Model Y and it is the Model 3’s front end on a Model X
One question I always have on any unconventional door designs would be how it's like when you are getting in or out in heavy rain. Main concern is if the water would drain quickly enough around the frame and not overthrow onto the passenger or seat. This is ONE thing never mentioned from many reviews I have watched on TH-cam. If you would answer that, it's much appreciated. Thank you.
This was the first time I heard someone complain about a harsh ride. Is this something they "fixed" with newer iterations of the X? Possibly a settings control on the air suspension?
I'm a Tesla owner, and love the feel of the drivetrain. You didn't mention a major drawback of Tesla-the mediocre quality of its interior and design not withstanding the 17 inch center display. Take a Model S or X at its price point ($85K-$160K) and go look at, eg., a BMW M4 or a Porsche Panamera interior. Both of these are less expensive than a Tesla at similar performance, but have far better quality and design of their interiors. Also, as a correction and clarification, your Model X does not accelerate 0 to 60 MPH in 4.5 sec as you mentioned, and only those produced after July 2017 are rated at 4.8 sec (Model X75). Some of your readers may be looking for resales, and models prior to that time (including yours) are approx. 5.8 sec on a good day. I love my Tesla. Was planning on buying another before the end of the year but will wait until they produce a new interior suitable for its quite lofty price point. I will miss the free supercharging but that expense is quite nominal given your shelling out $116K or more for a well equipped X100D.

The air suspension on my mx 100d is one of the most smoothest ride I've been in, even on the lowest height setting.
