- How did they make this so cheap? It’s the Christopher Ward C1 Moonphase, and it does a whole lot for not very much.

Trying to get my 17 year old son into watch collecting (yea right dad..) I showed him this and he flipped out. He's wanting to be an aerospace engineer and has never had a better reaction to a watch that I've shown him, so I got it for his college commitment day. I can't wait to see his face when he decides on his school and then gets a little extra inspiration for the journey!!
Im 17 and my dad isn’t really into watches but I would love something like that great choice!
What a great dad! I'll always remember receiving my high school graduation watch. My parents aren't watch people but they knew I would be thrilled.
Thanks much for that Ian. I'm very fortunate that he's a driven young man that makes it pretty easy.@@IanMcBride
This is such a cool thing to do. He will remember and cherish that watch forever. Wow
Nice move.
The moon phase is pure luxury class at a fraction of the price. Absolutely gorgeous
I think Christopher Ward is my favorite watch brand. Honestly they could charge so much more than they do and yet they don't. They make an honest profit and then churn out the next really well done piece.
Why doesnt anyone ever show this watch in a different phase of the moon. I want to see a halfmoon floating in adventurine. Love your videos.
I own 2 Christopher ward watches a chronograph and a divers watch. The quality is excellent. This watch however blows by socks off😀 I’ve just celebrated my 79 th birthday but fancy this for my 80th! So guess I’d better keep going. As should Christopher ward!
!
I'm such a space dork that I love this even without any time display on the dial, it's so classy
Moonphase is one of my favorite complications. Especially if it's done correctly. Something almost romantic about it.
Well done to Christopher Ward for winning the Petite Aguille award last night. Fantastic achievement for the company. As for the Moonphase, not my bag I'm afraid but I'm sure it'll be hugely successful. ps the watch is Moseresque.....oops hadn't watched the full clip, I see you mentioned Moser :)
Definitely on the list.
Unique and "flashy"in a very, "down-to-Earth" (pardon the pun) understated way.
By the way, I listen to your channel mostly because of your elegant, artistic, and poetic oratory presentation skills.
The breadth of your ability is intriguing.
Looks like CW is the on a roll! Im not a fan of lunar complication but looking at this one makes me reconsider. Love the fact they kept the logo out of the dial just like Bel Canto. Perhaps confident that the watch itself will be the identifier. Please keep surprising :)
Damn. Not the watch… the WRITING. Andrew you are such a talent.
This is a smash hit. I saw it by chance on the back of the New Statesman magazine and became obsessed with the idea of a moonphase watch. It culminated with a purchase from Casio's newish moonphase line, but this CW will remain a grail.
To me, the CW unique offerings have made this my favorite brand in just the last month. I've wanted an FP Journe for over a decade, but I cannot justify the $. These are more in range of affordability, and IMO just as innovative. I have a Bel Canto on order and the C1 Moonphase with date ring is very tempting!
I am testing the C1 Moonglow, and I have to say i am liking it a lot.
LOVE IT. and my purple 12 shipped today!
Beautiful watch, and as always a great video!
Thanks for the live action seizure shot..😂 A beautiful piece indeed!
A perpetual moon phase sounds cool but I bet it’s a pain in the rear to set properly, I’d have range anxiety about running out of power if I was away from it for a few days
My thoughts exactly, especially with the power reserve being a measly 38h as with most CW watches.
Er, no, happily not. Unless you find setting a day/date to be a PITA. Pull the crown out and turn it and the moon progresses in a smooth linear motion. Check your daily paper, check your weather app, check tinternet and match the moon on the dial with the moon and you're there. It really is that quick. I wore mine for 15 days straight because honestly I'm so smitten by it as a wear it every day watch. Only experience with longer power reserves on other watches fooled me with power reserve but honestly it really is check the current moon state/pick the watch up/pop the crown out/wind the moon round to match the moon state. Gone too far? No problem just keep winding until the second moon comes around. Actually I'd recommend doing this so as to take away any anxieties about it being difficult.
Same. Like the idea of a moonphase - not necessarily this one. But as it wouldn't be the daily watch for me, it means I'd either invest in a watch winder or find a battery version
Believe me after a while you no longer care about the accuracy of the moonphase. This is purely aesthetics
I have one and it is fantastic, well worth the price. Literally my only complaint with it is that crown winding feels stiffer than other watches I own, and I can live with that
Its a mosereque* marvel! I ordered this watch and it is a little wonder. Every glance at it astonishes me. The watch feels super high quality and is worth every (of the 250000) penny. No picture does the dial justice. I also bought the initial blue Belcanto that was too light for my wrist feeling. This one has presence, but ain't a rock on my < 7 inch wrist. 👌
This will be my first Christopher Ward, coming from much more expensive brands…I expect this moonphase to be in regular rotation. It’s absolutely stunning 🤩
Here for the C1 Thumbnail, stayed for the incredible commentary!
This looks great. Would match a midnight blue tux beautifully!
I like moon phase watches in general and would pull the trigger on this watch but I have the moon glow versions which is the movement except it has a date function
Awesome watch. Did you check the Titan Stellar ?
That dial is absolutely mesmerising. Superbly adorable. I am in love💕💕💕💕💕
I’m so happy CW is getting some shine finally. I’ve had my Sealander C63 for years and it’s finishing is better than the Tudors at the AD. Only gripe is it is the old logo which isn’t nearly as catchy as the dual flags.
I’m hoping to see one of these moon phase in person soon!
Such a great looking watch!
Lunatic fringe! I’m star-craving mad about this moon-phase watch. 🤪 So gorgeous and intuitive. Love it.
Been waiting for this vid
Hi there. Just askin but could you teach us how to set and use a moonphase please? Thank you!
I love this thing! won’t have the $$$ until the new year, I hope their available.
they could have added bigger shiny star looking dots around the dial to see what time is it exactly
Added to the list
Mike France showed me the watch at the WindUp Watch Fair in NYC a couple of weeks ago. Seeing it in a video honestly does not do it justice. The watch is stunning. CW has hit it out of the park.
Is there a CW dealer in NY?
No. Only sales thru their website.
What do you think about Venezianico? They done Avventurina watches too
In the metal, how does it compare with Selten aventurine?
I have their DRB1 and I love it
Currently my watch budget is busted, but if I could I would get this in an instant. It is unique, executed to a high degree, and to me, is just damn cool. I purchased the 12 a few months back, and I am really impressed with what CW is doing. I never took a 2nd glance at CW a year ago, but now they definitely have my attention.
Which the twelve model did you buy my friend?
@@george88pizza43 the Grey model.
This is a brilliant and stunning masterpiece! Though it's quite the opposite of a one watch collection concept. But completing a nice collection, it's one of the best conversation starters I can imagine! 🧡
It does look nice but it has crappy movement and unreadable dial. How to synchronize Moonphase? My OCD is killing me just thinking about it.
I was happy I had my CW basket down to just a Trident C60 and the Bel Canto, then this came along and now I need more money...thanks Christopher Ward.
I'm tapped after the Trident(love it) and this, and really wanted the Bel Canto too, but no more cash here lol.
Stunning watch
I do not see the watch for sale on your website
I’m just glad they changed the Lyme to blue instead of green lol. Now it’s a stunning watch!
Just bought it. Struggled to pick the strap, when with the leather, looks savage. Only have to wait a few months to get it now 😅
This watch looks amazing in the video. Is this watch a limited edition?
the brushing of the case looks different, feel exquisite
Stunning.
It's Moser-esque which is a fantastic idea. I'm very happy they didn't put the logo on the dial, as it really is quite inellegant.
(but there is nothing more inelegant than the Hyundai logo. 😂)
Useful if you're a werewolf.
Stunning
Nice piece!
Cogs! Well polished cogs, not what I heard first time around.
If it had a minute/hour track at the edge, I would have already ordered one. It’s a personal thing, but I need one to be able to easily read the time.
Mine arrived today. ❤
i have never, and don't plan to, wear a watch. but this channel fascinates me.
i had no idea there were so many super cool watches.
I've been lusting over the Lange with the same dial thinking one day a brand will come with this dial at a more affordable price. And here we are. My heart stopped when I saw this watch the first time. I hope one day CW will shrink this dial down. Just like the 12.
Will you do a video on saturation dive watches that actually have been proven to work at depths up to 1000ft?
Unique looking watch with a very attractive price.
I reallllllllly want to know how this compares to the Sugess Moonphase master because the aventurine dial sugess offers is reallly nice
Hello sir kindly do the review of SEIKO SARX 115/117 thanks❤❤❤😊
Hard to tell, but the moon does look like there’s a cross hatch pattern across it. I noticed this on the moon glow version as well. Love, my bel canto, though!
This is incredible.
Love it!
I don't own many watches at all, so I've been trying to not buy more than one watch from one brand to make a well rounded collection. However, Christopher Ward is making it very hard to stick to that rule as I'd love a Bel Canto or this Moonphase but I already have a Lucerne Blue C63. I think they might have to be the exception!
Looking good but... i'm not a huge fan of dials without indexes.
Well polished WHATS!?
NICE! I love the flat earth dome reference! Hilarious!
As advertised; it checks all the blocks. Paired with Jim Green barefoot ranger's and japanese selvedge jeans.
I love the Omega "Blue side of the moon' Speedmaster BECAUSE of its aventurine dial.
But thats 14,000 and this is 2000.
I can’t help being reminded of a Movado!
I love that there’s limiting branding and none on the dial. Some Rolex have a paragraph on them
This watch evokes thoughts of Movado's potential with their minimalist watch design language, I mean it in a good way, well done CW!
Yeah only movado sucks😂
@iaido01 Couldn't disagree with that 🤣😂🤣😂🤣 They got a rich heritage though!
@@blurryn yeah that is true, but in the “beginning” of my watch hobby 20 years ago i saw movado for the first time and when i asked the price and she fucking said 800 euro’s i was like “no way hosé” bye. They look great, but they feel like a 250 dollar watch max.
Just wow!
that's the moonest moon I have ever seen on a watch.
"Well polished cogs". Nice.
even if it only had indices on the bottom nonmoving portion it would have been a buy for me.
I. Need. This. Watch.
Wow! Just wow.
Another banger from CW.
Reminds me of my Meistersinger Lunascope
love it
I will try to get one on the next Blue Moon, lol
Beautiful watch. Zara of the watch world perhaps
I'd get the Tewlve if they put this face and moon phase on it, add dial markers and the date
37 / 38mm and I could not resist
“Definitely” 😂
it is starting to look like Meistersinger is Christopher Ward's test ground. Meistersinger Bell Hora vs Belcanto, meistersinger lunascope vs this. Nothing wrong with it, but you can see that they come from the same manufacturer.
Who is this new designer that Christopher Ward just kidnapped?😂
Brilliant 😁
Christopher Ward one to watch for the future (pun intended)
How much?
They didn’t ‘make it cheap’, they made a great watch cheaply
I miss the old format when Andrew's voice sounded different, probably the mic, the music was a bit higher, and only video of the watch. And wth was that timelapse at 5:55 ?
What's a moon face?
My take is: I want one
I liked the"reference"....
I prefer moon phase to be displayed more subtlety but each to their own. I bought a Vulcain Cricket for less than the price of a Bel Canto too. I own several of their watches but their attempts at cheap high horology don't work for me.
