I love researching the history etc wherever I go and also in areas, self education is incredibly important regarding visiting specific areas. I always take my wildlife book with me, plants, insects, fungi, birds and animals which fills the evening while camping. Loved the solitude of the trail and really identify with those moments you stop for food and coffee in those beautiful places, those moments are when I truly find peace.

Loved every minute of this, Murray. The scenery really was breathtaking. You go to so much trouble to make sure we see every beautiful moment. The rolling hills, farmland, big Beech trees, are quite different to your snow-covered peaks, but oh how I love every single hike and climb you take us on. Thank you so much, lovely man.

most people don't understand that walking through a field of cows can be very dangerous there are quite a few deaths a year in the UK so always keep next to a fence so you can escape if they charge at you

Been enjoying Murray’s videos for a few years now and this was no exception. Easy to overlook how much effort’s involved, especially in poor weather, with all the camera set-ups etc in order to provide an interesting and seamless viewer experience.

This is a new one to me Murray, so I'm going to take the video in chunks to enjoy it properly. To answer your initial question, I often feel the need for some solitude away from the trials and tribulations of everyday life :)

It's what's on your door step you often miss, some great views Murray, only wished I could move to Scotland but at my time of life not possible, but at least I now have Derbyshire to explore, better than East Anglia for bumps in the road!

Ahhh Murray that was one of my favourites! The walk always but I loved the stories, the random crab claw joke “ I don’t think you’ll find many crabs flying around up here, so I’m pretty certain someone’s stopped here before” had me cracking up ! I really enjoyed hearing you shout in that wind that nearly had you on your rear end, I know; But it was funny. What a lovely journey to have the privilege of watching, I’m glad you found your Fishiduous 😅trees in the end I too dislike the farmed ones. And to finish it all off that lovely comment about family being the best adventure. Top class Murray ! Thank you. Alaya Norfolk.

Beautiful video as usual thank you Murray, thank you for all the effort to film it. Reminds me of down here, similar gorgeous scenery with all those beautiful rolling hills, so lovely to walk in and let the stress melt away, so glad to be here. Solitude is good for the soul, easy to get in this beautiful land if you stay away from the famous places. Will have to visit one day to see it in real life. I know what you mean about plantations, they can get in the way sometimes...

    Try Machta vs coffee!
Don’t boil the water, I forget the “ideal” temp, but it’s below boiling (80c comes to mind) you can certainly use a bit lower temp, just don’t go over that upper limit by much.
You can use “culinary grade” vs the other, often much more, expensive grades, it’s just a bit more earthy in flavor, but shouldn’t be a bother if you’re drinking black coffee.
It’s a much better energy delivery, IMHO
You can also let it cool, add a touch of powdered ginger and pour a shot into a water bottle and fill it; gives a nice little extra boost to your water

Really enjoyed this trip you shared Murray, thanks. Ha, ha: as an ex-Fife child I haven't heard anyone say "the tattie holidays" for ages.

That looked a fantastic walk Murray, I've recently done a few 'lower level' walks similar to that and found them absolutely superb, thankyou once again and stay well 👌🏻

Great backpacking adventure Murray. 😎I did a wee bit of this trail a few years ago. Dropped down from the Corbett Monamenach and a race to get back to the club bus at the Spittal.

Great hike Murray, especially close to your home, and to hardly see anyone. I love days like that, to feel you own the land and stand in a pliace where maybe no one else has stood is a great feeling. Have a great 2024, and enjoy your adventure with Lewis. Take care......Alioban ❤

Another barnstorming hike Murray and it was great to see new landscapes and often wondered what this trail was like so great
Information and walking references for anyone doing this walk. It looks OK to mountain bike it in the summer and definitely
    One for 5he bucket list😁👍🫡.

It’s well worth it - I really enjoyed the Cateran Trail :) I reckon a bike would be ok on most parts and on other bits there are roads nearby if you wanted to skip the rough trail :)

It was more than a pleasure watching it, a stunning bit of video editing.

Murray have you ever considered the loch Lomond and cowal path from inverruglas to Portavadie?
It seams to have a good write up without being too busy.
