Well I'm a Spurs fan but I honestly don't think we'll win the title but will hopefully be in the top 4. I expect Liverpool, City and United to be other top 4 clubs by the end of the season. I can't say which one will win it though. However I make a big disclaimer, which is that this season is clearly very unpredictable and there maybe some surprises.

I like the way Spurs are playing now. They are able to create more counter attacks. Especially the fact they're more effective compared to weak counters often without numbers. It was a great plan especially from a team like Leeds who likes to play around with possession.

I couldn't be happier to be a Leeds fan. Just over a year ago we were losing to Charlton away, now we are in the prem playing some of the most entertaining football around. Bielsa transformed the club and players, find another manager that could do what he's done with nearly the same squad that was a mid-table championship squad. Of course our lack of quality with our style is going to result in a few ass whoopings, but our goal is just to survive and build.

This piece, broadly speaking, gets it right. When he says that Leeds did not do itself any disservice, he's acknowledging that Leeds lost not because their approach was wrong, but because of three concrete mistakes and an overall difference in individual quality. A side with the quality that Spurs has will against an inferior opponent usually make them pay for their mistakes. Leeds created enough opportunities, especially in the first 35 minutes of the match to go up 2 may 3 nil. But they lack the individual quality to finish as clinically. That's not scheme or tactics, it's just evidence of how far coaching can take you. Great coaching can make average players good to very good, but it cannot make them great, which is what Spurs and other top 6 clubs have. Had Leeds managed to finish on two of these opportunities the game would have been different. JM"s tactical skill, however, does not make his team more creative going forward in the attacking third. They are still basically relying on Kane and Son to be extremely clinical and to nick goals in off counters; they still have not shown the creativity that Leeds has, for example, at breaking down low, congested blocks to create opportunities if not finish them. This will haunt them against superior competition.

Many people forget that the top teams in the premier league have been in this division for years and that they are comprised of world class players. The value of Leeds United players, by comparison, is the proverbial small change - a mere pittance! All but two of this squad were plying their trade in the second tier for the last two years.
And yet, Leeds United is matching the well-heeled big-hitters pound-for-pound, ounce for ounce. Revisit the games and observe that foolish individual errors and some dodgy decisions (re: especially Liverpool) have cost us dearly. We are babes in the woods and growing fast after our traumatic setback sixteen years ago. Give us time. We shall consolidate, re-establish and resume our rightful place among the elite of English and European football.

This is not to discedit nor to undermine the role of technology in football.
I was thinking, the other day, as I watched the manager and his assistant on the touchline studying computer-generated images: charts, graphs, statistics - that sort of thing. In the old days, managers and coaching personnel never had access to such luxuries yet they produced some of the finest most sublime players and performances ever seen in the history of the game.
They didn't need all the charts and diagrams and whatever else. The legends: Shankley, Busby, Nicholsen, Revie, Cullis and the myriad of continental and South American coaches HAD IT ALL, VISUALISED IT ALL AND LIVED IT ALL IN INSIDE THEIR HEADS.
To reaffirm: no disrespect to modern coaches and technology. Only an observation to share.
    Ivan Pillay in South Africa.

Mourinho has his mistakes, but you can't deny that he is the best manager at adapting his team. It's like moulding paste! And from a manager and analytic of the game, it isn't boring at all to see!
Bielsa has amazing tactics and an unique capacity of learning his teams' strenghts and weaknesses. However, I think the man thinks too much of the football, and often the game is played without it.
