They changed the rules around M14 so that the game no longer tracks specifically which effect you used to play an extra land drop, just compares the number of lands you can play this turn with the number of lands you have already played. (CR 305.2) Thus, flickering Exploration or Azusa no longer lets you make even more additional land drops.
Totally agree. I really appreciated the extended deckbuilding and sideboarding decisions. It was a really complicated pool with so many intersecting parts.

34:00 logic of Reclaimer being slow is my exact reasoning behind thinking that should have just splashed greed for Tamiyo and went with a kitten hightide snap version of the deck. This makes the mana more explosive and adds combo turn consistency. I would have went full combo cutting Strix for Talisman (boarding in Strix against aggro) and cutting: Reclaimer, Exploration, Ramunap, Leovod for: Kitten, High Tide, Snap, Tamiyo I think this is the best game 1 configuration of just going hard on your own combo and then ability to board in lands package, escape, and Opus against slower decks boarding in strix against aggro.
I think cutting black wasn't thought about enough? Bowmasters, Leovold are really good with draw 7s but the rest of the deck is soo good anyway. Would stress the manabase less too for maybe High Tide shenanigans

It only has 1 copy of each card. That said, sometimes (not this time) he plays league drafts, where you can get paired with people who weren’t in your draft pod. In those games you do have the chance to see repeat cards between your deck and the opponent’s.
I don't get it, with so many draw7s and other draw spells, why not play 41 cards. For real? If you open a total new way to fight your opponent, you are not diluting your deck. Makes no sense to me.

Especially if you got a lot of tutors and draw effects it makes no sense not to play 41 or even 42 cards, if your deck gets a totally new angle. LSV often had several combos in his decks, but not fully developed, although one more addition would have finished the combo. I disagree on this.

Look it in this way, if you add 1 card, you are changing the %likelihood of having your most desired card by maybe 1%? (Maybe one can calculate this. However, this is rather difficult I think as the calculation has to be a geometric one I think.) The main question is hence simply, does your overall win-% change more than 1% if you add a new angle. I would say, often yes. Especially in such a complex cube.

That's the worst part about Vintage Cube. While you're always trying to achieve broken stuff there are games where you simple don't need skills at all to win or lose.. Channel is such a stupid card even in a Powered Cube. p9 extremely boring...
That's honestly why we don't play absurd fast mana cards like Sol Ring, Moxes, Lotus, Tolarian/Cradle, Crypt, Vault, Grim, Basalt, etc. I'd rather the games be actual games instead of being decided turn 1 or 2.
@@MiauZi69 Tolarian is pretty opposite of fine man, it's a land that takes no effort to be consistently tapping for UUU+. Grim also leads to a lot of non-games. Basalt is balanced but we opted to just cut most of the non signet/talisman style mana rocks.
Why have the last 4-5 drafts been the same damned cards? LSV, can you please draft something else? We understand the strategy of Underworld Breach + Brain Freeze. Play something else for fuk’s sake.

This was hardly "4c soup". You could reasonably argue this was Sultai splashing Breach, though this was more of a UG deck than anything else.
