The DA*50-135 is a stellar lens, my favourite, along with the DA*300. Great at f2.8 for portraits and bokeh.
A superb lens. Thank you for your video
Great to see another K3 shooter those photos were enjoyable to see. Love the Pentax colours. I’ll be interested to see your 12-24 mm photos. I have the same lens as well as the 18-135 and 24-70. Love them all. Remi
Thank you Remi! Haven't tried the 18-135mm or 24-70mm but I have seen great results from them.
Thank you, for covering this "forgotten" lens. Is there a reason you shot manual focus this time? More silent so as to not scare the birds?
Hi Arjen, Not really but that is a good point. I manually focus because I have quick and complete control of the area I want to be in focus. With auto focus I'd need to move the focus point around to select the exact focus point and I find that takes too long.
Great video, I recently bought the 50-135 to use with my K-5 & K-70 for outdoor dog photography, I find that the AF is super slow, thinking of selling the 50-135 to fund the DA* 200 2.8 lens. Only problem is I don't know if the AF is any faster on the 200mm?
Haven't tried the DA* 200mm Lee, being a prime it may offer quicker auto focus performance. I find the user reviews on Pentax forums to be quite useful, here is a link to reviews on the DA* 200mm lens by people who have bought and used the lens. www.pentaxforums.com/lensreviews/SMC-Pentax-DA-Star-200mm-F2.8-SDM-Lens.html
