    The Drumbrute Impact has an absolutely fantastic sequencer, but a lot of folks seem divided on it's analog drum sounds. I thought it would be fun to run all of those sounds through the Korg NTS-1 to try and make them a bit bigger, and in my opinion, it worked! I can't wait to run the drums as individual outs and use multiple effects with this awesome drum machine. Enjoy the video :)

    Can't wait to see the vid with individual outs through effects. That's a possible selling point for me. Being able to run each sound through wildly different effects for some bizarre drums, even if they wind up sounding more like an industrial manufacturing plant than anything you'd call drums... that's something I could use in my setup.

    Haha, can’t wait for you to connect the NTS1, Zoom ms70, smpl trek, XFM and what more effects you got!? Gonna look real fun:) And I’m being more and more tempted to buy this! I had my eyes on Volca Drum, wish you could do a comparison video. For just a little bit more this seems like a much better value. But I wanna build a Volca orchestra.

    • @FreeBeat

    Sweet. I've had a love/hate relationship due to its minimal sound sculpting, barely there velocity options, and lackluster cowbell and toms, but I had a hunch external effects might liberate it a bit. Thanks for renewing my affection

    The kick on this thing is already great for techno. I'm gonna have to try the kick solo into the NTS-1 to build up a nice rumble... Might need a second fx chain for the snare...

    Don't know about a Drumbrute Impact per se, but is gradually considering adding another drum machine (I have a RD-6, but mainly use a DAW for percussion tracks) if not a sampler to load various drum kits into. Then again, I've also been pondering actually learning some sound design to craft my own analog kick with my Korg Monologue or one of my soft synths such as the MS-20.

    • @FreeBeat
      @FreeBeat  ปีที่แล้ว

    If I remember correctly, you can change in the Midi control center how the mute behaves. Then you can step out the mute function and the mute status remains, you can play as you want, and then unmute it with shift+mute.

      @@danhectic5629 Gosh, I've run it through a bunch. My EQD Astral Destiny ambient reverb gets used on a lot of stuff ... even using it on vocals for something I'm working on. Delays are good.
