    Awesome video mate. I literally just found and saved these at an e-waste outlet. I think they are a gen 3 though. You just inspired me to do a deep clean and make a video on them as well. Can't wait to try them out 👍😀

      Thank you Alan. You are welcome. They are Acrylic Glue (Liquid). You will find them easily in art supplies shop. They are normally sold in glass bottle. You can use a small paint brush to apply if you cannot get any syringe.

    Hi, thank you very much for the videos. I have a Soundsticks III, but one of the sticks (RCA one) is not working. I am sure that the speaker is fine, though. So, the issue is with the speaker output connector. I have checked online but couldn't find a replacement. Do you know where can I find it? Many thanks.

      Could it be your System Preferences // Sound // Balance (Left) |--------------------||--------------------(Right).
      Check if one side has more gain than the other.

      As for the Sub-woofer Bowl...when you start closing the 2 bowls together...pay attention to the plastic rails...The top bowl have these "Sliding Catch" they have to lock to the bottom bowl rails...you need to try rotate the top and bottom bowl in opposite direction to let the catch meet the rails. Keep trying to rotate and find the catch. They will meet and secure together...after when they are lock up together then you can put the rubber band into the groove.

    Hi bro, I'm having trouble installing the big rubber. Is there a solution?

    • @divisionbreak
      @divisionbreak  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Once you push the rubber down....try to feel the edges of the plastic feet then push down further side ways to like insert the thin opening all round the rubber. Or use a ruler or toothe pick to pry open the thin rubber feet edges to loosen it alittle before fitting it back to the plastic feet. If you find it too troublesome. Then just ignore the rubber feet....Buy some circular FELT sticker pads to stick on it. But usually those are at least 15-20mm diameter........So long there is some cushioning for the woofer.

    • @divisionbreak
      @divisionbreak  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Saidy you probably need to replace a new wiring or if you can try to solder the wire that was cut then seal up with heat shrink.

    Hi, Thanks for the videos. I removed the big box because I have the boomer which makes a "noise" (without music). After removing the boomer I also hear this noise coming from the 2 soundsticks too.
    The noise starts 15 seconds after plugging in the power supply. It stops when I plug the usb cable on my mac but restarts immediately after. I cleaned everything and put spray (for electronic contacts) but the noise persists. I did not find the problem (maybe a component of the Harman motherboard). What do you think? If you have an idea I'm interested. Thanks

    • @divisionbreak
      @divisionbreak  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Unhook the whole Harmon Kardon Soundstick from your Macintosh and plug it to another source, ie: iPhone or iPad and play some music to see if the "noise" persist.

    • @mauricebacquias3464
      @mauricebacquias3464 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@divisionbreak I did the test and there is no parasitic noise in the right and left Soundstick. I wonder if there is a problem with the USB cable which seems to be shielded because when I manipulate it, the noise disappears but comes back. I will continue to investigate... Thank you for answering me.

    • @divisionbreak
      @divisionbreak  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You are welcome Maurice...that means the parasitic noise is not coming from the HK soundstick system itself. It could be dirty electric current coming from other components. You can try to swap another USB cable and see. Let me know again. Otherwise it could be your USB converter? But very unlikely coming from the Mac.....unless your Apple mac is an aging one (7-10 years)....

    Hi, thanks for the video. My Subwoofer is making strange crackling noise. Could you recommend a replacement speaker for the Woofer? :)

    • @divisionbreak
      @divisionbreak  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Robert try check that big rubber seal surrounding the woofer if it is sitting properly. It should be snug fit in between the upper part / lower part of the woofer. Crackling or rattling sound could be coming from the plastic vibrating with each other if the rubber seal is not tuck in between the groove. Try unscrew the 4 bottom big screws to loosen the whole sub woofer upper/lower body..re-align/re-fit the rubber seal as you reassemble the woofer body together. Tighten back the screws again and see if the crackling sound continues. If it is from the woofer speaker...you have to hunt for a new one. I remember seeing once on ebay quite a while back.

      @@divisionbreak Hi, many thanks for your reply! I checked the speaker chassis and it was still fine (I thought of a torn membrane, after almost 20 years of duty), the seal was also in place. BUT --> the four smaller screws which tighten the holed speaker protection plastic shield at the bottom were slightly loose. 😕 Tightening them fixed the crackling.🙄 Easy but effective. So, thanks again, your hint brought me to look into this.

    • @divisionbreak
      @divisionbreak  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ahhhh great great! You are welcome Robert. Great you manage to solve it. Rattling can occur too if you push the subwoofer volume too high I tend to keep the volume knob indicator at 10-11 am hardly at 12pm. And also I added some cheap felt pads at the 4 subwoofer feet to give more cushioning.

    • @robertwildgruber6560
      @robertwildgruber6560 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Exactly, same here -> volume knob between 10-11, then the sub works in the optimum range for me. 🙂 Will try to add some felt pads, too, maybe it will improve, but mine stands on a carpeted floor.

      I've just saved a pair of these speakers and sub from landfill! I decided to give it all a warm soapy wash too. Was a fiddle getting that rubber band back in place 😳, such a brilliant sound 👌🏻

    Hi sir, got a HK soundstick II, but got an issue. The volume is at the bottom and the + button doesn`t work .. Any idea`s? Thanks a lot!

    • @divisionbreak
      @divisionbreak  ปีที่แล้ว

      On the power again. Press the silver ( - ) | ( + ) volume button at the right speaker together with your 2 thumbs to mute. Then try pressing the ( + ) a few times to see the sound comes back. Otherwise check the RCA pins. Try fidgeting / small twisting a little at the male + female RCA pins. If totally no sound could mean you need to replace a new Power AC Adapter. I just replaced mine too when I have no sound few months ago.

    How do you get the plastic piece safely out of the feet without breaking them

    • @divisionbreak
      @divisionbreak  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      First remove the rubber feet then use 2 metal ruler or any flat material...slightly slot in the gab & grip them hard & pull the plastic stopper out. You have to use some strength to pull them out. It wont break, don't worry.

    • @divisionbreak
      @divisionbreak  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi John thanks for the offer. I am not sure how much to charge you, I am not a professional & it is going to cost quite a bit just to get that woofer ship around the globe. You can try follow the steps in the video...the 4 main screws to separate the base is priority, then the 4 screws sub woofer cap, then the volume knob will help you loosen the circuit board...cleaning can begin...
