What’s a really good movie?....in my opinion a really good movie is a movie you keep watching again and again, and every time you watch it again some things, sometimes minor things, grab your attention, not having noticed them earlier.... and thus amazingly surprising you again and again....and indeed LOTR is such a movie!👍
I was too young to watch them in cinema. I saw them multiple times on DVD and blu-ray and last year I went to an LOTR-marathon will all Extended Editions in one day. It was such a great experience to see these beautiful movies on the big screen. The rohirim screaming "DEATH" on the Fields of Pelennor, the last march of the ents, The Battle of Helms Deep, Gandalf's fight against the Durin's Bane, Samwise fighting Shelob, The Crack of Mt. Doom,... I have to stop myself from continuing 😅 watching these movies in cinema was like a dream come true. No Godfather, no The Dark Knight, No Shawshank Redemption, no Apocalypse Now, not a SINGLE movie will ever be better than The Lord of the Rings to me. Their characters and their music, their stories and their battles, their suffering and their joy, it all became a part of me and of my life. And I carry them with me.
Menonin Cunnilingus LoTR and Harry Potter were the last cinematic events before the superhero hurricane that destroyed cinema. It’s really embarrassing what is popular right now.
@@Diapontios Yeah I agree. Absolutely no seriousness, grandeur, vision, moral core or cultural depth. Every blockbuster film is just soulless, shallow, inane spectacle.
I feel privileged to have grown up with my Dad reading me the books and taking me to the cinema to watch the films. Seeing J.R.R Tolkien and Peter Jackson creating two wonderful pieces of work, that together are an absolute masterpiece.
I remember crying like a baby in the theater while that song was playing. The deep meaning of it, the end of a personal era. Still my crying song of choice if I need a trigger. Here we go, smartphone drowning...
I've just been going though all the videos on your channel and I'm here grinning like an idiot because you've done my favourite movies of all time. Thank you for the time you've put into this.
Epic journey, epic friendship, epic love, epic bravery. Selflessness, courage, hope, heroism, beautiful emotions... No evil intentions, no selfish desires, no 'lets also understand villain's feelings" shit. We need more epic movies and journeys like LOTR.
While I agree that we need more epic stories, diving into villain emotions isn't inherently bad, just badly executed a lot. Smeagol is a complex villain, for example, while Sauron isnt
I love LOTR so much, one of the greatest pieces of fiction, literature and cinema ever created, but I feel like the reason it is so great is because it was written during a certain time period, I don’t know if LOTR would be as well-received if the books were written today or the movies were made now, but that’s just me, I want to know other people’s opinions😁😁
I love this channel because it makes me see how fortunate I am to have grown up with story's like LOTR, Harry Potter, Star Wars, and many more. Keep it up.
The scene where Faramir charges the Osgiliath' orc camp has some incredible shots. But I guess it wouldn't fit here where you put the biggest and most epic shots mostly.
The thing that makes it powerful is that it isn't an orc camp, the entirety of osgiliath(the capital of Gondor) became an army base of sorts, and a couple dozen guys were sent to reclaim it
@@zaidlacksalastname4905 That ofc, but also how the horses look and the men in clanking massive armor, while the orcs are complete opposite. Absolutely riveting, even without context.
This is awesome. Perfectly encapsulates the spirit of some of my favourite movies ever so yeah I love this. If I were to make one suggestion it would just be to use multiple pieces of music if you're gonna make a video this long. I love Into the West but perhaps another track would help
Such a wonderful and very fitting compilation of such an amazing trilogy of films, that song works so well. A suggestion I think would work really well is the Sam Raimi Spider-Man Trilogy.
I love how all shots are beautiful. Not only wide shots, panoramas and landscapes like in some films. Everything: close-ups, portraits, battle scenes, inside and outside, at night (you can actually see what’s going on!) and during the day (the work with the light is spectacular). The landscapes in particular are fascinating as well, partly because almost all are real places. Superb work both by the crew and by the editor!
Late in the evening of Sept.11 last year, as I was watching the third of the LOTR trilogy, The Return of the King, there was a knock on the door of my quarantine room. Outside, my sister spoke to tell me that our beloved mother has passed away in the silence of the night. Her cancer-ravaged ageing body couldn't take the pain any longer. And this song kept playing in my ears during the days of her wake, interment and burial.
The most beautiful story ever told and the most beautiful world ever made by the best author/creator ever existed and his inconceivable deep and rich imagination!!! We left our hearts in Middle - Earth Professor, may Eru rest your generous soul...
I like most of Peter Jackson movies so much, and his capabilities in world building are amazing. The filming of the LOTR saga and brain dead aka dead or alive, l like the styles of the both.
I'm actually crying while watching this video. Lord Of The Rings has a very special place in my heart and this song, oh, it's almost impossible not to get emotional when listening to it. Such a wonderful video ♥
Love this!!! I would also love to see a "the beauty of"either Harry Potter, the memoirs of a geisha, Avatar and/or pride and prejudice (2005), which all have amazing soundtracks and cinematography
Even more than the movies, the books are part of my soul, even, part of my spirit. I find myself quoting them even without realizing that is where the words came from. Tolkien truly wrote master pieces of Literature! I wish the elves had not left. I wish the gods and goddesses had not encouraged them to return home.
I saw the first triology of the Lord of the Rings before Christmas and after it, I saw the 3 of them again in 4K! Goodness gracious me! What a difference there was! I was blown away! 🥰😄🙌🏻
I was fortunate enough to see the extended version of Return of the King in a theatre a few weeks ago, for the 20th anniversary. What an absolute treat.
I always see this video, start it, decide I would rather watch it on a bigger screen than my phone, and then forget about it. This has happened multiple times
I only came to see if there was a commentary on the cinematography or something. There isn't but I can't take my eyes off it to leave, so beautiful and the music just brings back all that made LOTR such an experience. I'm a kiwi and so proud that we could produce this kind of story-telling magic. Unique and original in an industry so strapped by suits and marketability.
Okay, I almost held it together through this video, but that last shot of Frodo boarding the ship to the havens, finally at peace, just had me lose it. Man, I remember sobbing like a baby in the theater all those years ago.

Yes. The dearth of quality filmmaking of comparable scale, grandeur and mythic power since these films were released only shows how special they are.
