- The young Haflinger stud colt named Quest is just a few hours old, but he learns his first lesson from Mom. Give her a little space after a long night of giving birth. As you can see, Quest is a quick learner. The second time mom goes for a roll he keeps a cautious distance. The mom is Classic Beauty SGH with her first colt, Waltzing Quest SGH. Quest has a funny mark on his head that looks a little like a question mark. Hence the name.
What a good mom, she checks on him immediately after. And hey, better he learns it now than when he's put out in the pasture with big horses who won't just give him a little tap!
Awwww... what a sweet, loving mother. She felt bad and got up quickly to check her baby. Wonderful mother!
One time my toddler snuck behind me and I thought there was a bug on my arm... her face is fine now.

Mama was rolling which is normal and perfect horse behaviour and I think that rolling a thing a little horse should learn about as well.
Mama was giving the message I need to have a roll or two. And here is why!

Please, gret that halter off of the mare
schleich movie maker though they did say it was after a hard night of labor. My friends vet told us to leave the halter on for 24 hours after the birth in case of complications that happen later on. It could just be a safety precaution for the mare. :)
