    Thanks for putting that bit about using a mix to open/close the drag rudders. I set that mix so I can close drag rudders for transport too, I simply put the mix active with throttle cut on (EDFs disabled). That way I don't have to manually close the drag rudders for transporting the model/putting it back in the box.

      firefoxussr31, How do you do this mix that you mentioned? The mix mentioned in the video relies on me flipping the switch for right and left, how can the mix you mention handle both sides attached to throttle cut? Love the idea. Thank you

    You the man I set up mine the way you instructed and walla it works great and i turned of the mix so I won't make a boo boo while flying 👍👍

      you can do what I did, i setup the mix only active with throttle cut on. i'm doing that so i can close the drag rudders for transport without forcing them closed manually.

    Great setup video! Love Solt's but you had a few great pieces of advice that would have made it way faster. In fact, I'm going to double check it all again.

    Good video, using your method I cant adjust the drag rudder push rods short enough when the drag rudder doors are clamped shut. Do I need a shorter push rod?

    Awesome Video…do you leave the travel in subtrim at 70 or do you take it back to 100 once you get it set up?

    • @TheRCAirMarshall
      @TheRCAirMarshall  ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s been a minute, but I do believe I left it at 70. Leaving it at 100 would cause the servos to bind.

  • @shermanbellmyer3297
    @shermanbellmyer3297 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Quick question did you leave your servo travel at 70% or did you return it back to 100% travel?

    • @TheRCAirMarshall
      @TheRCAirMarshall  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It’s still at 70%. To get the drag rudders to have 45mm spacing at neutral, that’s the travel that worked the best for me without stressing the servos. You could use this method using 100% travel, just understand that the clamshells will be open to closer to 55-60mm at neutral rather than the 45mm as called out in the manual.

      Thank you so much for sharing the information, and making set-up easier for the rest of us. Awesome videos.

    Hi Dave. Given the mixing board feeds in some aileron input to the drag rudders, are you concerned about setting up the clamshells to physically close with rudder input alone? At full rudder, any roll input (from the pilot or the gyro) is then going to try and force the clamshells to close even further...

    • @TheRCAirMarshall
      @TheRCAirMarshall  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I thought about it, but it’s honestly not that big of a concern, IMO. Each pilot is going to fly the way they want of course, but this really isn’t the kind of plane that needs a ton of rudder or aileron input in the first place. If you’re trying to snap roll a B2, I’d probably give myself a little more room in the clamshells. LoL 😂

    I know 8mm looks like a lot of up trim to me too when I did mine.

    What an awesome instructional video. Thanks for taking the time to do this. Did you use a Spektrum receiver? Any pointers on hooking up everything to the receiver?

    • @TheRCAirMarshall
      @TheRCAirMarshall  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I just used a Spektrum AR6610T Rx. Hook it up just as it is laid out in the plane. 1: Throttle, 2: Aileron, 3: Elevator 4: Rudder 5: Gear. There are no flaps, so I connected the gyro mode to channel 6. I just assigned channel 6 to the same switch where I would normally have my safe select/AS3X switch.

      Set everything up yesterday on my spirit, your procedure was outstanding. Thanks again. When are you flying your maiden?

    • @TheRCAirMarshall
      @TheRCAirMarshall  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hopefully soon. My work schedule is a beast, and every good day of flying here I’ve been out of town. 😂 Hoping for good weather next weekend.

      @@TheRCAirMarshall Flew my maiden yesterday. One click of down trim needed and a few clicks of left trim. Nose gear tracked right a little, once back home I noticed the left main gear and nose gear steering needed a little adjustment. The B-2 flies very good. I literally flew with 30-50 power and the plane moves. I was able to land it with no problem. Thanks again for the setup instructions. Somebody had mentioned using the prescribed rudder mix on their throttle cut for storing the plane in the box. Do you understand what needs to be done there? Seems like only one wings rudders would get stowed.
