I haven't had a lot of variety in beer, so I don't know if it's considered a good beer or not, but one of the few beers I've had that I like is Yuengling Hershey Porter; it's basically beer made with chocolate nibs, some like it and some don't.
I've wondered this myself. Sometimes just explaining what people are tasting helps them get past the "it tastes weird" to "I can taste the..." that gives them a handle they can hold on to as they begin exploring. Lots of good mild but interesting beers to start with.
I absolutely agree! Helping people understand the flavor profile other than “just taste like a beer” is a great way to help them figure out what they may be into. I for one do not like sours, simply because I don’t like sour fruit.

I'm very suprised that people only search for "Why do people hate beer" instead of "Why do people love beer". Most can't bear the smell and taste of beer, only a few people actually prefer beer taste than soda taste at the first try.
That is the thing I don't get -- people who NOW love beer but forgot that they hated their first sip of beer. Yet they don't understand why others didn't develop a taste for it. I was one who never developed the taste. I find it ironic that people that don't like beer have to find beers with other flavors in order to be able to like it. I plead guilty to that, so it isn't a criticism, but I'm like, if you have to go that far, why bother? Just find something you like and drink it. Never apologize for liking or not liking something. I'm not out to impress someone with my food or beverage consumption habits. And no, it isn't weird to like or not like something contrary to others. That's a myth that needs to go away.
I don't like beer, at all. I've had Blue Moon and Shocktop. They are both ok. As far as beers go, they have a milder taste and some complex flavors going on, which at least makes them interesting to drink. I'd recommend adding slices of orange into the bottles for both. It adds a bit of sweetness and more complexity to the flavor. The only other beer I've had remotely tasted good was Sierra Nevada's Banana Hefferweissen. I had it at the brewery's restaurant in Chico, Ca. It is a bit heavy, with a complex flavor that is banana-forward. The Rubaeus (which means "red" in Latin and is pronounced /roo-bay-us/) is the only one there that seems interesting. Maybe I will try it. I really dislike beer for several reasons. 1) They all literally smell like piss or funky. 2) They either taste like bitter water, piss, or heavily sour. 3) Their texture is either like water or weirdly thick and chewy. There are so many things better than beer: 1) wine 2) wine 3) ciders 4) ciders 5) mead 6) mead 7) whisky or scotch 8) a good vodka 9) an infinite number of cocktails. I can honestly say that I dislike all beer. I’ve tried most of them.
I’m 14 and I love this!!
Samuel Adams beers are disgusting so is Bluemoon and Leinenkugel beers both CoorsMiller products and so is shock top Anheuser Busch is product but the sierra Nevada little hazy is good and so is left hand it’s not bad the left hand milk stout not my favorite though there’s a lot better out there and milk Stout‘s and founders I boycotted don’t get me wrong they do have some good beers but I will not buy their beers anymore after what happened with them
u just said blue moon and i was out, i don’t trust u
Every beer is nasty, if you drink beer for the taste you are a weirdo, getting drunk is the whole point isn't it might as well drink root beer if you like flavor
My sentiments exactly

Bruh if that’s the only reason you drink beer then that is an unhealthy way to live 😂
you’re just a little ass kid. Kids like you wouldn’t understand. Grow up and get off the sweets and drink a beer and maybe you’ll develop a mature pallet.
