Jules, excellent review, that lens has very nice Bokeh, definitely a lens to consider. BTW, on a side note, your son is pretty brave wearing an Eagles beanie in the middle of NY. 😊 Anyway, enjoy your content, thank you.
@@leod1671 Thanks Leo. I really like the lens. I’ll be doing a side by side comparison of several 50 1.4’s in the new year. Happy holidays to you and your family.
@@kirgrushko Thank you. It’s my understanding that the 1.8 is the sharper lens but I’m into the fastest lenses now and wanted a 1.4 ever since the Z cameras were introduced. Happy holidays to you and your family.
Hi Jules as I am sure you own different Nikon 50mm f 1.4 or less fast can you compare this new one to the others ? Honestly even if this one is less expensive than the 50mm f1,8 S which doesn’t mean this one is good bargain but the other absolutely theft (..) I am a little frighten by the price of standard primes now… so the question is : does this new lenses really deserve their money or not ? A good comparison could be with the 50mm f 1.4 ai, the 1.8 afd, the 1.8 G… which are all between 2 to 5 times less expensive … so is it worth or just to increase Nikon margins ?
@@philmtx3fr I do plan on doing exactly that in the New Year. Not just with the 50’s, but with other focal lengths as well. My last video of 2024 will be comparing bokeh of various lenses wide open shooting my mannequin head with Christmas lights in the background. Thanks for watching and happy holidays to you.

Oh man, those foggy photos are awesome! I guess a 1.4 lens really shines in these conditions… Pretty happy with my 1.8 S version though…
