For those wondering, CaladboLg is a high A ranked Noble Phantasm, so this arrow most definitely took one of Berserker's 12 lives, Bersk's God Hand can only block B ranked attacks or below. He probably healed so quickly that it looked like he was unaffected.
Interestingly enough, in the VN, Berserker at the last minute senses that Caladbolg II is A-Rank level compared to the prievious arrows *and blocks it.* He was so freaking fast and had such good reflexes that he managed to block an arrow almost already at point blank range without losing any of his lives. o__o But I guess they thought the anime-only fans wouldn't be thrilled about Archer or Saber if that were to happen, specially since Berserker is eventually beaten quite easily in the UBW route, so they gave both Saber and Archer a kill on Herakles' God Hand that did not happen originally. Hah! :\

It's called "Caladbolg II". Archer encountered it some time in his life and added it to Unlimited Blade Works. It's a spiral sword, but he uses it as a arrow.
Caladborg actually looks really really impractical to use as a sword. It has a pretty short reach and its shape suggests that it can't really be used to cut or slash things. I can only see it being used to stab someone from close range, but it looks like using it as an arrow is way more efficient based on its shape. Otherwise using Kanshou and Bakuya looks much easier (and consumes less mana).

Archer real goal probably was to let know Illya that he could have killed her easily anytime. That's why she told to Rin afterwards that her Servant is "interesting".
Big Boss He couldn't exactly whip out UBW whenever he wanted to. It's stupidly mana intensive to sustain, and it would basically amount to revealing his trump card in the first battle of the War. It's also extremely noticeable to anyone with the ability to sense magecraft, and using it invites every Servant to come running to take them down after they've been weakened. Additionally, it's not even guaranteed to work, since in the Fate route, even with Archer going all out, he only managed to take out 6 of Berserker's lives before he died. Because he knew he couldn't defeat Berserker, he resorted to weakening him instead for someone else to finish the job, while at the same time taking out Saber to make Shirou easy pickings for later. He couldn't aim directly at Saber or else he might as well be asking for a Command Spell to keep him from antagonizing her and Shirou. Archer has only two objectives in the Grail War: 1) Win the war, and 2) Kill Shirou. Shooting at Berserker while secretly aiming to also kill Saber was the only action that satisfied both criteria in that scenario.
Ken Reyes He then later fix Shirou magic circuit and save him from caster. If he did want to kill Shirou for real, the only thing he need to do is...nothing.
Cường Nghiêm He said that he not only wanted to kill Shirou physically but also in spirit. So that the ideal to become a Hero Of Justice is wiped from the mind of Emiya Shirou.
Well, to be fair they're (servants) isn't normal in the first place. That's why Shirou said that to remind us, normal people will absolutely die when they're killed 🤔
Actually, yes. Berserker has 12 resurrections and he cannot be killed with same attack twice. To make it better, only attacks of A class or higher can actually hurt him. So it's a good way to throw out some impractical attack like this one early.
The problem with that is kind of that this version of Berserker regenerates lifes so throwing any attacks at him is useless. He regenerates a life and becomes immune to the attack. Also it didn't seem to actually take one of his lifes
Caladbolg actually is able to take Herc live once. Normally it is A+ rank. With tracing penalty it goes down to B+ but making it broken phantasm it goes back to A+ thus capable of taking one of the Hercules life.
Emiya really live up to expectations becoming a good archer I mean he quit but then he became a Counter guardian And Use his own skills aside from copying swords
Mitsuzuri highlighta why in the VN. The whole process of shooting the arrow is all mental for Shirou. The physical part is irrelevany to him hell she says that it looked like if anything the bow itself was in the way of his perfect image of his shot. He was an absolute monster as bow user. He really is very suited for the archer class.
For me, the brilliance of UBW isnt the animation but the sound design. The way they pushed the bass during the fights was genius and hasn't been done since. At least, not to my knowledge.
Sometimes I wonder, what kind of physique did Shirou grow up to have as EMIYA, cause archers that tend to use longbows have very strong and absolutely tough back muscles to counter the recoil of the bowstring, I believe Archer definitely has a very well developed and jacked back

Actually, yes. Berserker has 12 resurrections and he cannot be killed with same attack twice. To make it better, only attacks of A class or higher can actually hurt him. So it's a good way to throw out some impractical attack like this one early.
if i'm not mistaken, because his intention wasn't to kill berserker, he had hoped that shirou would caught into that explosion.

The problem with that is kind of that this version of Berserker regenerates lifes so throwing any attacks at him is useless. He regenerates a life and becomes immune to the attack. Also it didn't seem to actually take one of his lifes
Caladbolg actually is able to take Herc live once. Normally it is A+ rank. With tracing penalty it goes down to B+ but making it broken phantasm it goes back to A+ thus capable of taking one of the Hercules life.
Emiya really live up to expectations becoming a good archer I mean he quit but then he became a Counter guardian And Use his own skills aside from copying swords
Mitsuzuri highlighta why in the VN. The whole process of shooting the arrow is all mental for Shirou. The physical part is irrelevany to him hell she says that it looked like if anything the bow itself was in the way of his perfect image of his shot. He was an absolute monster as bow user. He really is very suited for the archer class.

For me, the brilliance of UBW isnt the animation but the sound design. The way they pushed the bass during the fights was genius and hasn't been done since. At least, not to my knowledge.

Sometimes I wonder, what kind of physique did Shirou grow up to have as EMIYA, cause archers that tend to use longbows have very strong and absolutely tough back muscles to counter the recoil of the bowstring, I believe Archer definitely has a very well developed and jacked back
