@@redfrog9717 er no, his bow is an unnamed bow that was tied into his legend. Though not made by the guy behind fate in kaleid prisma Ilya if you install the archer class you would only get the no named bow and not an arrow. neither mage are able to understand what the bow is nor it's name since there are no record of it (since it came from the future) and it is not a magical weapon like caladbolg, excalibur, or hrunting since the bow possess no ability. Hrunting is one of his arrow in fate Lore EMIYA need to draw and have locked into his target for 10 second to make the arrow to hound his target until it hit while in fate/another (well the one with the mooncell in case i named the work wrong) nameless will fire hrunting to lower the opponent stat (there are two hrunting skill that lower different stat) and you would notice he used the same bow when he fire caladbolg just like when he fire hrunting. When he used hrunting the arrow are colored red instead of the usual blue taken from hrunting name/title
Kinda crazy how Shirou is supposed to be an amazing archer while in high school. Sakura and classmates urge him to rejoin the archery club frequently, but he doesnt use a bow. He chooses to train with the sword the moment he sees Saber wielding one. But as EMIYA, he is summoned as an archer, bringing him back to his roots. Even then he chooses to use his swords more. Reflects who he is, he has his own talents and skills, but hes trying to be someone else he idolizes like Kiritsugu or Saber.
He's the only original Servant in the entire series. At the same time, he's also the least original Servant, as he basically just copies everyone else. That's a damn unique idea.
Daffyhat we can go around this the whole day, like kiritsugu is fate original and archer is also variation of the protagonist just like any of the others, but I get your point
I really like how Emiya's solution to everything is pretty much "SWORD". Need a weapon: sword, Need healing: Sword, Need an arrow: SWORD. Its rare to see such a simultaneously Silly and Badass powerset.
That's not really how Origins work, they can't really change from birth due to it being the "starting point" of one's existence; hence the name "origin." Bit more complicated than that, but Kara no Kyoukai goes into more detail in that aspect of the setting. What did change due to Avalon's implantation was his element, because it was in him for so long whatever his original element was, got changed to "sword" as silly as that sounds.
It's notable that Archer was powerful without a legend. Normally, Heroic Spirits get their power from how famous, or infamous they are. Berserker's 12 Respawns wasn't an attribute to the Original Herakles but rather a result of the tale of his 12 Labors. However there are ZERO tales about Counter Guardian Emiya. What we're seeing is his true strength and almost nothing more.
@@narutardkyuubi Is the second part of the statement confirmed? Because my point is more that the summoning itself being messed up could drop Archer down. I vaguely remember reading something about Ryuunosuke's summoning errors, and someone else making this point before hand. I mean, I know Rin's got the largest Prana reserves by a _Wide_ margin. (40,000 units was it? Compared to Shirou's like two-hundred some.) Shinji and Kuzuki aren't really mages. Caster shouldn't really count, neither should Sakura after munching Gil. Bazett is dead, Kirei is more average in mana count if I remember correctly. (Though he has his spooky healing prowess) I remember hearing something about Illya having the ability to generate so much Prana her body starts to disintegrate, but only through hearsay. Who's left? Zouken? Not a tremendous power-house from my understanding.
@@narutardkyuubi Reading more into Gilles summoning there's nothing to indicate that the summoning being of adversely affected his abilities, since Ryuunosuke's personality was the perfect catalyst. Rin's pendant could similarly be called the perfect catalyst for Archer. It seems like I've been spreading misinformation, sorry about that.
Doesn't that kind of make no sense though? After all, if Archer was summoned not because he was famous or infamous but simply because something of his was used in the ritual, why wasn't Shirou summoned instead? The very fact that he beats Archer implies he's stronger, and as such would be equally valid as a Heroic Spirit. Heck, technically Rin keeps the item afterwards, meaning that it's as much hers as it is his, so what's to stop it from summoning Rin from a different point in time, regardless of whether or not she's famous?
... That’s wrong, all the different routes are the same Emiya, Archer comes from a fourth timeline. The circumstances are simply different, in Fate, Archer is too injured by Saber for most of the route to pull off his plan, in UBW, Archer tries to kill Shirou through the use of Caster to get out of his contract with Rin and in Heaven’s Feel, they have bigger fish to fry thanks to Avenger’s awakening. Shirou is implied not to regret his life in any of the three Main Routes, and his incantation is a result of his experience with Archer. No Shirou in any of the three Routes become Counter Guardian EMIYA. That’s it, sorry.
Thank you, Nasu literally stated that the Shirou's from the 3 routes all have a very small chance of becoming Archer and that the original Archer came from a timeline similar to fate where he wasn't able to save Saber
Emiya to gilgamesh: "there's nothing that says a copy can't be just as strong as the original" AniNews: "Because theyre copies they'll never be as strong as the original" Emiya: Am I a joke to you
Yeah, one copy could only hope for a mutual destruction against the original (wink shirou vs gilgamesh wink), but what's to say about multiple copies? Or a broken phantasm?
@@faresdadi9263 true the copies are always a rank weaker than the originals but since he can turn them into broken phantasms they regain that rank and deal as much damage as the original. Except it either breaks or blows up afterwards
Love the video but one minor detail, Archer isn't a version of Shirou from any of the routes. Fate route: doubles down on his philosophy but his love for saber means he keeps his promise to strive for her with his soul eventually resting in Avalon Alongside her's Unlimited blade works:Rin keeps her promise to archer to prevent shirou walking the same path and helps to keep Shirou grounded. Additionally, he accepted the contradiction inherent to his philosophy and wouldn't fall into despair Heaven's Fell: Completely abandoned it for the sake of one person
Tobias Ahlin Well regardless of she was or not, Shirou doesn't become a Counter Guardian in UBW either. If the anime ending is anything like the VN, then Rin stayed with Shirou for a couple years but they seperated on good terms to follow their own dreams.
I played all three routes, it was just unclear to me if there was any real love Rin had for Shirou or she felt it more of a duty. But then it is correct to take it as she did end up liking Shirou. Felt that it was more oblivious that she liked him in the third route then the second one, which feel bit weird. Guess they went thru a lot more in that route thou.
Tobias Ahlin The logic of people falling in love in a time span of just over two weeks shouldn't really be questioned that much. Though Shirou technically had at most a crush or at least an admiration for Rin before the game, so sort of meeting half way. Rin... I can't say for Rin other that her liking Shirou for being good to Sakura and then projecting herself or looking at him objectively making her love him too.
Archer's magic detection is one of the best ones in the entire series, he can detect traces of magic when people like Rin could not. This is not shown directly to us, but we can see Shirou doing it, and as Shirou is Archer, well... Also, two of his most powerful weapons, Caladbolg and Hrunting are actually different versions than the originals, meaning they are new weapons on their own, both Caladoblog II: Fake spiral sword and Hrunting: Hound of the Red Plains which have different effects than the originals. Same goes for the Rho aias, that is an original shield created by Emiya based on the legend of Ajax. And for last, with reinforsment he can upgrade his NPs to match the power of the original, but there is no need to make it a BP, as the BP its even stronger, not due to making it better but due to the acumulated prana inside of them, that would make an explosion. Emiya is one of the most broken servants that exists, the only down side, is that he doesnt care to win at all, you could say that Archers that shoot swords have the same weakness, themselves. Also his stats are quite poor :P
Small complaint about the abilities, you pretty much skimmed over Eye of Mind as if it wasn't that powerfull while it is the very reason he is able to fight Lancer 1 on 1 without dying. Eye of Mind allows him to not just predict the enemy, it allows him to think tens of steps ahead of his opponent, this skill is the sole reason he can fight close quarter experts as a "human" and put up a fight while being physically weaker in both speed and strength
Boota how come he didnt know medea would Use innate time control when he had slashed her at the start? Or was that just not a outcome he thought he’d come
the reason he wasnt killed by lancer in an instant i because lancer was ordered to "hold back" with a command spell. cu chulainn also has "protection from arrows" which makes him immune to projectiles of all kinds making it impossible for emiya to win against him even gilgamesh had problems fighting cu since he couldnt hit him with his gob. in the fate route saber almost otk´ed him without using her full strength and under a weak master. in ubw he was almost killed by lancer the moment he got a bit serious. "eye of the mind" is a strong ability but almost every archer class servant has it as well as many servants of other classes so its in no way unique to him either. emiya is weak for an archer and for a servant in general.
If I'm not wrong, it is stated that Cu's Protection from Arrows doesn't grant him immunity against EMIYA's broken phantasms because they explode on impact.. it is even stated on TYPE-MOON...
One of the reasons why i don't really like the extra verse timeline. (It isn't even the real/same EMIYA anymore, more like a compilation of people or concept of a hero of justice that just happened to look the same and ended having similar abilities on the mooncell. The person used as a base might have been the same but not anymore now, hence why he is called Nameless)
yarigold Not really Nameless is just a different EMIYA actually he is a true HS since Nameless actually became a legend is just that when he ascended, due to his legend, he became the embodiment of "hero of justice" thus "losing his name". Well if you dont believe me you can play the extra game or read about him in the wiki.
yarigold Nope, Nameless is still shiro. It's just that through his alternate fsn route, he got to become a heroic spirit the real way-through fame in life- as opposed to only through the counterforce. Evidenced by his remarks about rin, fighting against Sabers invisible blade, and his interactions with cu suggesting their history of fighting against each other outside of the extra timeline.
He made a contract with the mooncell instead of the counterforce and in return became a servant for the mooncell. He isn't a true HS since he becomes one by a contract with the mooncell. Taken from the wiki for "nameless": "As for the human who became his source, there is a person who spent his previous life as a personifier of justice in the past like that, but he is no longer said individual. This Heroic Spirit is the shape of a convenient “Hero of justice” that people desired, which started with the shape of that person. The person who became the source for this Heroic Spirit certainly exists, but by the time he was worshiped as a hero, his name as a human had been completely forgotten from people's memories and history Archer is described as being of the same "existence" as the Archer of Fate/stay night, but not the same "person."
C137 yeah bro especially since we got Shiroumasa which Boost him as the anti EA character almost making him actually create weapons that would be or could be stronger than the original, plus he could create divine weapons which are originals and that’s just his Saber class
Archer is completely broken, not only has he an almost infinite arsenal of A+ waepons with his broken phantasms he is also skilled enough to fight lancer, saber and assasin and even berserker in single combat. It´s kind of sad we have never seen him play to win as he never really fought in his preferred terretory as an archer from distance, but i think if the grail war would be fought like in zero he would be the most likely to win.
I imagine he did go all out vs heracles, since that was a 1v1 until he died with noone around. He does get 6 kills out of it which is cleanly the best anyone does vs heracles in a 1v1 so he’s certainly 2nd out of the servants summoned for the 5th war. As for him fighting at range, the broken phantasms fire pretty slowly, and the hollow ataraxia bridge fight shows that getting in close, although it generally need command seal aid, does him in, and he fights much better at close/mid range to keep his defences on point. But yeah, UBW is gate of babylon lite, which still makes it one of the all time strongest NPs. And since shirou has the worst stats of the 5th war and is impossible to get fame boosts, him being the second strongest servant summoned shows how insanely busted UBW is. If he wanted he could be stealing servants with rule breaker, cheesing out kills with gae bolg.
@@cephery8482 theorically he could also beat Berserker due to having access to Nine Lives Blade Works (which takes 9 lives) and he is able to take 6 normally, however he probably could tie at best against Saber with either a psuedo Excalibur or Triple Linked Crane Wings
@@Azusashusband personally i think archer did go all out vs berserker cause there was a real lack of people around and nothing to gain by hiding it. I also think 6 is pretty accurate for how far he could get solo, and i think that anyone else that was summoned for the 5th war is barely reaching 2.
Woah hold on. Fate Shirou is NOT UBW Archer. That has already been confirmed in the VN and by Nasu. In ALL the routes, they are all the same Shirou from a different timeline. While its true that his journey was similar to Fate Shirou's, Nasu said that something major was missing and he never managed to save Saber from her fate. In fact, you could say Archer is the Shirou that never got any development from any of the routes and never came in terms with himself. So he carried on Kerry's empty ideals till the end of his days. All three shirou's had resolutions in their respective routes, allowing them to move on with their lives. Fate Shirou finally came in terms with his own past, after realizing that he too always desired to go back and redo his past like Saber, but tried to ignore that feeling by trying to run away from the memories of the past. He finally decided deep down that it would be wrong to try to redo his past because that would be ignoring/disrespecting all the suffering that happened already. After his time with Saber, Fate Shirou's empty ideals were enriched and strengthened to the point that he made it his own. UBW Shirou came in terms with his future and his ideals, realizing that he'll never accomplish his dreams, but saving the world was never the most important thing for him, but rather the beauty of the path. He changed kerry's empty ideal with his own hands and made it his own. HF Shirou threw away the ideal and decided to live in the present with Sakura. He came to the realization that its okay to priotize his and Sakura's happiness over others. While he threw away an important thing to him, he found an equally important person in his life. Anyway, just wanted to clear that up.
@@husamstarxin4626 OP is pretty spot on. Nasu said in at least one interview that Archer's life was mostly the same but missing something. " It was a world where the conditions at the beginning of the war were mostly the same, but something was missing. Shirou summoned Saber and fought until the end, didn't save Saber's heart but understood her, and they destroyed the grail together and parted... that's the image I have." Followed by Takeuchi likening it to an unwritten good end for the Fate route. There were apparently other interviews where he says the chance of a Shirou from one of the routes becoming Archer is close to none, but the UBW BD set 2 interview is the best citation I can find without wasting too much of my time. My take away is that the only thing that saves Shirou is loving and being loved by someone, or not knowing the world of magecraft like in Prisma Illya, If that condition is met there is almost no chance of him becoming a counter guardian.
I feel like his abilities and power is underplayed if you logically analyze their core nature. I think they just put limitations on him just so that he won't be overpowered or overshadow the other servants. His battle experience should far exceed the other servants due to his time as a counter guardian. Ubw should be completely overwhelming because it's literally throwing noble phantasms at you. So what if they are one rank lower than the original, they are thousands of noble phantasms flying at you. Bar complete immunity, each weapon will deal lethal damage. This is not even an even comparison but can you imagine get hit by a thousand bb pellets at high speed. Noble phantasms copied still retain their unique abilities as shown with rule breaker. Possibly downgraded but the effects are still there. On top of the fact that the mastery skills and history associated to the weapon is also copied as shown with the use of nine lives. The extent of possibilities should be quite extensive going off of what it has been shown to be capable of but it got downplayed so badly. Even directly by nasu even though his work contradict what he says. Imagine if emiya took the time to collect all of the noble phantasms in the world.
+etherealnine It's not so much that the series downplays his abilities so much as the community cherry picking things that make him sound weak. The series keeps hammering in that he's not conventionally strong, but uses his abilities in such a way that his results are great. People typically just keep the first half of that line of thinking. A great example as to what EMIYA really is like is in Fate/complete material, where it says due to being a heroic spirit of the future, he receives no blessings of fame and has no noble phantasm, making him a "weak" heroic spirit, but can match or exceed other heroic spirits through UBW. It basically confirms that EMIYA is in a nerfed state throughout the series, and is technically speak perpetually unarmed(his projections are illusions after all). However, he makes up for his shortcomings. One of the things people love to cite against EMIYA is both Shirou's statement to Gilgamesh that he can't beat any other servant with UBW, and Fate/Side material saying that it's merely an annoying ability for most servants, but lethal to Gilgamesh. However, the same people will ree if you bring up that Gilgamesh says Shirou is stronger than him within UBW (showing they only keep the statements that they like). From my perspective, these statements are talking about the ability of UBW to copy and store his opponent's weapon and copy their history, not the sword spam Archer engages with, which is a technique of UBW. After all, if you fight someone with a slightly inferior version of them-self, they'll win. The hyper-literalist interpretation makes no sense. UBW Is usElesS AgAinst anYonE tHaT's nOt GilGamesh is basically saying that he can't beat Hassan or Medea, oh wait, he has without going all-out. What next? Astofolo, Anderson, and Shakespear are stronger than EMIYA? Also, if that were the intent of side material, complete material completely contradicts it. Here's the funny thing etherealnine. Complete material says that EMIYA's NPs exceed thousands, and Gilgamesh's arsenal is constantly referred to in the thousands. He pretty much already has (aside from divine constructs).
See I never understood that logic. With ubw deployed EMIYA is Literally Gil 2.0 but faster, albeit with less raw firepower, if you think about it like a human being that automatically makes him a high tier ass servant except against other heroic spirits with abilities specifically tailored to defense like God's hand and defense against arrows.
@@matthewmclean6574 Granted he may have less raw firepower but he can compensated with either swordspam using large quantity or utilize technique, activate ability of NP. While it true that it difficult for Emiya when dealing with heroic spirit who have defense abilities like god hand or protection from arrow consider how much he experience in battle during life and after being a counter guardian through combine with his unconventional way in fighting he should be able to find a way to overcome.
I agree, but mainly the battle experience. just from this alone he should outright surpass others in terms of skill and strategy, where other heroic spirits remain stagnant, Archer although doesn't get more powerful, he gets better and we rarely see it come into action(except for that one Heaven's feel part).
I have to say this... Even though some things that you said were wrong as pointed out by others in the comments wee deeply enjoyed this video on GARcher and truly appreciate it!
FAR AND AWAY my favorite magic/ability in anime/gaming/visual novels, etc. Idk, but UBW just works for me on every level. The chant, the Reality Marble, the fighting style that involves weapons crumbling away after a few strikes. It, along with Shirou's mentality, Archer's backstory and design, and their interactions with each other and other characters make him(them) my favorite characters in all of fantasy. Second is Guts. A close second.
He's my favorite hero in all of the series. For me his story was even more compelling due to his sense of morality being similar to mine. And the ending song always got me in the feels
Archer's Independent Action is especially interesting if you look at the rules for that ability and then look at what actually happened. The authors created a bunch of rules for the skill & then had him break every single possible rule they created, with him fighting substantially without a master, breaking the time limit, etc... As for his UBW, another interesting thing about his reality marble is the world does not attempt to destroy it, unlike with every other reality marble. This is thanks to him having a degraded version of the First Magic. This ultimately allows him to do a LOT more than most people realize. He doesn't only create swords and such. He creates reality - something which Shirou never grasped despite Archer revealing why Shirou has 100% accuracy with a bow. Anything he believes can be brought into reality. Even concepts... but this ability works a lot like Aureolus Izzard's reality control from A Certain Magical Index, wherein even the bad things he imagines can become reality, so if he can't imagine a reality wherein he can win, then he can't win.
The World IS attempting to destroy it, why do you think activating it requires him to spend Prana? Further, it’s IMPOSSIBLE for Reality Marbles to be any of the 5 Magics; the very nature of RM precludes that. That’s why RM are considered heretical by the Mage’s Association.
Not quite. It’s not that Reality Marbles are necessarily rare, it’s that Reality Marbles tend to be a sign of mental and spiritual instability. Reality Marbles are just creating a Bounded Field (which every half baked Magus can do), and then filling it with the user’s inner world. That last part is the clutch. Most humans don’t have an Inner World that fundamentally twisted to form a Reality Marble. Vampires tend to be the exception (due to their origin). What’s rare about UBW is that it’s useful at combat; most RM aren’t.
@@narutardkyuubi my mistake, i mean mage's RM is the one that the MA want to preserve. Of course, like you said most of them are outright crazy amd they would put them self in danger so the MA want to take the matter in their own hand
Seeing Archer turn into Shirou when he had his goodbye with Rin always gives me goosebumps. I just started following the Fate series again, last time I did was when it was on Animax.
You know, this video makes me want you to cover of topics in the Fate series. Particularly magic, like the different types and how they work, or maybe explaining how mages work as well. All of it is just so interesting to learn. And thank again for this video.
Type-Moon universe(which Fate is from) has an extremely complex "magical system" it has enough materials to write multiple essays on. covering it would be a series instead of a video. a very very long series. which would be awesome.
That's a VERY VERY deep rabbit hole you don't even want to dive in without proper research. Even you got word "Magic" wrong. Magecraft is a more prolific term in the Nasuverse than Magic. Magic is like a real game console no one can make, while Magecraft is just emulating that same console with potato hardware.
"It's not a 'jack of all trades, master of none' situation"? It is exactly a jack of all trades, master of none situation. It is canonically a jack of all trades, master of none situation.
That would be gilgamesh, who has all that he needs in his GOB but can't wield them efficiently (Mostly just throwing them at people till they die) EMIYA is literally the opposite, his projections might be one rank lower, but he still inherits the skills and stats of whoever wielded those weapons. He can be a master of any weapon type just by projecting any specific famous NP
@@faresdadi9263Wouldn't he just learn the skills to a certaiin level. he said to gilgamesh that his infinite swords would be useless agianst someone who mastered one
@@janwagner3020 That would be his physical body limiting him. Not his UBW being insufficent. Afterall the weapons that he projects are most often than not from demi-gods, people with dragon cores....etc Things that poor emiya can't exactly reach with his measly human body. So even if he projects caliburn and starts dishing out as much damage as Saber would. His bones would break after a few swings while Saber can keep at it for a week straight
I am sword man! But your an archer. I shoot swords with my bow! Wouldn’t it be better to shoot arrows? I have infinite swords! How does that help you you can’t hold infinte swords? I heal with swords too! Just be a Saber already
So basically Counter Hero Emiya is that player in a game with broken stats. Depending on how he is thinking determines how painful your fight against him will be. Excaliber on its own is simply deadly. Its noble fantasm would be deadly even by Emiya. Not to mention he could fire off Gai Bal Spears instead of swords which its ability is simply broken as well. Emiya on a bad day would make the terminator cry.
9:34 I always wondered why there is a chess piece there but I kinda understand now. It's actually symbolic and an ingenious one at that. It actually represents how Counter Guardian Shirou started out as a weak mage just like how you would see a pawn in a game of chess. Everytime a pawn moves, it gets closer to the end, but that end cannot be reached without fighting and struggling against stronger and, in every aspect, superior enemies just like how CG Shirou constantly fought for his life just to get to the end result that he *wanted* And when a pawn reaches the end, it can become virtually anything it wants, just like how CG Shirou got Unlimited Blade Works from Alaya as a reward for his efforts and struggles. The only difference is that Unlimited Blade Works wasn't the reward CG Shirou *wanted*
Wrong. He also has a bunch of weapons he encountered as a Counter Guardian. How do you think he has Rho Aias?Complete/Material III also flat out says he has thousands of stored weapons by the time he's summoned in the 5th HGW,most of which are Noble Phantasms.
@@BNF5005 Why didn't he use them then. Emiya may have that kind of tech* in UBW but he can't casually use them like the fanfics would have him do. *In the fighting game sense
@@motivationintensifies9558 How am I supposed to know why he didn't use them lol. Ask Nasu. It's probably plot reasons to keep his identity a mystery and he'll likely tell you not to think about it(like he usually does). But the fact of the matter is he does have them, because it is stated in canon. Saying he doesn't is fallacious. And it's nowhere stated or implied he can't use them. That doesn't even make sense because none of them are Divine Constructs. If he can use Rho Aias, which is a shield type NP and harder to use, he can use any of his stored NPs. Also he killed Herc 6 times in the Fate Route, so he obviously used NPs we don't see him project on screen.
I really hope Type/MOON adds Counter Guardian Emiya as a costume dress for Grand Order. The white cloak and fingerless gloves is just such a badass look, if I could dress Emiya in that look I'd use him more often.
What I find most interesting about emiya is even though his stats aren't anything special (besides his unlimited blade works) he actually is way more powerful as a counter guardian, he was never really supposed to be summoned as a heroic spirit but because he did save the world in the future he gained attributes to become one, now I'm not saying he’ll win against EA for gil but holy crap the man is a powerhouse ONTOP of that he still has all his abilities that was pointed out here so in short terms, go underdog!
Actually, the thing with Fate Emiya being UBW Archer and UBW Emiya being HF Archer is incorrect. It's true that Emiya is from an alternate Fate Route though and the Archer we see in Fate, UBW and HF is that alternate fate route Shirou. In none of these routes Shirou becomes Archer.
If you didn't know how to make a noble phantasm and the original is a pretty good version then no one would probably be able to beat it because they'd be focused on copying it exactly, even though the best idea would be to approximately copy it and then try to improve it I hope someone manages to understand my comment because I wrote it in what I think is a confusing way
2:31 they aren't loops, they are possibilities. And Shirou never becomes Archer in UBW at least, For the anime version of it Nasu even gave a written story script including scenes that made clear this Shirou wouldn't become Archer (and surpasses him).
Nasu had a script written that was added with the blue ray version, it wasn't in the anime because they cut those scenes out/changed it making the ending more vague.
Zaruian Read this and the answer that includes Nasu manuscript: anime.stackexchange.com/questions/31922/is-the-person-who-appeared-at-the-very-end-of-fate-stay-night-ubw-desert-scene Besides even in the visual novel version in the ending of UBW, you could read Shirou's thoughts and he pretty much states he couldn't picture his life without Rin. (Still don't know why they didn't showed that in the anime, would have been a nice Rin x Shirou moment considering the anime severly lacked on that part.)
Zaruian also a difference between archer and shirou is at the end of their Holy Grail Wars is that archer went through an alt fate route so his projection abilities need at least ( according to Nasu) 20ish years before he can even master UBW. Shirou meanwhile has skipped all those steps and can totally pull UBW out if he had enough mana. UBW Shirou has basically all of archer's skills by the end of the HGW, the only reason he'd lose if he fights EMIYA again is because servant bodies have baseline stats above humans.
And Archer in all fate routes is the alternative fate route Shirou. Great video, but please do more research so you don't have to use random theories I have never heard of. The reason HF Archer is so different is he knows Shirou is on the edge of permanently giving up on his ideals, and he DOES, hence happier Archer.
Well i've read quite a bit of fanfiction so i may mix things up, all incarnation of shirou can trace divine construct however it is impossible for him to ever make one without some powerful support. Not even Rin massive od are enough to build one. The only instance i've seen shirou being able to project one is in kaleid prisma Ilya and mooncell. In kaleid thanks to the holy grail power and in the mooncell thanks to the mooncell allowing it hence lesser manacost. In both case however it is only a very weak copy of them. The only exception to this is ea, he can't trace it much less project it. In one fanfiction shirou watching ea is the same to him as reading a brown note is to us.
Emiya can create devine construct, he just need a fuckton of mana (Rin is nowhere near) and need to see the weapons directly. EA can't be traced is because it is beyond devine construct and also because EA already exist before the concept of sword was even born.
@@zeryuouros4411 no actually, Emiya and Shirou at base are not supposed to be capable of tracing a divine construct, save Excalibur due to their extremely deep knowledge of it through Avalon, and their relationship with Artoria, but even then Archer says the copy would be inferior (even more so than the usual copy power loss I assume) and tracing it would kill him. Nameless can get around the limit because the Moon Cell has different rules. Kaelid Liner Miyu Shirou gets around it by purposefully altering the constructs to be within his capability to produce, like Ig-Alima being hollow, so it isn't a complete copy. Basically, he can make emulations of them, but not copies.
I would love for you to make a video about Miyuverse Shirou because he's entire different from the other Shirou and Emiya. He did not possess Avalon. Kiritsugu did not forsaken humanity yet this Shirou is the closest to become Fate Kiritsugu. The only Emiya who gained Affection of the Grail EX and used his soul as a catalyst to summon Archer Emiya inside his body instead of the pendant. More well-trained than any other Shirou. A way more believable HF Shirou compare to the original (not more complex but believable). He could do Divine Construct (not inferior but Divine Construct nonetheless but not with Ea) thanks to his Affection of the Grail. Edit: Also, you kinda glossed Miyuverse Shirou because it's not simply just saving only one person. He also had his own UBW chant describing his life was entire fake, he lost everything and an oath to save Miyu and avenge Sakura under the snow. This also reflected the world that Miyuverse Shirou lived in, a dying world with no hope.
Couple of additions. 1. Armor and Shields can be replicated, but it's 2-3 times the energy (meaning 15 units of magical energy). For reference, Shirou has 20-30, Rin has 400-500, and Saber (under Shirou) has 1200 and uses up 200 after fighting Lancer and then Berserker. Later source books claim that he can only use them for an instant, which is debatable a retcon, but this doesn't apply to Rho Aius(since it's the only one he's stated to be proficient at). However, Rho Aius is stated to be the strongest shield against projectiles (and blasts and beams are a subset given strike air is a "projectile"). The light novel of Fate/Apocrypha calls it the strongest shield. Achilles Cosmos is also said to rival it, which basically means EMIYA got stealth-buffed in the story. Against Lancer, he just let its natural durability tank Gae Bolg, but he underestimated it, and only put magical energy(one of the prerequisites to fully utilize one) into it after Gae Bolg was hitting the last layer. So contrary to what many assume, Lancer's spear is not the limit of Rho Aius if used properly. In the original VN, Gilgamesh actively uses Ea against Shirou, and it's reduced below a killing blow because of EMIYA's Rho Aius. It's unknown how much of Ea's power was used. It's price is that it'll damage him as it's destroyed. It varies. 2. Reinforcement being used on his swords is never stated although what you said lore-wise makes sense and is likely. It's transformation(a subset of reinforcement like projection) that turns his swords into arrows. 3. Avalon can't be projected/used as a noble phantasm because of it's connection to Saber's magical energy. 4. Broken phantasm can theoretically(my headcannon) be used without putting energy into them, and simply detonated regardless. I say this because the definition of broken phantasm is to detonate the magical energy within a NP. Noble phantasms contain magical energy by default, which is part of why it's hard to recreate them. Caliburn, for instance, has 100x Shirou's energy. So, 3000, or almost 3 times EMIYA's total energy (same rank as Saber and Gilgamesh). By definition, even without packing in ME, he can just project sword, shoot them, and detonate them for the equivalent to detonating his entire ME supply or far greater. For reference, Caster and Rin's spells have 90 ME. There's the chance he can just detonate his sword rains like he does in games such as Fate/Extra's universe (it's not a contradiction lore-wise). 5. His stats may be low due to being a heroic spirit that no one knows (he's in his own past). Heroes are "man-made gods" that would weaken with no knowledge or faith in them. A hero that was strong in life may keep some of his strength. Cu Chulainn has 0 geographical boost from Japan, and is "degraded somewhat." Imagine what it does to EMIYA, where he not only has no geographical boost, but no knowledge of his existence. In fate/stay night, he's effectively in a nerfed state. 6. In Extra, he has C+ clairvoyance and (false) mind's eye. He has the modifier because he can use reinforcement magic on the clairvoyance skill. For reference, he has the same rank as Arjuna. This rank includes seeing invisible objects, through walls, and literal future sight. Arjuna's stated to have the equivalent accuracy of homing shots due to this, so the same applies to EMIYA. It's possible that EMIYA in FSN can do this as well with his magic, and this is only elaborated in Extra. Same thing happened with Alexander. In FZ, he has B rank military tactics, and is stated to have modifiers against anti-army and anti-fortress attacks. In F/GO, he has B+ military tactics. Also, while the descirption between the Extra "nameless" and EMIYA's mind eye's are the same, the false version contains a precognitive 6th sense that lets one avoid danger. He probably got this skill upgrade due to his legend being known (but his name is forgotten). 7. For whatever reason, there's been a source that mentions a hypothetical battle between him and Rider(FSN), that he can't maximize his fake Excalibur and therefore, can't shoot Rider down easily (referred to as a Saber-class holy sword). This is odd though, because his magical energy is literally in the same tier as Saber and Gilgamesh, who can spam those attacks. Same source says he'd beat False-Assasin in a normal fight, but the temple forced CQB, in which he''s stated that he might lose. Victory between him or Saber really depends on how good their respective masters are (so he's on the same tier as a properly summoned Artoria without Avalon at the least). 8. EMIYA also has the feat of outright beating Berserker 6 times in CQB in the Fate Route before being killed himself. We know it was CQB because his technique was specifically cited, and Hercules wished that he were summoned as something other than a Berserker so they could match each other in sword technique. Let that sink in, a servant whose technique is a noble phantasm felt that he was a worthy match in CQB. He directly refereed to him as a "rare and worthy enemy." 9. UBW requires energy to be spent for recreating weapons after they're destroyed. The amount is unspecified, though it's labeled as "significant." However, it's doubtful that it's more than the activation cost of UBW. On that note, his NPs are labeled as "beyond thousands." For reference, Gilgamesh's NPs are consistently labeled in the thousands. So, no matter what, EMIYA (not even scaling him to UBW Shirou) has a comparable arsenal to Gilgamesh in scale. The fact that he can make variations of existing NPs as an original design might explain why he specifically is said to have more than thousands.
3. Yes, though, in context, Saber was existing in the world, and in a pact with Shirou. It's explicitly stated in interviews that once Saber went away, projection of Avalon is no longer possible. If EMIYA didn't have that odd condition and could keep Avalon, he'd be undeniably in the highest tier. 4. Yes, because Shirou's projection is really just an application of UBW overwriting reality on a small scale. The result is that he ignores equivalent exchange, which is why Rin freaks out and thinks that Shirou would have lost an arm recreating Caliburn. Shirou has a constant cost for projection at 5 units of magical energy. So, EMIYA basically can spend 5 units of ME to produce an attack that has 3000 units. This is probably why it's his trump card, and especially effective against CQB fighters. He can theoretically spam attacks that should be way over the level for servants to block without NPs(or tons of defensive spells).
You forgot to mention it's unlimited potential. In the future, we might have Caladbolg over edge, Kanshou and Bakuya XI. Hell he might stumble uppon the jewel sword and make it into Zeretch sword mk XX over edge.
He also might be (suggested in FGO but never confirmed) a descendant of the legendary blacksmith Muramasa. As his origin was destroyed in the fire, I doubt it means much, but it might be cool to consider if that's why he has a knack for strengthening (tempering) items, which isn't directly linked to swords.
The swords in Unlimited Blade Works could also represent and symbolize Graves. For Archer, the numerous amounts of swords represent on how many people that he has to kill to save everyone while in the case for pre heroic Shirou it would represent how many times that he needs to die in order to save everyone else.
Even the gears are gone when EMIYA is in there without Shirou. The closing credits of UBW show when it's like when he's the sole wielder in there. "They are beginning to mesh..."--Saber, seeing the battle of Shirou and Archer. The reason Shirou's borrowed ideal and drive so infuriates Archer is that, even without conscious memory, Archer feels less than real. When Kiritsugu implanted Avalon into Shirou's spiritually wrecked and very young body, its nature left a lasting impression on his soul, one that makes the reality marble far more ominous. Avalon; the unreachable salvation for all, the ultimate defense, the ultimate destination of the King, embodied in a fae-wrought scabbard for Excalibur. Sheathes hold swords. The hill of blades became both the seat of his power and his expression of frustration and failure... "Shirou, you're... you're my sheath, aren't you?"--Saber, realizing Avalon was available to her just in time to tank Enuma Elish in her confrontation with Gilgamesh in the Stay Night route.
You know. The only mana cost is maintaining and summoning UBW. In UBW there is no "Projection" as the object is already made. This is Overpowered because all he has to do is spam weapons against his opponents. As i said earlier there would be no mana cost since the blades were already made. So something like Gae Bolg, Caldabolg, and other weapons that don't end with -bolg could be spammed or summoned. Not Only does he have his UBW but his existence as a counter guardian also gives him an advantage. Not only is he unknown to most people and heroic spirits, he will always get "Stronger" do to him existing and always battling against others (Hench the Eye of the mind). This allows him to further develop new techniques with weapons in his already Infinite arsenal. (I haven't dived to deep into the nasuverse personally, but I like to think of Emiya and how UBW works like this)
I understand how Archer has the weapons mentioned due to the games and other canonical things but rule breaker was never mentioned among the uses, even though it's not beyond the realm of possibility; with that said it could also be implied he has fergus's caladbolg sword for two reasons, knowing cu's history and having Gae bolg can also imply he encountered Fergus as well and also the fact that the sword is called caladbolg and is a twisted sword while archers arrow is also called caladbolg and a twisted sword
The Crane technique doesn't work with other Phantasms, though. It's based around the fact that Kanshou and Bakuya are always attracted to each other, essentially like magnets, and then uses that magnetic myth to create a chokepoint with his enemy in the middle. Unless other Phantasms have that ability (and no other we have seen so far have that ability), then the Three-Winged Crane technique is completely impossible to pull off without multiple copies of Kanshou and Bakuya.
Remember how Kitsurugi's Origin (the concept Origin first appeared in the parallel work Kara no Kyoukai) was severing and binding, Shirou's Origin is sword. Also, Archer's Red mantle was given to him by Ciel from Tsukihime.
Imagine shirou having enough time to study noble phantasms to perfectly copy them(or just be allowed by gilgamesh to analyse all noble phantasams to perfection ) then he would be truly op
Thanks so much for explaining the Emiya time loop paradox thing. It always bothered me to think he just failed to kill himself an infinite amount of times even though he had already lived through it and should know how to do it by now. This was truly enlightening
And is wrong, there are no timeloop no Paradox neither, Archer just was summoned in the three routes ,failed his mission in two and changed his worldview in ubw, but Archer is the same always, he exists OUTSIDE TIME there are no paradoxes
It would be cool if they had archer appear in a later story with his own noble phantasm. The explanation they could use is the fact that the other shirou’s could have become well known hero’s in there timelines. I don’t know if this is possible but it would be a cool if they add it.
In Stay Night route, Saber outright calls Shirou her sheath. A sheath holds swords. Shirou is a source of blades, even if his own hands never hold them.
I would believe the ability would be stronger had Shirou been born in the age of gods for when it came to weapons that were or are divine constructs, Shirou could encounter the divine materials used to create the divine constructs, possibly encounter those who forged the divine constructs and see how it is forged so he more so understands the forging method, so he can perceive the divine constructs and summon them as a whole instead of something that is hollow like some of the divine constructs that he has in his reality marble. Any divine construct that he has seen he can’t replicate completely due to the exotic materials that he can’t perceive, so he can only make recreate its shape but can’t fill it for the materials are so exotic that he can’t make them as a full weapon as shown in fate/kaleid prisma Illya, where a divine construct was summoned however it was hollow when it was destroyed. however, being born during the age of the gods and even when it was dying, he could encounter such exotic materials and he could possibly replicate divine constructs completely as I said before, so in the age he was born in it may be quite overpowered, but if he was born in the age of the gods, then his abilities would be on another level.
One note, Emiya does have a noble phantasm of his own, because UBW is a noble phantasm. It's been shown many times over the verious Fate series/timelines a Servant can have multiple noble phantasms, Fate/Zero shows this with rider both having his charriot and his Marble that are specificly to him, Fate/Apocrypha shows Lancer of Black(Vlad) with a phantasm related to both his human side and his mythical side and Ruler of "black"(I'm being metaphorical) has her flag and sword, and Lancer of Red, has his spear and a Shield(both have something like a reality marble to their effects)
Well for the anime viewers its understandable, as i don't believe they ever had any of his inner monologues like he did in the vn, which helps the viewers understand how broken of a character he is and show that what he says and does isn't because he an idiot, but because of all his mental disorders. Had they've done that he'd probably wouldn't get as much hate. I love him as a character and is probably a top tier favorite of mine.
In the VN it makes it clear his "stupidity" is actually a total lack of an ability to see any value or reason for he himself to be alive, thus he wants to sacrifice himself to save people, and thinks Archer should get away and leave, even if it means he WILL die.
@@joshuaarnett762 i would like to believe that counter guardian emiya is the shirou from fate stay night because he was so much more intolerable and selflessly idiotic than the one in ubw and is regretting his decisions
@@lookingforlove839 what? Archer's history is nearly identical to the Fate route that we know. He regrets making his contract with Alaya. All route's Shirou have a tiny chance of becoming Archer, but it is infintessimaly small
Emiya is a guardian, that means he can go throw every era (past and futures) and guardians have a lot of magic (power, just to understand). But in this anime he was summon as a servant because rin used a catalizer (even if she didn't know, her pendant), and this is why he can't use his full power, because his role is as servant and not as guardian. But at final he defeated gilgamesh with 1 arrow, in that moment he appears as a guardian. Basically the rol of a guardian is fights moments in any kind of time lane that is wrong (something that musn't happening but it's hapening).
You should do one on Kerry (Kiritsugu). His life, his time magic, his accomplishments... You could even sneak in something about Emiya (Assassin) amd his Chronos Rose. Damn I love that character and think that they don't really speak about him that much.
Tbh considering how hard it's actually to understand RM and even more so manifest it it is very well possible that Archer Shirou's chant always was the same, since he acquired it much later in his life in comparison to UBW Shirou. Also Shirou doesn't necessarily need to see the weapon himself to trace it. He can perfectly work with memories of other people
Now i really just want to see him in a setting like apocrypha where he has much more mana supporting him so he can really let loose with all those stolen NPs
Jonathan Jasper Reyes The level of threat isn't measured by divinity tho and you forgot Achilles, and semiramis even then is not true that most servants in Apocrypha would rekt Emiya
Como Sea Cs Right... Forgot Achilles... Semiramis is debatable... She is like Iskandar as a demi-god... Karna and Chiron are the ones on my mind that would stomp EMIYA so... Yeah... The others... He has a fighting chance of winning... Even if the odds are against him...
Never happen. Apocrypha's timeline never had the Fourth War due to the theft of the Grail, and Shirou was for some reason or other raised by the Kotomine clan.

Even then he chooses to use his swords more. kara no kyoukai, tsukihime and fate are all part of the same multiverse so it doesnt matter if they are fate "originals"
I really like how Emiya's solution to everything is pretty much "SWORD".
Need a weapon: sword, Need healing: Sword, Need an arrow: SWORD.
Its rare to see such a simultaneously Silly and Badass powerset.
Well, his Origin is literally the Sword, so he's pretty much inclined to be reliant to swords and sword like implements.
Well he is the bone of his sword.
so a walking SWORD
His Origin became a Sword after implanting an Avalon into Shirou by Kiritsugu

True strength with Rin buggering up his summoning so badly he was summoned two Kilometers up.
Might be stronger, who knows?
Nah, Nasu states outright that Rin is the best Master (in terms of supporting her Servant), in the 5th HGW. Archer under Rin is him at his strongest.

Love the video but one minor detail, Archer isn't a version of Shirou from any of the routes.
Fate route: doubles down on his philosophy but his love for saber means he keeps his promise to strive for her with his soul eventually resting in Avalon Alongside her's
Unlimited blade works:Rin keeps her promise to archer to prevent shirou walking the same path and helps to keep Shirou grounded. Additionally, he accepted the contradiction inherent to his philosophy and wouldn't fall into despair
Heaven's Fell: Completely abandoned it for the sake of one person
One question, I played the game and all routes but I was never sure if in the end he ends up with Rin or she is there to keep here promise to archer.

Also his stats are quite poor :P
considering that he is not endorsed by a legend, these are more than good statistics
It's also the reason he was able to kill Heracles 6 times WITHOUT UBW in the VN.
Boota how come he didnt know medea would Use innate time control when he had slashed her at the start? Or was that just not a outcome he thought he’d come
Duvie he might've suspected it to be double of some sort from the start but be surprised when she really showed up to confront them
the reason he wasnt killed by lancer in an instant i because lancer was ordered to "hold back" with a command spell.
cu chulainn also has "protection from arrows" which makes him immune to projectiles of all kinds making it impossible for emiya to win against him
even gilgamesh had problems fighting cu since he couldnt hit him with his gob.
in the fate route saber almost otk´ed him without using her full strength and under a weak master.
in ubw he was almost killed by lancer the moment he got a bit serious.

Taken from the wiki for "nameless":
"As for the human who became his source, there is a person who spent his previous life as a personifier of justice in the past like that, but he is no longer said individual. This Heroic Spirit is the shape of a convenient “Hero of justice” that people desired, which started with the shape of that person.
The person who became the source for this Heroic Spirit certainly exists, but by the time he was worshiped as a hero, his name as a human had been completely forgotten from people's memories and history
Archer is described as being of the same "existence" as the Archer of Fate/stay night, but not the same "person."
Emiya had his memories from the start in every route, he just acted as though he didn’t. I have played the VN
The start of the video is wrong. It is the same emiya in every route. And UBW shirou DO NOT become heroic spirit Emiya
IKR
If he is the same in each route what causes the timeline to diverge in each?

Emiya Archer is quite badass!
GundamBarbatos9 Veterans Easier to just call him garcher
Miyuverse shirou is the best one
C137 That's debatable.
Months late, but Hollow Ataraxia can give you what you desire.
@@cephery8482 still it wouldn't make sense for Archer to be able to only take 6 lives while Shirou takes out 9
Woah hold on.
Shirou = Shirou no matter the alternative, dont confuse the normie please (Me)
Lol Kerry.

Link to confirmation, or I call bullshit.
Imagine if emiya took the time to collect all of the noble phantasms in the world.
etherealnine basically what I feel about his abilities.
+etherealnine
It's not so much that the series downplays his abilities so much as the community cherry picking things that make him sound weak.
I now understand the true meaning to "I am the bone of my sword".
I have to say this... Even though some things that you said were wrong as pointed out by others in the comments wee deeply enjoyed this video on GARcher and truly appreciate it!
Divine garcher keep being mistaken to shiva by ash
@@narutardkyuubi RM is considered as a rare magecraft ability that need to be reserve.
Counter Guardian Archer is stronger than Servant Archer.
Seeing Archer turn into Shirou when he had his goodbye with Rin always gives me goosebumps. I just started following the Fate series again, last time I did was when it was on Animax.
Kanshou and Bakuya are a linked pair from creation, that is their one true love power. A human sacrifice gives them their power.
EMIYA= Jack Of All Trades, Master Of All.
Lmao
More like king of all trades in that case
You know, this video makes me want you to cover of topics in the Fate series. Particularly magic, like the different types and how they work, or maybe explaining how mages work as well. All of it is just so interesting to learn. And thank again for this video.
i would love to see that actually
Magic is not a thing very common in the Fate universe,Magecraft is.
Magic and Magecraft are different and this distinction is pretty important.
Type-Moon universe(which Fate is from) has an extremely complex "magical system" it has enough materials to write multiple essays on. covering it would be a series instead of a video. a very very long series. which would be awesome.
Do it up!
“Looks at stuff, it’s mine now.”
I seriusly love his character he is the reason why i love the fate series so much.
My favorite anime character of all time! There are some details in this video I didn't even know. Great job!

Everytime a pawn moves, it gets closer to the end, but that end cannot be reached without fighting and struggling against stronger and, in every aspect, superior enemies just like how CG Shirou constantly fought for his life just to get to the end result that he *wanted*
And when a pawn reaches the end, it can become virtually anything it wants, just like how CG Shirou got Unlimited Blade Works from Alaya as a reward for his efforts and struggles.
The only difference is that Unlimited Blade Works wasn't the reward CG Shirou *wanted*
Note: All the extraverse weapons are only known by nameless. EMIYA only has the weapons he encountered while alive.
@@motivationintensifies9558this is the equivalent of asking why Gilgamesh didn't use his entire arsenal from GOB in damn near every story
Shirou: I WANT THAT
So basically Gilgamesh vs Shirou is the Blue print vs the 3d printer, I love it
No, it's the finished product vs the 3d printer on steroids.
I really hope Type/MOON adds Counter Guardian Emiya as a costume dress for Grand Order. The white cloak and fingerless gloves is just such a badass look, if I could dress Emiya in that look I'd use him more often.
Damn that's by far the strongest and most OP copying machine I have ever seen.
Shirou Ikonoya well it is said Shirou in the routes we play COULD become Archer, but the odds are infinitesimally small
The odds are close to 0.

Quoting Shiro: Who said that a fake can't face the original?
If you didn't know how to make a noble phantasm and the original is a pretty good version then no one would probably be able to beat it because they'd be focused on copying it exactly, even though the best idea would be to approximately copy it and then try to improve it
I hope someone manages to understand my comment because I wrote it in what I think is a confusing way

Year late, but I just wanted to say that I'm a guy that's completely straight and I still "fangirl" over Archer...
2:31 they aren't loops, they are possibilities. And Shirou never becomes Archer in UBW at least, For the anime version of it Nasu even gave a written story script including scenes that made clear this Shirou wouldn't become Archer (and surpasses him).
what scenes proved that he never becomes archer/surpasses him? don't remember that being in the anime.
Nasu had a script written that was added with the blue ray version, it wasn't in the anime because they cut those scenes out/changed it making the ending more vague.
is htere any place on the internet those scenes can be seen?
Zaruian
Read this and the answer that includes Nasu manuscript: anime.stackexchange.com/questions/31922/is-the-person-who-appeared-at-the-very-end-of-fate-stay-night-ubw-desert-scene
Besides even in the visual novel version in the ending of UBW, you could read Shirou's thoughts and he pretty much states he couldn't picture his life without Rin.
I personally think that Emiya (Archer) is probably in the top 3 most powerful servants/ hero's that exist.
Karna, Arjuna, Gilgamesh and any servant with devine constructs would like to have a talk with you
@@zeryuouros4411 Archer:-haha Broken Phantasm Go Brrrrrrrr
Some Shirou's can make divine constructs. Only Ea is truly impossible to replicate
Just wanted to say, I'm new to your videos and love them! No shitty intro, straight into business, awesome info. Thank you!
“This false body was still made of swords”- Miyuverse Shirou
"The orphan is alone again, striking diamond dust on a hill of swords." Miyuverse Shirou
One of the most powerful chant considering his story.
zhaoyun255 best chant and best shirou in my opinion
What’s the Miyuverse ?
Gilgamesh Universe he is one of the shirou's from fate kaleid, but is miyu's brother instead of illya
He directly refereed to him as a "rare and worthy enemy."
3. Didn't Shirou used it to escape the mud in Fate?
4. Didn't he traced Caliburn multiple time in a row in Fate?
May not be the most powerful character, but definitely an awesome one.
You forgot to mention it's unlimited potential. In the future, we might have Caladbolg over edge, Kanshou and Bakuya XI. Hell he might stumble uppon the jewel sword and make it into Zeretch sword mk XX over edge.
DAAAAAMNNN, I don't think in this tough, in more time, Archer just gets better and better
Tuấn Cường Nghiêm imagine if we got a grail war where he was actually being boosted by his legend
This man can beat Gilgamesh...
My boi is the embodiment of "guns? Nah, swords"
"Who said the fake can't rival the real thing?"
- Shirou
Basically made in china in a nutshell
one of the most servants i love, i love his NP theme
"Especially from Gilgamesh's collections "..... Shirou really has a grudge on Gil
Now I'm curious how strong he would be when not constrained by the class?
Imagine an A10 Warhog squadron with nukes for bullets.
(I haven't dived to deep into the nasuverse personally, but I like to think of Emiya and how UBW works like this)
please do Gilgamesh next. He has to be one of the most infamous character of the franchise.
I just want to say thank you to who made this video. Godspeed!
I feel like the miyuverse Shirou doesn't get enough love
The Crane technique doesn't work with other Phantasms, though. It's based around the fact that Kanshou and Bakuya are always attracted to each other, essentially like magnets, and then uses that magnetic myth to create a chokepoint with his enemy in the middle. Unless other Phantasms have that ability (and no other we have seen so far have that ability), then the Three-Winged Crane technique is completely impossible to pull off without multiple copies of Kanshou and Bakuya.
Archer Emiya is a copycat badass!!!!
" I am the bone of my sword"
Remember how Kitsurugi's Origin (the concept Origin first appeared in the parallel work Kara no Kyoukai) was severing and binding, Shirou's Origin is sword. Also, Archer's Red mantle was given to him by Ciel from Tsukihime.
Couldn't be more happy and thrilled with this explanation.
Thank you.
Imagine shirou having enough time to study noble phantasms to perfectly copy them(or just be allowed by gilgamesh to analyse all noble phantasams to perfection ) then he would be truly op
Basically EMIYA during his Counter Guardian phase
@Zero because that was Servant EMIYA so he has limitations. Counter Guardian EMIYA does not however, Alaya make sure he's op.
Also happy Shirou Day!!!
he protecc
he attacc
but most importantly
*he can cook snacc*
Imagin they made a new route where eimya becomes the counter Guardian archer
That's literally his history. Did you read his origin?
Thanks so much for explaining the Emiya time loop paradox thing. It always bothered me to think he just failed to kill himself an infinite amount of times even though he had already lived through it and should know how to do it by now. This was truly enlightening
And is wrong, there are no timeloop no Paradox neither, Archer just was summoned in the three routes ,failed his mission in two and changed his worldview in ubw, but Archer is the same always, he exists OUTSIDE TIME there are no paradoxes
Yeah I meant cuz I didn't know about him gaining his memories only after it was too late to change it.
Samuel Benton He had his memories intact since the first day, it was true he had memory issues but they disappeared the same night he was summoned
It would be cool if they had archer appear in a later story with his own noble phantasm. The explanation they could use is the fact that the other shirou’s could have become well known hero’s in there timelines. I don’t know if this is possible but it would be a cool if they add it.
Shirou actually can make a copy that is just as powerful as the original, but he has to be in his reality marble to do so
But Avalon isn't a sword though. It's a scabbard.
He's had it in his body for almost his entire life that it was already inside UBW.
Plus, Emiya can duplicate other weapons as well, not just swords. He can duplicate, axes, spears, lances and many more
In Stay Night route, Saber outright calls Shirou her sheath. A sheath holds swords. Shirou is a source of blades, even if his own hands never hold them.
That's kind of the metaphor; Shirou merged with Avalon, a scabbard, *a container of swords.*
@@tranz2deep *But wouldn't saber be the scabbard in the relationship?*
Medea next? Uwu she’s my fave character and i’d love to know more about her
Thank you for being one of the few YT to not under power Emiya.
Still, his most famous ability is the mithical power of "high jump" which has a beguiling influence on all girls in the area.
I’ve been waiting for this 👍
me and u both
Imagine if Emiya had the full knowledge of every sword/weapon in existence, which allows him to perfectly replicate every weapon
EMIYA during his counter guardian days were exactly that
I would believe the ability would be stronger had Shirou been born in the age of gods for when it came to weapons that were or are divine constructs, Shirou could encounter the divine materials used to create the divine constructs, possibly encounter those who forged the divine constructs and see how it is forged so he more so understands the forging method, so he can perceive the divine constructs and summon them as a whole instead of something that is hollow like some of the divine constructs that he has in his reality marble.
"changing his muscles into blades,in order to knit his wounds with swords"
that is the most metal way to heal a wound
3:35 nothing says that a copy can´t superpass the original
Archer is a great character with a unique power. Such badassary. Too many haters for Shirou at least.
Cardinaljake most of the servants in fate apocrypya would rekt Emiya lol..
Percy Jackson
The amount of Demi-Gods in F/SN is too high... See how EMIYA fared there...?
Karna and Chiron are the only Demi-God in Apocrypha...
Jonathan Jasper Reyes The level of threat isn't measured by divinity tho and you forgot Achilles, and semiramis even then is not true that most servants in Apocrypha would rekt Emiya
Como Sea Cs
Right...
Hey my man!!
While I'm this early figured I'd just say I hope your doing well. 🙂
That's how u use an OC character in history books
Totally paused the video at both chants and recited both...*at maximum dramatic levels*
Ok, we can proceed with video now. ☺
You can see how much gege was inspired by archer hence why yuta
