I saw JAWS 2 as a Junior High student with friends 5 times over the summer of 1978 and adored it. I remember reading in the newspaper about the first Director being fired and how the movie was in serious trouble. The movie was on hiatus for 3 weeks before Zanuck/Brown found their new Director. It was a difficult film to make. Szwarc did an amazing job with it considering he had no prep time to speak of. Hopefully the both of you will get a chance to see JAWS 2 on a cinema screen where it looks even more awesome and beautiful.

That sounds like an absolutely amazing summer! I agree, this movie doesn't get its due but it's a super fun time. I would love to see the movie on the big screen for sure! Thanks for watching!

Another awesome discussion guys. As much as I miss Richard Dreyfus, if he had also been included, it would have felt even more similar to the first one. I agree with the Halloween 2 similarity, everyone swooped in and got that sweet killer animal $$$. Cinecrisis I think you are right too, this is not a good watch immediately after the original. However, with some time between viewings, there's still entertainment value in Jaws 2 for sure. Also, it was great seeing Roy Scheider again. Luckily I did get to enjoy that Universal Jaws ride at least once!

Hey, thanks for the kind words. Jaws 2 has its moments for sure. Glad to know there are other fans out there. And yes, that ride was so epic, I miss it so much. Hopefully one day I'll get back over to LA and see it on the tram tour again
