Just found this video. What a bittersweet experience for the fans who were at that concert, Elvis was so obviously unwell, yet gave his all to the fans, singing his heart out. This video is part of history now.. I picked up that LP at a record fair recently, didn't know anything about it, but have since been told it is very collectable
Thanks also wanted to say there was nothing like seeing Elvis live!!!!! I saw Elvis from 69 to 76 30 times and taped them all!! Met him and he was so very sweet and kind to his fans!!! 🥰
Oh you lucky duck. I turned 16 the following late June.xx dang. I'm also distantly related to Elvis on my mom's side. She's from Tenn. Elvis did stop at their house, twice, out on Parsons Ridge, rt 70, just outside of Crossville, up on a high , small Mt top, a 20, 25 Mille stretch, pa Parsons, Lina Beecher Parsons, was 6th of 9 sons. One owned a small gas/convince store, another owned the small Tavern that Elvis gave my Great Uncle Rosco, a ride to and politely drank one beer with him. A few mths before he became well known.xx our family cemetery, small,on a beautiful gentle slopping.. hill, was 98% Parsons and Presley tombstonesxx
Thanks for letting me ramble a little.lol. I was 97%sure , when I could speak to Elvis, he'd pick up on our shared bloodline. Sadly I was 15 a few short weeks when he passed. Instead track of a solid week. I'll tell , next time, the absolute realize dream I had, sounds, smells, colors. Elvis practicing etc.xx
Linda is my friend our friendship began between two Elvis fans who live a world apart ( I live in Melbourne Australia) Linda made it possible for this Australian fan to travel to Indianapolis & Memphis and experience Elvis week 1997 We have shared over 40 years of a wonderful friendship thanks to Elvis It was a great interview with an Elvis fan thank you Jon Daly
Pamela, I am also in Melbourne. My husband had a penpal in San Francisco, and she wrote to him in 1976, saying Elvis was doing a concert there and she had spare tickets. She invited us to fly over there and stay with her, and they would take us to the concert. How lucky - we would never have seen Elvis live if it wasn't for that generous penpal...
She has great memories. Lucky lady! It always annoys me when people get comped tickets who don't appreciate the performer. I love that she taped the last concert.
I have that album, "The Last Farewell" and the "New Year's Eve" concert and they hold a special place with me. I was only 5 when Elvis passed, but I remember that day like it was yesterday.
'70, '71, '74, '75, & '76. all in Houston except for the '75 show which was Shreveport, La. was, is, and will always be the greatest entertainer to ever step foot on a stage. have seen countless others perform and nobody even comes close.
I saw Elvis in April of 1976 in Seattle. I was 16 years old and didn’t want to go. My mom bought tickets for her and my dad but my dad had to go out of town on business. So being the oldest I was dragged to the concert. I’m so glad I got to see him, but what I remember the most was all the screaming women out of control. At this time in my life I was listening to Lynard Skynard, the eagles, Fleetwood Mac etc... It was a time I’ll never forget.
I just like to know in your 1977 elvis concert did elvis looked well in himself I watch the June 1977 by vedios elvis sort forgetting as he stood facing the orchestras and sudden elvis turns to the audience I hope elvis OK . I'm been annoy by tabloids posting up every day hearing them say elvis over weight lost of breathings as he sings but to me elvis fine I miss elvis he in our thoughts never forgotten 🇦🇺

Such GREAT memories and that is what it is ALL ABOUT. The front row seats -NOW thats called Corporate Hospitality -it still goes on today - its not what you know but who you know
I've heard for years that EP's last concert was actually one of the best concerts ever. He introduced his father to the audience and he appeared to be upbeat and feeling great. He was overweight, but nonetheless very handsome, and his voice was awesome and he didn't miss a beat.
Thank you, for the interview. This is fantastic. And the fact that she taped the show is outstanding. It would be nice if she could have played some of the cassette tape for us to hear.
Younger folks these days might say what is the big deal with Elvis & these kind of stories. It's hard to compare it to anything they have today. But as those that are the faithful of the man, know beyond any shadow of a doubt that Elvis was something very special. Entertainers like Elvis only come around once in a lifetime if you're lucky. I'm just glad to say that I was alive to enjoy a good part of his gift he shared with millions.
Great story, the only thing I would say is I wish it would have been a bit longer. Would have loved to have heard about seeing him in 70. Thank you for posting this. Vicki

Wow what a lucky lady. Plus it would save a 2 hour drive. Well ofcourse all of the events of August 16th 1977 happened and needless to say my dad regrets not going to that Indianapolis show to this day. Vernon also died on my Dads birthday June 26th 1979. Then I was born a couple months later on September 12th 1979 so unfortunately I never had the chance to see Elvis either but I've been a huge fan all my life.
hello Robert sadly Elvis died 2 days after my 19th birthday I live in England and was saving to go and see Elvis in vegas i thought I had all the time in the world :(..... my husbands birthday is 26th of June ( the day vernon sadly passed, away but sadly my husband isn't an ELVIS fan) but here's the real deal
I was born the 14th of august 1958 the very day Gladys passed away so when I am in Memphis for my birthday during Elvis, week i put flowers on her grave on my birthday :(
@@SuperSharon1000 ~ What a lovely and heartfelt 💖 gesture for you to put flowers 💐 on Elvis’s mother’s grave! 🙏. Thank you for your kindness! TCB - TLC

I saw him in Murfreesboro in 1975
