Oh my! This rock painting video is totally incredible for me! I shy away from watercolors, especially painting rocks, because it’s been so difficult for me to create all those different values. What I’ve ended up with has always been a mush-mash of mud mess! I definitely will give your technique a try! Wow! That was truly beautiful and mesmerizing! Thank You SO much for this wonderful, extremely helpful tutorial!👍❤!
Hi and thank you Paul 😊I tried the technique with some success but I ripped up the paper a bit in my efforts to get the beautiful colors -- my questions is this: What kind of paper are you using: hot or cold pressed ( if either) ? Thank you again for your videos!!
Hello Tanya, I use almost exclusively 140lb Arches bright white. You are probably pressing to hard or too sharply, think about a squeegee as you gently drag your Cred card or whatever you use. You will get great results, thank you so much for watching, I am here if you need me
The credit card technique is amazing. Thank you for sharing this.
The basic secret must be kept in our mind is the source of the light and the way you've used the card to split the rocks is a perfection ❤❤❤❤
you are right on barbie, good job
Thank you Paul. This process gave me a flow like back when I wad little and helped me unblock. Turned out beautiful, too! What a great technique!

Are you using cold press or rough watercolor paper? Thanks!
Hi Carolyn, cold press here, but rough would be good as well 👍 thanks for watching
Does this work with any color or are some too staining?
Hi Jenny, you need a warm, red, raw sienna, gold, beneath and a cool, blue, ultra, over
