I was at this show. A friend had tickets and, at the last minute, couldn’t go. He gave the tickets to me and I knew nothing about Bon Iver. I walked in and had my life changed immediately.
*LYRICS* For the love, I'd fallen on In the swampy August dawn What a mischief you would bring, young darling When the onus is not all your own When you're up for it before you've grown Whoa-whoa From the faun forever gone In the towers of your honeycomb I'd have tore your hair out just to climb back, darling When you're filling out your only form Can you tell that it's just ceremon'? Now you've added up to what you're from Whoa-whoa Build your tether rain-out from your fragments Break the sailor's table on your sacrum Fuck the fiercest fables, I'm with Hagen For the love, comes the burning young From the liver, sweating through your tongue Well, you're standing on my sternum Don't you climb down, darling Oh, the sermons are the first to rest Smoke on Sundays when you're drunk and dressed Out the hollows where the swallow nests Whoa-whoa
They will always be in my top ten of all time!!! Along with Justin Vernon being in my top ten Writers/Artist of all Time!!!!!! I know artist as far as music are considered writers...but a lot of people at the top that are looked at as artist don't write...sad people assume they do and appreciate them more than this timeless music!!! I'll never stop listening to Bon Iver!!!
I recorded this whole Austin City Limits on my DVR and watched it at least 15 times in a few months, and I got a new cable box and now its gone!! I searched for this whole episode everywhere and can't find it. So bummed.
I love Bon Iver, still praying they do another album!! I also saw and met Sean Carey (the drummer singing) in manchester doing his own stuff and it was awesome! Also please feel free to give my page a visit as i take a lot of inspiration from this guy so maybe you'll dig it! Peace fAT kID X
anyone knows whats the name of the instrument that the [didnt mean to be racist] black dude is playing at the beginning of the song? im talking about those little cymbals that he hits with a small stick. pd: great song
matt joel If I said "Hey what's the instrument that guy with the red shirt is playing?" Would it be offensive? No. Describing someone with the atribute that sets him appart is not discrimination (racism). I really hate the over politicly correct society we live in now..

Thank you for going and keeping your mind open
wow, that's amazing asf to hear
It’s been three years since your comment. How are you doing ?
Man, I want to hear this song live so bad.
+groovintothebeatjr i want to hear Bon Iver live desperately! come to london please.
I went to school in Eau Claire at the same times as him., and he’s actually talking about the dorms there called Towers.
This might have been one of the best 60 minutes of musical viewing pleasure...ever. Magical.
How I love this song and how I miss these Bon Iver days...
Their first two albums were epic then they went downhill a bit. Not surprising you can't maintain an epic high level indefinitely.
If i could only listen to one song for the rest of my live it would be this one no doubt! :)
+Inci D i would choose gangnam style. nah just kidding!
Agreed!
Me too
Excellent choice 👌
That would be horrible...
this is my favorite song of bon iver by far.
So good, even got Frodo on the Violin :D
It was Pippin :D
I love Austin City Limits. The audience is soo well mannered and attentive.

For the love, I'd fallen on
In the swampy August dawn

When you're up for it before you've grown
Whoa-whoa

Break the sailor's table on your sacrum
Fuck the fiercest fables, I'm with Hagen
For the love, comes the burning young
From the liver, sweating through your tongue

I think exactly the same way
asf asaaqq Before I've watched it I'm going to assume it's the transition after the second verse because that shit is magical
Ugh, exactlyyy
Frodo Baggins? I though that was Dana Carvey's church lady.
And Patton Oswalt on drums...
