The cables are indeed structural. Their purpose is to support the 2 big concrete slaps that form the canopy. Behind one the stands, the cable are anchored into the rock (granite massif) to stabilize the horizontal actions caused by wind, fans, etc. of the cable.

The stadium was built for 2004 Euro, and it was built in an old quarry, it’s an architectural wonder, one of the most unique/beautiful stadiums in Portugal/Europe
Omar Abdulrahman was the most highly rated and talked about player here in middle east Between 2010-2015. Unfortunately during his loan at Al Hilal in 2018 he got injured (ACL) and wasnt like before and didnt reach his potential.

Braga fan here, the stadium was built for the 2004 euro that was hosted by Portugal and had to be built on an abandoned quarry due to the lack of space in the city to build a new one thats why it only has 2 stands and why its located where it is

They are reusing an old quarry, which are normally a problem. That concept has won several prices and is a well recognized piece of architecture
finally my city club , my dear braga 😭🤩 Now some good info about this great club. The stadium is called "Pedreira" because the west bench was built in a old quarry. because of this it allows the stadium to fit in very well with the environment that surrounds it. And by the way the stadium was built for the euro 2004. Souto Moura, the architect who was responsible for the stadium says that the stadium was built based on Ancient Greece, where theaters had only two stands. This allows all fans to see the game in a privileged and central position , and yes the cables is structural but irl the stadium is very unique and very beautiful. Funny fact - we have a reputation for stealing club names 🤣 example: we have a young only affiliated team called Palmeiras (it is actually a club in the lower divisions) , yes like the Brazilian club 🤣🤣🤣 , even the symbol is very similar but it is because the clube is localizated in a small village in braga caled Palmeira ... Also here in Braga we have a handball club called Arsenal Clube Da Devesa 🤣🤣🤣 The stadium has two underground floors, the 1° floor you can go to the west bench or east bench and 2° floor is the car parking. Infortunaly the food isn't the best and it is quite expensive. But the stadium its a good piece of architecture done by Souto Moura , a winner of a pulitzer.

Love the look of this stadium, cane across it when I did an FM save in Portugal and would love the visit it one day. Would like to know what the rule is if the ball hits one of those cables in the air, drop ball I would assume (also assume it would be incredible different but never say never lol)
@@stevenilic260 good question 🤣🤣 , i don't know if anyone has enough strength to hit the cables as they are very high (estimated 30 meters) but if they hit it , yes it is drop ball because the cables are part of the stadium.
The first coach (Abel Ferreira) in the year they have 4 coach in a season end up in Brasil and he is now making one of the best works in the continent , wining 2 libertadores (equivalent to chapions league in South america) one Copa do Brasil (equivalent to the FA cup) and one regional tournament (campeonato paulista) all of this is won in one year as manager of palmeiras
And this season his team lead the campeonato brasileiro (equivalent to the premier league) and are on the semi finals of the libertadores (not payed yet)

And he was replaced by Ruben Amorim, that won a cup and went to Sporting CP after 2 months, where they won the League for the first time in 20 years. Two really great managers!
This is almost accurate :) Abel Ferreira left Braga for the greek team PAOK Salonica (he only moved to Palmeiras after that), who paid his release clause. Then came Ricardo Sá Pinto, who was sacked after a few months due to poor performances, and Rúben Amorim (at the time, managing the Reserves team) was promoted. Rúben ended up winning the League Cup and many matches (he was manager for only 13 games though) and Sporting paid his release clause, which was €15 million (!!) btw, still one of the highest fees paid for a manager. After that, they again promoted the Reserves team manager (Custódio), who resigned by the end of the season. So, Braga actually only sacked one of those 4 managers! 😅Pretty interesting season! :)
Also now that I've gotten through the video, Shamrock Rovers getting to the group stage of the CL is insane only being 4 years in

Hey Luke, I just wanted to propose something that maybe wouldn’t be too backed up by the public but I think would be cool. There’s a club in Paraguay called Cerro Porteño who have never made an international tournament final. They’ve been in Copa Libertadores semifinals 6 times and Copa Sudamericana semifinals 2 times. They’re usually laughed at because their maximum rivals, Olimpia, have won the Libertadores 3 times and Cerro have never made a final despite 6 semifinals. It’d be cool for a video to rebuild them and get the most wanted trophy for the fans. Maybe it’d not be as fun to play in Latin America but club has a lot of story

That penalty against Rangers was scandalous! The ball cannoned off someones back and hit a had from a yard away without any time for the player to react. How the ref gave a pen even after the luxury of a replay in VAR is beyond belief. Not to worry though, we beat them 3-0 in the home leg and advanced. Onto PSV Eindhoven tomorrow night now!

Braga fan here to answer your questions, If u wanna go from one stand to another there's actually a tunel under the pitch, the ones who enter via the stand that has nothing behind, can actually go the other part from that tunel and leave from there as well.
the stadium was built there because of the abandoned quarry and then they came up with this project, I have to say it's unique in the world but the comfort of a real football stadium just doesn't exist there, they actualy wanted a time ago to rebuild the old stadium in the middle of the city, but the city hall does not want to, so yeah, pretty different disign but really bad in acess and comfort.
The food is obviouly good, like any other stadium in Portugal haha.

You can rebuild Boavista FC which in terms of titles is the fourth big in Portugal. He reached the semi-finals of the uefa cup in 2004, only losing to Celtic, who later lost to Porto in the final. Some facts about Boavista: - Won a Portuguese championship, five Portuguese cups and three Portuguese Super Cups. - They have already been in the National Seniors Championship, which is the current Portuguese fourth division, ranking fourth in 2013/2014. At the end of that season they knew that in the following season (2014/2015) they would return to the Primeira Liga. The current coach of Boavista was one of the players who was champion in 2000/2001 which is Armando Teixeira or Petit who was also a Portuguese international. Another of Boavista's coaches was also one of the champions, Erwin Sánchez. Boavista also trained great players such as Bruno Fernandes, João Vieira Pinto, Nuno Gomes, Raul Meireles and José Bosingwa. They also passed by Boavista André Gomes, André Silva and a spearhead who later went to England and is now the coach of Burton Albion: Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink
Probably the hardest rebuild so far. Totally don't understand why you had so little money to spend year after year. Lucky with that goalie from intake, really made a difference when Matheus went to Fenerbahce. Winning the league here tastes so good! Cheers :)
This stadium was conceived by one of the best architects in the world, Eduardo Souto Moura, winner of a Pritzker, the equivalent to a Nobel in architecture.
I have a suggestion regarding rebuilds I just came up with: how about you rebuild current Norwegian Champions Bodø/Glimt and try to take them further. I guess this could also be interesting to many because of their performances in the ECL last year and the fact that they might qualify for CL this season. Objectives could be:
- Maintain dominance in the Eliteserien (Norway’s first division)
- Win a European cup
- Get the Eliteserien into the Top 10 most reputable leagues in Europe
massive props for making a video about Braga, im absolutely in love with this club but its quite unfortunate that in cities which aren't lisbon or oporto the big 3 fans still are the majority

I’ve been there and it is structural. We went when wolves played there. Braga is a beautiful city, the stand is an absolute nightmare though. We had a great time there.
In Portugal, Braga have a nickname "the arsenalistas" maybe because of what you said. The stadium called "a pedreira" is actually own by the city but they have plans to renovate an old stadium called "Estádio 1º de Maio" and it's a very beautiful project go check Omega.

I played with Braga and I won the league, Europa League and the cup within 3 seasons I also lost Vitinha, the keeper and my left back to realease clauses and got 30 percent of the profit but i replaced them well
From the pictures looks like the wire is to hold up the roof with tension cause it isnt held up at the ends

Lads no worries, we beat USG 3-0 at Ibrox and went through easily. Also we knocked Braga out twice from the Europa league Knockout rounds in the few seasons, both with big comebacks.

Could you guys consider doing a Partizan rebuild? It's not a pretty situation there, the worst start in the league by far, already changed our head coach and the board are getting forced out (for a reason). Also the mention points could be a Champions League final in 1966, 'Partizan's babies' etc..
Win the Portuguese League and Champions League with a 3 division time is one of the most dificulte challenges in football manager.
Would love to see you do a rebuild with Santa Clara from the Portuguese league.
They are based in the azore Islands and over 1500km from Portuguese mainland, they also have a transfer demand that you sign Brazilians they have only been in top division since 18/19 season and in total been in top division 7 seasons including last yr, so this current season will be 8th in total and be 5th yr in a row.

Sometimes it’s general knowledge, a lot of times I use things like attribute search in player search and occasionally I do the “find similar player” when I can remember where to find it

The only thing holding Braga from winning the title is their poor manager choice, they had two medium-good coaches (Abel Ferreira and Rúben Amorim) but all the others in the past 15 years have been awful
Yes, very bad coaches. Braga doesn't even seem like leonardo jardim (champion with monaco), sergio conceição (current porto coach), jorge jesus (one of the best portuguese coaches), paulo fonseca (former roma and shaktar coach) and etc.
One of the things that Braga has done is to bet on good coaches. It doesn't always get it right, but it hits more times than it misses.

You got knocked out by my home team Royal Antwerp, In belgium better known as The Great Old!
The Great Old why? Well because we are the oldest club in Belgium. Since 1880 started by english students. We Are Belgians Nr.1!
We have known alot of black years , 12+1 to be exact! Yes we avoid the number between 12 and 14 just because it was the number of our biggest rivals Beershot. Was yes cause the real Beershot died in 1999!
Anyways we are on a great comeback, we found fresh money in the new owner Paul Gheysen. He invested in a new stadium and facilities. well the new stadium isnt finished yet but I am sure with his ambition it wont take to long anymore. With fresh money invested we made our way back to the top of Belgian Football. And made huge signings in the last couple of seasons. Also with Marc Overmars coming over from Ajax as technical Director I predict us a great future. He already managed to make Toby Alderweireld sign and also Radja Nainggolan plays here now.
So what I wanted to ask is could you please consider a Rebuild of The Great Old or do a series of them?

I live in braga and for sure this stadium is not great, its cold, its ugly and its not located in the best area. I know that who sees this from outside seems like braga its like a empty town, but its not. Braga its one of the most historic city in Portugal and i recommend u to visit. The stadium that u most shearch its braga first one the "1° de maio" its located in centre of city and its gorgeous but when euro was here the state built that ugly one here xp

@@OmegaLukeGaming not really, it had like 28k seats, the new one have 30k something. U should really shearch for images, they didnt demolish the entrance with those statues its something else. At the time they didnt wanted to renew it because thay said it was illegal cause it had 100 years so couldnt touch it
