A Strange Infatuation with Isekai Anime.
Can the most brilliant and creative genre of anime get any higher? Can the unique settings present in Isekai get any higher? Can the most well-written characters with impeccable development of Isekai get any higher? Can the Isekai titles get any higher? Can people's appreciation for ISEKAI GET ANY HIGHER?! No. Isekai is peak fiction; it's raw, it's FIRE, the writing ceiling for any ISEKAI IS BEYOND OUR IMAGINATION.
Why aren't all the anime ISEKAI?
This video is about how great the isekai anime are. Please write more light novels centred around isekai. they are cool.

The Slime isekai still burns, I really enjoyed seeing the city grow but the further it goes the more it becomes a standard isekai.
It also does not help that the writing becomes shittier the longer it goes (looking at you S2)

At this point, Isekai became so overdone that the main concern is not to stand out by being better written but by having the most absurd premise to draw attention which is a shame because once you remove the gimmick, they play out the same and the baseline writing of all of them is usually not higher than "will be forgotten after a week"...
btw. as another exception I would also mention Drifters (made by the same guy who made Hellsing)

The industry simply supplies what is in demand. For whatever reason, the Japanese anime viewer reaaaaally wants more isekai content.
Isekai just bores me to death now Which is kinda sad cause I remember when some of them were actually unique now there all just the same. Amazing video.
I think my biggest problem with isekai's is the constant conveyer belting of it where its constantly pumped like its fifa or call of duty every single time feeling no different from the last with the same fuckin windows xp green meadow as well as many other things stuck to it(i want to claw my eyes out everytime I see a medieval setting). I think it kinda kills me and puts me in a sense of sighing apathy and numbness that the idea of something as cool as transporting to another world has been wasted and never taken advantage of it. There's only ever been 8 or 9 isekai I could say I liked or found passable only 3 being ones worth going back too though its sort of back handed compliment cause this makes up the span of 4 years and this is all I got from a sea of garbage that was the isekai genre great video as always.
The FIFA analogy is so good here. I wish I had thought about it.

i agree with almost everything you said for you putting a Mushoku tensei scene with the words let this shitshow die is unacceptable for me.
Mushoku tensei is in my opinion the only Isekai that does the formula correctly.
It is not some dude that instantly get transported and is overpowered.
You see him grow learn get rid of the insecurities that plagued his former Life.
Therefore mushoku tensei is the only Isekai worthy of being called a "Good Isekai"

I agree with you on Mushoku Tensei! It's actually dubbed as the Grandfather (or was it Godfather) of the isekai genre. It was just unfortunate that it got adapted into anime much later than the others that got made after it. Other than that, I think Re Zero is amazing. Subaru's ability can be op when utilized properly, but it doesn't make him invincible.
Slightly off topic: You once recommended the "emminence of shadow" manga. Have you watched the anime already ?
Personally I think it is pretty meh because it does not know if it wants to be a comedy or some semi serious rule of cool action show and as a result it does not succeed in any of it.

Yup, and I am kind of disappointed with the anime.
It turns out it adapted the light novel, the OG source material, which is completely different from the manga. I was a bit confused why the anime made so many hilarious scenes…dull as fak, but when I dug a bit into it…well, that’s just how those scenes are in the LN.
I was expecting the anime to be more like the manga, heavy on comedy, because I didn't know the LN was so different.
So, I'm not sure whether I should feel disappointed or not because my excitement was based on the manga. I wanted to see the events of the manga animated, not the dull LN.
The anime does lack an identity, as you said, and that makes it pretty average at best. It has some nice action scenes here and there and a bit of dry humour, but nothing stands out. Not even CId. The guy wears his personality in the manga; he's expressive and has this cool glow to him. In the anime, CId is just another edgy protagonist...
I think it's such a missed opportunity.
@@SylvanesW While the manga definitely has a different feel to the LN, that's not why the anime is so disappointing. I enjoyed the LN just as much as the manga if not more. For me it has to do with them just being really lazy and not getting the priorities right. For example, if you look at the latest episode, they put their effort into animating Sherry's mouth movements (Which was definitely not in the LN) while she was eating chocolates but completely shit on the fight against Rose. I mean for Christ's SAKE! The fight was like two minutes and they reused the same damn strike three fucking times. I quite looked forward to that fight since she's my favorite character and it's supposed to be her first proper introduction but they had to ruin it.
isekai concept has been always the same by people getting teleport into new world but isekai ojisan is different,your not watching isekai your watching someone that was isekai before but now trying to going back to their world and for some reason none of isekai genre have thought that i mean don't these mc have parent?sibling?how could that have enjoyed being summoned into another world and started saving the world where they can't even save their own world?that what i like about re zero the world is intresting with or without subaru and protagonist shown a bit changes after being hit in order for him to stay alive and isekai ojisan has title of isekai but that doesn't mean he follow same cycle thou it's a parody anime but still intresting story none the least, it's about watching actual 16 year old teenager going into different world and not knowing a damn thing with story of going back into their own world but we already see he returned and now we are watching of his past too see what does it feels like being isekai the only different we already know that in the end he came back and now we are watching how he was able to survive in isekai world
