Days Gone was one of the most ambitious games I've ever played in terms of punching up from its storytelling/mechanics class. Absolutely incredible and underrated.
The gameplay and graphics are stellar! Probably the best I've played in years, if not ever, especially for zombie games. That said, it's a 4/10 for me solely because of that god-awful cliché of a story. Oh and Sarah. Fuck Sarah.
I remembered when I first played the game I drove my bike head first into a wandering horde then managed to get out of it,then made a full loop (zombieland style) then tried to pick up my bike and escape, then failed embarrassingly then did another loop(zombieland style) got hit a few times but managed to get on my bike and escape Then got stopped by an ambush and got killed by those sonuvabitch ambushers while the horde followed me from behind
Ever been ambushed by a breaker, screamer and reacher who're waiting under the bridge..once they ambushed you they will fight amongst themselves hahaha
Probably covered in the video but freakers also use tactics to a degree, when you’re facing a horde they all don’t just rush the front some of them run way off to the sides and then run in while you’re focusing on the group in front of you so it’s easy to get surrounded
Hiding in the woods like shown in the game would be a good strategy as most of the infested places would be in citys since Freakers set up nests in caves and buidlings, you could build a camp with some people and set up for the apocalypse but you'd need a lot of people
Those people have different ideas and could disagree with you. They will try to overthrow the camp and take charge them self, you better off on your own surviving in one of those Forrest fire watch towers
@@Its_Me_Romano But there is strength in numbers and being by yourself is a death sentence. Besides, who will repopulate humanity? If you are the last survivor then Humanity is extinct after your death that's why you need big groups of people to keep humanity alive (to repopulate and stay alive).

@@Bro_wat Realsitically speaking even if he was in the army, theres no way he could take on those Marauder camps on his own, without atleast some backup, he would get outflanked. When it really became unrealistic, is when he started taking down entire groups of Militia soliders on his own. Based on where they were taking the lore for the sequel, the second game would have been a fantasy reality, Deacon taking on hordes of Super Freaks and fighting Nero Super soliders, without even wearing body armor.
The military doesn't make you that much better with firearms than you already were, unless you're like special forces or you never used guns before joining.
@@MagnoGetMoney I'm guessing where it benefitted him most wasn't guns, but in situational awareness and threat evaluation. Of course combine that with his whole biker thing and you end up with something of a decent cocktail of a character. Swarmers are actually really dangerous, even with prep-time and automatic weaponry, just due to the sheer weight of numbers. Eventually, a gun is going to jam, or you'll miss, or run out of bullets, and the moment ONE zombie gets through the line, the rest will follow like a tidal wave. We've actually seen things like this in the real world, and human wave tactics, while possessing a horrific attrition rate, DO work, even against weapons and positions DESIGNED to resist such an assault. I'm mostly thinking of a revolt in a North Korean Concentration Camp, where in Inmates literally charged anti-personnel heavy machine gun emplacements with melee weaponry and actually overwhelmed them just because they couldn't fire bullets fast enough to mow down the prisoners before being beaten to death. You could also use the battle of Rorke's Drift in South Africa as another example. The Zulus suffered immense casualties, but they very nearly succeeded in taking the hospital just due to the fact that there was no end to them.
"I'm mostly thinking of a revolt in a North Korean Concentration Camp, where in Inmates literally charged anti-personnel heavy machine gun emplacements with melee weaponry and actually overwhelmed them just because they couldn't fire bullets fast enough to mow down the prisoners before being beaten to death." I think the game should include different types of hordes. Newt Hordes, Breaker Hordes, Screamer Hordes, Reacher Hordes, and even mixed hordes. That would give them an edge on the player.
Doesn't make sense but I think it's a horde when there is like 20 infected but generally only swarmers go together to form horda newts are limited since they don't reproduce and not many children got infected plus newts are scared of freakers and everything really
I wish but it isn't meant to be. Breakers don't get along with any other infected, it's on sight. Reachers are solitary hunters so no can do. Screamers I suppose could form a horde, but why would they? Once one infected sees you the entire horde does, it'd be redundant. Newts already form a horde of sorts. A mixed horde would be a mixture of everything I just said
Now we await doom eternal and the eventual shut down of his channel by Coppa at the first mention of "Feet" Tho in all seriousness I hope there are new demons.
I read a theory that once the infected become a freak, they are no longer contagious. This would make sense sense being bit or scratched doesn't infect you.
Between the time you first start playing the game and your first death is about how long you would last in a real days gone universe (unless you ended up in Tucker's slave camp).
I like how in the trailer. The screamer brings a horde of about 100 freakers. But when you play the game, She spawns literally 5 of them. Also, if you're in one of the guard towers flickering your flashlight at her, she can't do shit anyway.
I haven't done that since my first play when the game first came was on hard, which "was" the hardest difficulty. And I only died to mostly rippers, I think i only died to zombies 3 time, not counting the hordes. From my 20 mins. Of survival, it just hard with no hud and no vision To be fair, I really didnt do survival either besides test it out, so I dont know what else they added
You just telling us that we can survive thank you for this 20 minute and 35 second video I'll tell me that I won't be able to survive you're one of a kind thank you wow I didn't know that
This video was great. It pointed out something I even missed about how the survivors wouldn’t have had time to set up their bases with the relentless hordes chasing them down from around every corner.
@@matthewmcnally1186 how could you even think that’s cap a zombie is predictable cus all it wants is food and to infect a person who can actually think is unpredictable so I think I’d rather fight a goes then to deal with actual people
I love Days Gone for the style of gameplay it promotes, infected were actually more problematic early on with your limited weapons and the fact that they would actually dodge your aim. The way they foreshadow everything just enough to make you enjoy the story made it great. And even when you can take on the hordes, they are still not easy, they take puzzle solving and thinking, or time put into things. The Hooligan virus was a damn good concept, sad to see we will never see the future of what this world held onto.
@@Mr.Doodlebob It wouldn't be that hard though, it's not like they have superhuman hearing or anything you can drive a loud ass motorbike past them and they barely notice. Cars are wayyy quieter than bikes like that. Hiding in the woods like shown in the game would be a good strategy as most of the infested places would be in citys since Freakers set up nests in caves and buidlings, you could build a camp with some people and set up for the apocalypse but you'd need a lot of people
There are tree house communities around the world already so I feel like doing something like that might be ideal
Crater Lake was the most feasible for me when it comes to defense, as long as you can grow enough food there you are set

I love Deacon because even tho it's a generic explanation he was in the army, that explains why he's so good with firearms. This is a lot better than just randomly being a shooting prodigy who has no backstory with firearms.
helps a lot if you ask me because there's no way an average joe could not only survive the apocalypse but also be a drifter/bounty hunter like Deacon.
What I like about Deacon is that beside the shitty event that happened to him in the Army, he never brings it up too much. It's just something that he did for a while, the biker gang and his life afterwards are the focal points to his character.
@@SagaciousNihilistyou need to remember that Deacon is trained in military tactics, while marauders are simple survivors. They know only what they know. And the militia is composed of people who primarily fight freaks, so they're not used to fighting against humans like Deacon.

Funny thing is, it hooked me from the beginning
I'm just glad they finally made a game that takes place in my beautiful home state.
Does it really look like that or what
Mostly depends on where you live in Oregon lots of hills trees caves etc
It's very green in general. But we basically have every biome. Forests of course, swamps, desert in the east, mountain ranges, plains, etc.
Any time I fought a horde in this game I prepare physically, mentally and vertually I would not be able to handle an actual apocalypse
I want a sequel. Anybody else wanting a sequel to this great freaking game❓
"I'm mostly thinking of a revolt in a North Korean Concentration Camp, where in Inmates literally charged anti-personnel heavy machine gun emplacements with melee weaponry and actually overwhelmed them just because they couldn't fire bullets fast enough to mow down the prisoners before being beaten to death."

I think the game should include different types of hordes.
Yeah fuck off if I saw a horde of breakers I would shit myself before they killed me
I wish but it isn't meant to be.

I really wish they would make a days gone 2. I loved everything about the game
You can actually survived Days Gone's zombies pretty easy.
