I completely agree. The shaming of her character as "asking money for makeup" and not wanting her to talk to other people too much sounded more like over controlling victim shaming to me. Make up was her job. She was well known already for being outgoing, but there was nothing to say she was seeing other men.
He comes across to me as an over controlling male who even controlled communication with her family. His next wife was too meek to say boo to a ghost is my guess. He is entirely guilty.

Jealousy is such a awful toxic thing that affects every little thing around it.. i wish it wasn't common and that more people could be mature, level headed and supportive of other people's happiness. His parents were probably appalled by his poor choices, particularly leaving medical school, let alone “shacking up” (or “living in sin,” as they used to say) with a girl who came from nowhere with nothing. He may not have even bothered to ask them for help, knowing what they would say. The bigger question for me is, why didn’t he just walk away? I guess I don’t understand the kind of lust that drives such extreme obsession and jealousy. They were both gorgeous looking young people. May she rest in peace. Him? Meh…he essentially got away with murder; 13 years in prison is hardly a proper sentence for murdering someone and then discarding their body parts in a sewer.

Beautiful women suffer so much at the hands of those who are jealous. To this day, we hear of the murders of women at the hands of those who "love" them. Love isn't death...also, they "love" women to death. Why? Why kill someone because you love them? I'm sorry, if that's how you express your feelings please don't love me. I prefer loneliness.

😪 🌹Celia was quite stunning and Renee as well. Renee's jealousy was toxic as cancer. It slowly starts by controlling Celia wearing less makeup, so not to attract any other possible suitors, that might take Celia away. She was so innocent and loved Renee, that she probably thought his jealousy would go away..
😢 Unfortunately, what left, was her life.. Why didn't Renee get the death penalty Briefcase? I guess it was considered a crime of passion.
Women/men, I don't care how sexy or gifted he or she is, any sign of jealousy, and trying to control your whereabouts, attire, and who's with you, is a sign to sit down, and talk.. Try to manage it and seek outside help, before it gets out of hand. Can't be managed, then it's time to leave ASAP! Find a place that will help, house and protect you and your location. Very importantly, if your partner was ever physically violent to you, report the incident to the police, have it documented.
    💼Briefcase, thank for the story.

The couple was incompatible this way. She was unaccustomed to educated people and probably did somehow pressure him into dropping out of medical school. He grew weary of living in the ghetto and came to value his missed opportunities more than he loved his girlfriend. Plus you should never cohabitate with a significant other unless you're already at least engaged. And at first glance, I thought the red caption on the thumbnail said "Celia Melia". She realized that traditional avenues for upward mobility were blocked off to her, but her beauty could help secure a career in the performing arts. Her life plan was coherent. I'm not sure why he dropped out of medical school for her. Maybe she needed his employment income for immediate financial support and planned to dump him the moment she made it big. It looks that way. It seems that she was just using him as she ruined his future for selfish ends. But that doesn't excuse him killing her. It's each man for himself in this world and if he chose to let her sucker him, that's his problem.

Goood Morning Brief Case! 💼 The man was guilty! Despite his protests after his release. He was training as a medical doctor, so I believe it makes him even MORE culpable! He had ample opportunity to help her even tho he caused her harm by hitting her. He didnt get her assistance. Even after he thought she was dead and he stabbed her in the knee with the razor, and she protested. He should have rendered assistance or called for help. He didn't need to kill her or dismember her. The fact he hit her again and then dismembered her and packaged her up neatly and distributed the packages all over Cuba says he is a monster. He had no respect for her even after death. If he had ever loved her, that was not the way to treat her. It seems he had some psychopathy going on there ...with the jealousy and murdering and butchering her. I wonder if he had carried on the charade of her being fine even after her death when her family inquired. Sad that she was so badly decomposed that they had to identify her by her teeth! He was guilty, and haunted by her, I'm sure of it. How is it he lived so long while she was dead is beyond my comprehension. And how he did so little time when he should have rotted in that prison. Sad state of affairs, but he didnt get away with it, as others so often do. He was caught even if the punishment doesn't seem to have fit the crime.
Thanks for yet ANOTHER wonderfully presented case, and I hope you have a LOVELY week!
