- Who does not know that annoying balancer cable on the drone ? You always have to make sure that it doesn't get into the props. And when charging, it is often too short and you need an external balancer board or a XT90/60/30 extention on the charger. This is history now. Thanks to the detachable balancer cable on the battery.
In my view this is the future standard for quadcopter batteries. I don't see any disadvantage if the socket holds as many plugs as a normal balance plug. One downside I see is that if the socket goes bad, it will be harder to repair than a regular balance plug. But anyway I don't know if it's good to repair such batteries yourself. After all, these things are not harmless. In the event of a claim, an insurance company certainly doesn't like it if you repaired things yourself... It remains to be seen whether all manufacturers use the same connector system. So we don't need a hundred thousand cables...
I can't find any video about it. So I uploaded one. Mainly because I like it and I want to support this system.

As you can see here, you shouldn't actually charge any LIPO !
I'm now also a bit more concerned with safety when dealing with LIPO batteries after I saw some videos about that:
When charging, you should ideally use a fireproof surface such as a stone slab and ideally place the battery in a lipo bag or even better in a fireproof box with a smoke filter during the charging process. In addition, a smoke detector right above the charger is very helpful if you are not sitting right next to it when charging. When a battery fails, it is more likely to catch fire while charging than while in storage.
There are also numerous tips about storage. One of the cheapest are ammo boxes with the rubber seal removed, where 1-2 batteries are put into these boxes in a lipo bag. Several lipo bags are then in a ammo box. It would also be good to install a smoke detector above the storage.
The very best would probably be (in my estimation), of course, a large ceramic box with ceramic partitions.

It just occurred to me as I watched the video again: With a little work and a good connection system, you can convert any Lipo with a normal balance lead into one with a removable balance lead. Simply cut individual wires close to the battery and solder a connector system...

Sad to hear that and i can really believe it. The balancer cables always annoy me too, and are often a risk for a crash as the tangle can loosen. It's about time detachable balance cables became the norm. In order to support this, please only buy them, even if it's more expensive...
