I've only played DD2, and I quite enjoy it, but I've heard a lot of people are upset about the switch to shorter roguelike format, I really want to play the first game now. A long campaign sounds really awesome.
It is awesome and being able to get attached to a character and then have them die at max level is devastating in the best possible way.
