When people say “it takes a community” THIS is what they mean. The kindness in this simple act is huge! And problem solving the showering issue! Amazing! I was looking for a sewing guide to make my own ostomy bag covers and figured the person making this item would be doing it for themselves or maybe their child or family member not just “someone” in their community. The kindness here 🤯😭😭😭. Thank you.

Thanks very much for a clear, straight-to-the-point demonstration, and thank you also for the great idea to make one out of a shower curtain! Though my bag does dry somewhat quickly, it would be nice to have that option if I am short on time and want to save those few minutes getting ready.

My son-in-law has trouble with his bag leaking. Would you use a fleece material to make the cover for this? If not, could you recommend one. His bag is just temporary. It just leeks when he has to exercise. Thank you for your tortial ❣

Fleece sounds lovely and soft and absorbable, another fabric to try is PUL which is water proof. I would be interested to hear which works best forhiom.

Brushed cotton is good for softness and absorbing liquids.
I made brushed cotton drainage pads for my fistula. Moving on to colostomy soon but the brushed cotton has served me SO well for the last 5 years xx
