130-year-old Syracuse home demolished on Onondaga Avenue

  • The Wicker family had lived at 301 Onondaga Ave. in Syracuse for more than 50 years, raising several generations of children in the house. It was demolished on Dec. 2, 2021. Video by Chris Baker, David Haas and Katrina Tulloch.

    Extremely sad. All that workmanship, wonderful woodwork, history, gone forever.

    That is sad. Another sad iincident is when we sold our home in Baldwinsville to our neighbor. Our home had been built in 1787 and was log although you couldn't tell from the outside or inside. It had a beautiful Red Barn. The b*stard tore both of them down for his fence business. Sadly we never had it registered historically. He had told us that he was going to use it for an in-law house. Still breaks my heart.

    I used to live near this house. Too bad it couldn't be rehabbed and saved.
