Disability provided me 10,000 a year even though the doctors broke my immune system. Poverty is hard. Upstate university hospital denied me treatment because of my low income. They sent me home to die.

I live in NC but was born in Syracuse and lived 50 years in the Syracuse area. Syracuse has become a crap hole and it's sad to see its decline. As part of the rust belt, the loss of manufacturing over the years (Carrier and New Process Gear) were death blows to the area.
Democratic leadership, the rise of gangs, poor business climate in general in NYS, lack of pride in the community have all led to the current state of affairs there. Sidenote:. If a married couple is only making $26,000 maybe you shouldn't have kids.

Syracuse community health might’ve actually saved my life.
I had a really bad tooth issue, but because I had Fidélis and they don’t cover a lot unless it’s an emergency I went there to have it looked at. They referred me, and my insurance ended up covering the tooth removal. (Thank you Fulton Dental) I had an abscess apparently and before this, I also had an incredibly high white blood cell count. I actually have an issue with it since Thursday, but I have other health issues.
I don’t know if it was really a life or death situation, but I will say that was one of the most painful things I’ve ever been through and I’ve been through childbirth and have a connective tissue disorder. I go through pain on a daily basis and it was incredibly painful. But Syracuse community health really helped me out.

The food deserts don’t help either.

Here's a new idea and a new solution to combat childhood poverty in Syracuse.. Go have a talk with Ryan McMahon. I hear he's got 85 Million dollars that he wants to spend on a building to look at fish.. Priorities... People.. Priorities. We have Hungry and Homeless people living in Syracuse and have been for "Decades" .... You can't say "Where's the money gonna come from?" Its already here,,, its just in the wrong hands .... So Pathetic

Wasn’t Oswego county formerly first? Lockdown didn’t help.
