Hello folks. Sorry about all the heavy breathing 🤣 Do let me know if you want more slow content like this, or if you prefer the storytelling, mythology and tree folklore content Also, if you want to support my work you can do so on Patreon 👇 patreon.com/TheStoryCrow? Cheers!
Yes! You should find a good walking stick, like rowan or hazel, and make it a story stick! I would love to see more historic and mytholocical hiking stories! You inspired me to go to glastonbury tor this fall :)
I enjoy it all and look forward to every video. The deeper the dive the more I get out of it and the more times I listen to it,, but something funny and like last week is a nice bit of change. Just keep up what you've been doing. ❤
No matter whether it’s the slow walk format with little touches of history and silly moments… I’m thinking Blowstone Olly 🤭 or the stories, love it all. Love Nero too. I’ve had a lovely day and this was perfect to come home to with a cuppa ☕️ (no Tea icon, just coffee… bloomin American keyboard/emojis 🙄).
16:45 it's taken me an hour and a half to get to the rest of the walk.... Because I've just spent a wonderful time listening to Tamsins music....on Spotify, because I had to have a listen...wonderful songs 🎵 and an enchanting voice ❤ Right back to the walk...
Love this. I feel you are mixing things up just nicely on the channel. And heavy breathing is the normal background acoustics we all experience on a pack carrying hike like this - it’s just realistic footage! Thanks to all 3 of you for breaking through those pain barriers for us 🥵👍
I grew up in the desert of Central Australia, moved south to the Cornish copper coast, am an old hippy, into stinging nettles & such so can really relate, thanks.😊
3:20 Sir, you’ve won the game of life, she sounds so wonderfully giddy to see you and a fresh mug of morning Joe. Wouldn’t we all be so lucky to go on a pilgrimage with someone we love.
This was great you guys. I can’t even remember all the things you said that made me chuckle… ah, Tamsin wishing for a pint of full-fat coke was one 🤭 There were many others. Thanks for taking us with you. Look forward to part 3 ✨🫶🏻✨🍻
There's a 3 mile hike through some Native American mounds nearby, and I'm about to load up the dogs and head over for a couple of hours. Thanks for the inspiration. My only complaint about your content is that I have to sit still and pay attention, so I will catch the rest of this video after our walk. 💜
Greetings from fellow Hippie history buff and spiritual traveler in Oregon, USA. I’m enjoying so much this trek you have taken us along on. My life’s regret that I’ll never make it to Ireland, Scotland, and England. Thank you for sharing your hike, history, and connections you make with folks along the way.
I LOVE this whole thing. Thank you! Biggest love to your amazing dog, Nero. (Sp?) 💖 Also, Tamsen's dream and the image of the VW Golf, LOL. Seeing a cool classic American GMC truck like that out in the middle of rural England is quite a trip. Someone's got a lot of mula to afford that. Can't wait for more of these adventures or onsite tours, etc. woven with the stories.
It was quite surreal seeing that there, but nothing surprises me on the ridgeway - it’s a Dreaming Track. Editing the next one now in between other projects. Thanks for watching ☺️🙏✨
Thank you for your video. I was so looking forward to this one's love listening to all your work they are all brilliant all are very interesting and full of lots great information take care x
Thanks for showing the way. Really enjoyed this journey and very much would like to walk it one of these days. Especially like you guys wandering down into summer solstice Avebury. Looks like the track is well maintained. So good to hear friendly English discussions along the way. You summed it up very nicely - the aptness of beauty being spoken back into the land.
Absolutely loving your walk along the Ridgeway. Its great to follow you all along the way. Great narrative. Looking at the wonderful views makes me want to be there. ❤
This is an enjoyable little series! I like the fun banter between you both.😊 You seem like a lovely couple with Nero the bearded wizard dog leading the way, plus your editings getting better too!
Great video. This section of Ridgeway is familiar to me. There is a lovely loop walk that takes in Segsbury hill fort and circles back down through a hidden valley to Letcombe Regis and a cuppa at the village shop and cafe. 😊
I walked from Goring to Ogbourne St George (the same direction as you) two weeks ago. Still fresh in the mind so I remember most of what you filmed. Completely missed the turn-off to Segsbury Camp though...😐 I still have the last little bit to do. Maybe the equinox...
Oh wow, a ~ '60 - '66 GMC Stepside Pickup. [25:05] With jerry can carriers in the stepwells -- Just like on my '68 Chevy C/10 Stepside [well, mine's a later body style] . I would surmise US Air Force surplus. I've been driving mine 51 years now. They built 'em to be bombproof then, unlike more recent trucks. Nice to be reminded of Civilization -- in darkest Saxonia.
@@TheStoryCrow GMCs of this period had amazing V6 engines, 305 and 352 Cu. In. respectively. Not fast but huge torque. Unfortunately parts are rare now. GM started putting Chevrolet engines in the GMCs and in the next generation, '67/'72, they were all made on the same production lines, with every sixth truck getting 4 headlights and GMC badges. Besides my '68 Chevy, I have a '71 GMC 4x4 Jimmy [like a Blazer]. Love the old trucks.
The proverbial needle in the haystack is actually about 10 feet long. The metal 'needle' was pushed into the stack to test for a build up of heat, as, in certain conditions stacks can spontaneously combust. ✌

Thanks for taking us along with you on this enticing journey! Makes me want to come over the pond to walk it!
A nice long walk, beautiful sights and monuments and a lot of good stories about history and mythology. All my favorite things in one video :)

Beautiful time of year to be walking the Ridgeway.... you both earned the pub stop... good on all three of ya's 👏👏👏
Great stuff!
🎩Hi, nice to share your journey. Never heard of the blowing stone. Must give it a try.
Love your stories the wind really fucks with the sound at times though.

Ahhhh. That makes sense, there’s a US air base not far from there. Thanks for shedding light on what it was. Awesome pick up

He was very suspicious of those imperious long necked sheep imposters 😂

Not yet, but if you know a suitable venue / pub / fire then hit me up!
I was just wondering when the next instalment was coming out.
It will be winter solstice by the time I do the last one 😅
Coincidentally we were in Letcombe Regis yesterday (passing through on a walk) and saw that bendy Wantage signpost.
