    •  2 ปีที่แล้ว +72

      @@pats3212 Keaton & Affleck did fantastic interpretations. Being a fan of the comics doesn't definitively constitute an actor the sole right to play Batman, that criteria is daft. If the script is able to stand alone, then that should be enough. I'm a fan of the comics and I have no problem with whether they give a damn or not. I will give Pattinson an extra bit of credit in that he's the only one to mention Mask of the Phantasm as an influence. That's awesome.

    Nice to see a Batman actor talk about a book besides Long Halloween or Year One. I grew up on Legends of the Dark Knight (Shaman, Venom, etc.), and those darker depictions of Batman shaped my view of what Batman should be like. Really awesome to see Pattinson evoke Shaman as one of his inspirations.

    Few people are misunderstanding what Rob says. Yes, he says that Bruce wears the batsuit maybe he thinks it gives him some power. People should understand Bruce Wayne still had lot of psychological issues in his early years as Batman from that night onwards. He shown he is somewhat unstable in those times. So, may be Bruce might have thought that. Also, Bruce is always felt comfortable as Batman and in batsuit than going out as playboy billionaire.

    • @brucew565
      @brucew565 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I am sorry but Batman never dressed up as a bat because he thought the suit gave him extra powers or he thought the suit would devour him. There is not a single comic where that happens. Pattinson is pretentious and he didnt understand those comics. Bruce Wayne didn’t decide to walk-or swoop-around the streets of Gotham in a bat costume because he actually thought the suit gave him powers or devoured him. Wayne started dressing as Batman because he had a specific purpose in mind: to disguise his identity when he fought criminals. He also wanted his disguise to serve another function: to evoke fear in criminals. Additionally, Batman’s use of his attire is analogous to police officers wearing their uniform, or butlers wearing their uniform, when on duty. Uniforms (of which his costume is one) signal what the wearer’s role is. If you see someone in a police uniform, you expect certain kinds of behavior: If the officer pulls a gun and points it at someone running, it will likely mean something different to you then if the gun-holder wasn’t wearing that uniform. The uniform immediately conveys context to understand the wearer’s behavior.

      Grant Morrison (famous batman author) on Batman's mental health:
      "I never really subscribed to the idea that Bruce was insane or unhealthy. As I've said before, Bruce Wayne's physical and psychological training regimes (including advanced meditation techniques) would tend to encourage a fairly balanced and healthy personality. Bruce Wayne would have gone mad if he HADN'T dressed as a bat and found a startling way to channel the grief, guilt and helplessness he felt after the death of his parents. Without Batman, Bruce would be truly screwed-up but with Batman he becomes mythic, more than human and genuinely useful to his community. I believe he began to slay his demons the moment he became a demon."

      Dr. Travis langley (a real life psychologist), in chapter 14, called "The Assessment", of his book, says in very clear terms that Batman has no specific illness and is not insane or has any kind of mental issues. This is an excerpt from the chapter 14 of his book (the assessment) word for word without paraphrasing:- "Is he psychotic, homicidal, suicidal or gravely disabled? No. Does he have post traumatic disorder?? Even though he shows some symptoms, No. Does he have multiple personality disorder?? Even if that were the correct name for the disorder, no, that one's so far off the target, it's ridiculous. He is the one man who plays several roles and brings different characteristics to different situations with full awareness and memory of what he's doing. How about some sort of obsessive condition? No, no more so than the most driven athletes, activists and artists who make great sacrifices to fulfil their callings in life. If he were compulsive, he would have too little controls over his actions to function so effectively and for so long. People can have personality shortcomings without fitting a psychiatric diagnosis. Just to repeat, Dr. Langley says *NO TO PTSD, OCD, PSYCHOSIS, DISSOCIATIVE IDENTITY DISORDER*

And in that comic you literally see the suit as it's own creature speaking to Bruce saying there is no longer a separation between the two. He is now batman and only batman. Bruce Wayne is now the character portrayed to the public while Batman is who he truly identified as. I think Robert has a good amount of knowledge on batman and we should just appreciate that. Robert Pattinson has done a good job breaking away from "That guy from Twilight" - he was great in Tenet and even though it's quite early to say, I might be so bold as to say he's portrayed the best movie batman we've seen so far. He did feel like a detective, his voice didn't feel so forced, he felt like a good fit for the role.
