    Edit: please do try the app for yourself. Read up on how to stay safe online. You might find your person there. God just hasn't called me to apps.
    Its lovely they found each other on the app.
    I tried SALT for a time, but I found it was no different to the other secular apps. The people were the same.
    God bless them in their marriage.

    Or how about his requirements are that you’re blonde. If you’re spirit led you will realize that God could have the best match for you specially and that person may not be blonde. God’s requirements are not ours yet he knows us best and what we need is best. What ever he has for us will supersede our own expectations. No wonder people are constantly searching. They have unrealistic expectations… Yeshua is the light and the way. His will first always.

    We've all late night swiped & sometimes when someone writes back and you take a better look, you're not quite a match or you don't fancy them as much so it's a dilemma whether you respond or not. I say quick & painfull is best, unmatch them or say no thanks

    • @be_salt
      @be_salt  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah, if you don't feel the attraction that is best

    • @strachancoutinho1184
      @strachancoutinho1184 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Absolutely correct. So why did Rae stay matched with Fitz even though she had no intention of replying to him?! Don't you agree that that's rude and un-Christian?

  • @chidiebubeemenonye8352
    @chidiebubeemenonye8352 ปีที่แล้ว +15

    Unfortunately I'll say Rae was quite rude. Ignoring someone's message who you have matched with is not a good thing. It's very disrespectful and that's what I have experienced with matches. I end up deleting them. I can't stand it. Congratulations that it worked out for them and very good advice from them too.

      Maybe Rae wasn’t ready to date at that point. Why are people judging her as rude when there could be so many reasons why. Maybe she had stuff going on.

    • @strachancoutinho1184
      @strachancoutinho1184 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@Lauren-nr1wk Then why was she on the dating app? And why couldn't she have been honest with the guy and told him that? She clearly states in the video that she saw him as just a friend (after matching with him on a DATING app?!?!) so she deliberately didn't reply to his message, so there's literally no excuse for her behaviour.

    • @be_salt
      @be_salt  ปีที่แล้ว +11

      Looks like we need to do a video on dating etiquette and different ways of approaching online dating.
      For some, they will only match and message one person at a time because anything else feels disrespectful, like they're cheating or 'keeping their options open'.
      For others, they will match and talk to multiple people and even meet up in person with multiple people until it feels like something is developing with one to call it exclusive. This is actually a lot more like what happens if you're meeting people in real life at church or similar - you have multiple friends of the opposite sex with varying levels of engagement and attraction.
      We put a LOT of pressure on dating online. Yes, people on there should be in a position where they're ready to date for marriage. But the 'meet screen' and matching and chatting should probably be seen more like a social space where you have multiple friends of the opposite sex with varying levels of engagement and attraction. You might match with some because you fancy them instantly or you might match with others because you see potential for something to grow.
      Is that a bit brutal and hard to navigate? Yes! But so is dating in real-life within a church. Dating apps offer an imperfect solution to the problem of kingdom circles being small.
      If Rae hadn't have matched at all, there would be no marriage to speak of. Was it perfect dating etiquette? Don't know! That's where the conversation is and what this channel is about... and it's ok to disagree!

    Just because you are matched, does not mean that you have to speak to the person. If I met you in real life I would have the prerogative to not speak with you. I love the way people make life decisions based on internet dating. Really asking the Lord to lead x

      Different dating etiquette?

    • @strachancoutinho1184
      @strachancoutinho1184 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Then why stay matched with that person?!?! If you don't want to talk to someone then stop wasting their time and have the decency to unmatch them! And in real life, are you seriously suggesting ignoring someone if you don't want to talk to them?! Your comment proves that Christians are no better than non-Christians, and why I'm open to dating non-Christians.

      @@marinac8072 Unfortunately most women on dating apps (including Salt) believe that they are above basic respect and human decency and are of the view that they have the right to treat other humans like filth. It is sinister.
