I love the idea that it looks innocent but then surprise it has heavy weapons to deal with large ships if it can be lucky to catch them at the right moment and a very rebel idea for a former cargo ship.
This ship is gorgeous. I could absolutely see this being canon due to the high detail. Good freakin job! Also isn't that pointy ship in the bottom left the Imperial Escort Carrier? I'd imagine it was stolen and repurposed by the Rebels.
This is why I like your channel, you figure out ways of making odd stuff work within existing lore in sensible way. Unlike Disney who just seem to do whatever the current director fancies at any given time. It's what makes your fan ship details feel more lore friendly than actual canon ships.
An idea I would have for another redesign would be the imperial Razor-class frigate which looks like a cut out ISD command section. It is canon and only appeared in a small comic book which was published only in Germany and Austria. The author said that he isnt happy with the design and said that he would have designed the ship today sleeker with more visible weaponry on it.
1:08 When you say it resembles a pizza paddle, I felt like it actually has a striking similarity to a tank turret. I feel like the special effects guys and model makers at ILM just kitbashed some model tank kits and stuck them in the background shot never dreaming that anyone would ever be able to get a good look at them.
This might be my favorite ship in all of Star Wars. It’s too big to be a “hero” ship like the falcon but it’s size would let you tell the story of an interesting crew running missions throughout the outer rim and smuggling supplies and personnel onto imperial worlds.
Wait, when did you do the "Corellian Tug ship?" I don't think you have that video up. Great job, Henry! Love the new ship. I think this ship as a mobile, small-scale fighter production and maintenance yard is a great idea. I can totally see Rebel fighters being fabricated on something like this. And of course, the other jobs are very nice as well. So it sounds like your contact for the other models you were able to use as reference didn't have this one. The original film model is still lost in the ether, huh?
I think he just uploaded it on art station but never truly mentioned he did it. However, it is in some of his redesign videos when he shows his previous designs.
Love it!! the rendering, the back story and the start for the other two ships stories. I hope someone with Disney’s Star Wars division/Lucas arts division see this, contacts you and rolls with it! It’s more than deserved
Wow. This is crazy, just in the realm of how I interpreted your screen caps versus what you did with the design. Just speaks to human interpretation I guess. Awesome job, man
You and the artists involved in these videos really outdid themselves. Love the passion and authentic feel you guys give each ship that has been so long forgotten. You guys are amazing.
I really like the idea of a small but mobile starship refit/repair facility. Especially given most rebel hangars were so full of ships and supplies that it'd be prohibitive to perform anything other than simple maintenance or repairs in them. The rendering also is beyond beautiful. You have a gift.
So I stumbled over your Channel ...and Buddy i'am Speechless. what you have done with all the Rebel Background Ships beats everything Star Wars related Disney has put out since acquiring the Rights to it. This checks so many Boxes They are aesthetically on Point (In- and Exterior)and would seamlessly go into the Original Trilogy. Even the tiny bits and Ideas in Terms of Background and Lore for this Ships you put in fits way better then the Disney Stuff.
So this is definitely different from i was picturing. A long, axi-symmetrical ship, with some gun pods on the prow and the bridge somewhere in that dome, in the middle. Like a repurposed yacht. There would be an access tunnel to the gun pods, where ammo and torpedoes would also be stored, where it’s extended to better dissipate heat (a common theme in SW, thinking of the B-wing primarily). However, it could be fully automated with droids so that the vulnerable portion stuck out wouldn’t endanger lives, unlike the Nebulon-B. Breaking that middle shaft wouldn’t render the ship inoperable, just without much of its firepower. Maybe not a corvette by definition, but about the size, with surprising armament. But I like your creative approach. I’m getting serious XB-70 Valkyrie vibes from the 6 large engines at the back. Looks super cool, and the detail is incredible, like always!
I am quite new to your different vids on Star War sand Star Trek and I have to say, they're all very impressive. The story you add to each ship is really the best touch.
Good job on that design. That looks and feels more like OG starwars then anything made outside of the original trilogy. Very 70s to early 80s scifi starship design. I wish major studios would hire you to design ships for their scifi series, because they have lasting appeal unlike modern day designs which are overly generic and unimaginative.
4:05 I like how this scene shows an Imperial Nebulon-B (Which you covered in another video) and this obscure ship going toe-to-toe. It shows how much effort you put into these things.
@@anzaca1 Nope, it's an original model which is literally made by enlarging a Star Destroyer and adding an ugly cannon and a red paint job (sorry, I meant red stripe.)

I'm still amazed that star wars hasn't hired you, or even just bought these designs off of you to use in one of their projects. With shows like the mandalorian taking place in the outer rim I absolutely could see one of these ships appearing in it, possibly even as the personal ship of a specific character or organisation. Imagine a group of pirates operating one of these with the aftermarket turbolaser you modelled!

This is truly some spectacular work, not only are you one of the most talented 3D modelers I’ve seen, you’ve gone above and beyond just rendering a ship, it’s quite amazing how seamlessly your lore fits with canon and the variations of the three ships, the interior, as well as the droid models, shows just how dedicated of a fan you are. I always love your work and I can’t wait to see more of your content.

I love all of your videos on these missing ships but this is by far and away my favourite. Its not just the design but the depth of your lore is amazing.
I hate to say all the design ideas look wrong, at least to me. It's most like the 3rd one but in as narrow lengthy-width ratio as the 2nd one, but the rear is also more rounded None the less, I love these videos to which literally nobody else makes the same ones ❤️
I really love the YT-950's assymetry in it's design you made. Modular elements from smaller models, Fits like a glove with the millennium falcon, that in itself is a lopsided spaceship. Pizza pan, meet Burger with olive
Also all your ships and backstories are 100% canon to me especially because they contradict nothing in canon and only add SO much to it. Love your work dude. Keep it up.

I come back to these ship design videos again and again because they’re so engrossing and I see something new every time!
It's what makes your fan ship details feel more lore friendly than actual canon ships.
id love to see the smaller ship on it’s own, separate from the mother ship!
Dude the amazing lore pluses the God tier design. Ur so good at this wtf
Sorry 3 ships +lore should have watched the whole thing before commenting
This is literally my favorite series on youtube. Bringing to life obscure Star Wars ships in glorious detail. ILM needs to hire you guys.
These videos deserve millions of views, not just thousands. These videos are my favorite on TH-cam and I’d love to see your designs used in cannon.
Thank you for sharing. I never would've heard of that ship otherwise. I just looked it up on Wookieepedia
It’s too big to be a “hero” ship like the falcon but it’s size would let you tell the story of an interesting crew running missions throughout the outer rim and smuggling supplies and personnel onto imperial worlds.
thank you so much for this
you are a legend, Star Wars is great because of fans like you
You haven't done a video on the "Corellian Tug." It looks cool, and you should do a video about it.
I agree!
"It's the bridge/front module of a CR90"
video ends
@@kubli365 I agree, but it would still be cool to see what kind lore and backstory he can come up with.
its already on pornhub
@@TheArcWelder hahaha
This is an incredible achievement, EC Henry you have outdone yourself
Beautiful as ever, congrats to E.C.H, A.K, O.M, and M.H for all the hard work paying off. I wanna fly this ship!
Very well done Henry. Amazing design.
@@imperialpatriot6693 including this video.
Best “obscure ship” vid yet! The droid story - chef’s kiss!
This is my favorite lore channel. Seriously, no one dives this deep.
Damn... another smashing hit of your re-imagenation on these obscure ships!!! Keep up the AWESOME work
I’m a simple man. I see EC Henry doing more for Star Wars ship variety then Lucasfilm, I click
He's taking things that already existed.
Simple AND unoriginal.
Your detail in the background you put into your ships is simply incredible and this is no exception. Excellent good sir. Truly excellent.
These renders are incredible! It genuinely looks like you had practical models built for this
Thanks! Glad you like them!
Please never stop this series I love your starwars ship building/re-imagining content its so good and all your ships look amazing!
Love it!! the rendering, the back story and the start for the other two ships stories.
I originally thought it was a G9 rigger without the bottom wing (also nice new droids. They seem like the predecessors to BB units)
So I stumbled over your Channel ...and Buddy i'am Speechless.
what you have done with all the Rebel Background Ships beats everything Star Wars related Disney has put out since acquiring the Rights to it.
This checks so many Boxes
They are aesthetically on Point (In- and Exterior)and would seamlessly go into the Original Trilogy.
The passion you have for giving these ships a story is nothing short of admirable
I swear whenever I believe that you can’t outdo yourself, you end up outdoing yourself
4:05 I like how this scene shows an Imperial Nebulon-B (Which you covered in another video) and this obscure ship going toe-to-toe. It shows how much effort you put into these things.
Wait, so ROTS had tons of unique ships for that massed fleet shot, while reusing the Rogue One model for the Sith Fleet, wtf?
The Xyston is NOT just a reused model.
I don't recall a massed fleet shot in Revenge Of The Sith.
Anzac-A1 welllllllllllllllllllllllllll it kinda is
@@themadladorian4364 Just joking ;)
@@anzaca1 Nope, it's an original model which is literally made by enlarging a Star Destroyer and adding an ugly cannon and a red paint job (sorry, I meant red stripe.)
This by far, is your finest work. I have followed you since you've started this channel... And this is the best. From one artist to another, please keep it up :) You and your team kick so much ass!
I have just recently found your channel, and I am in love with your designs, backstories, fleshed out details, and more. Please keep this up! I adore this world building.
Astounding ! This wonderful work shows a true knowledge and respect for the SW universe and a real artistic talent. You belong to the SW art department.
Really love the "battle shots" I'm this video. excellent work!
yeah especially since they incorporated his older fan fiction ships
You can find this battle shot here! www.artstation.com/artwork/Yaw3o6
Henry I love your Redesigns of these obscure forgotten ships without you I doubt Star Wars media would ever give these forgotten ships any attention like we are right now so i am grateful you restored the forgotten ships
2:28
How the hell do you do that model so good
This one man is coming up with better lore then all of Disney.
I hope your designs get into the EaW mods
after many years I have found this channel again.
I am curious as to how you would make a sequel A-wing look, that would be a tall task.
I absolutely love this ship , both the visual and narrative design is amazing .
You should talk to so Empire At War modders, I’m sure they would love to add your ships to their mods
I love all of your videos on these missing ships but this is by far and away my favourite. Its not just the design but the depth of your lore is amazing.
I hate to say all the design ideas look wrong, at least to me. It's most like the 3rd one but in as narrow lengthy-width ratio as the 2nd one, but the rear is also more rounded
None the less, I love these videos to which literally nobody else makes the same ones ❤️
Awesome stuff! Great work! This is the spirit of Star Wars! I love it!
I'm usually irked by asymmetrical ships.... But your YX-960, YT-2400, and the YT-1300 are special exceptions :)
While asymmetrical, there is still a balance to the ships.
@@Janoha17 very true.
Finally somebody who inserts some good realism into star wars! Keep it going!
I don't think you ever talked about the coreillian tug ship.
I really love the YT-950's assymetry in it's design you made. Modular elements from smaller models, Fits like a glove with the millennium falcon, that in itself is a lopsided spaceship. Pizza pan, meet Burger with olive
Can you do this for the prequel movies also
Make a missile out of the kitchen sink in ROTS.
Also all your ships and backstories are 100% canon to me especially because they contradict nothing in canon and only add SO much to it. Love your work dude. Keep it up.
Uploaded 35 seconds ago when I clicked it. Cool.
I cant get this video out of my head. The effort EC-Henry put into it is amazing and the ship turned out awesome. It's great to see someone who loves Star Wars enough to strive for excellence. Inspiring.
Thank you for your service to the fan-base.
