  • Today we visit a unique style of tank as we carry out a regular service and water change. Look out for this one in the future when it's fully stocked, as it will likely be a contender for our Epic Tanks and Why They Work series.

    OMG. THAT sound - water streaming off/down your arms and splashing onto the floor - I am very familiar with that..... It was really cool to see your relief when the morph rock was finally in there, I can totally relate! 😂 another truly interesting and enjoyable video! 👍🏻👍🏻

      I was starting to think I wasn’t going to be able to get that morph rock to stick, and that would have been mega embarrassing, so I can tell you the relief was genuine😂

    Awesome video as always Cam. Really dig that tank. Recently I put together a similar smaller version of this tank in an old AO 160 and drilled out the middle of it for the weir/return. You’ve given me some ideas for tweaking it.
    This featured tank looks very sleek! Well done.

    With an aquarium that nice i bet they could afford an apex. That could have alerted someone of the empty reservoir and prevented the skimmer from dumping weeks worth of waste back in the water.
    New subscriber, i like your videos M80

    Hope the glass is thick enough at that height , I remember the Phoenix 700 ,
    told him it was too thin of glass and it did break 700 gallons of water on the floor.

    • @GalleryAquaticaTV
      @GalleryAquaticaTV  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, I’ve seen many tanks made with dangerously thin glass but this one is definitely safe. Cam

    Great video.. .. where did you get the 180 gallons of new saltwater? Do they have a container on site?

    • @GalleryAquaticaTV
      @GalleryAquaticaTV  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Mike, I carry natural seawater on my ute and trailer, as seen in an earlier video “Acro Dream Tank”. Some clients do have their own water storage, but for most clients I bring all the water required. Cam

    What use is the chiller under the cabinet? Is the heat that its expelling not just being absorbed back into the sump water and then back to the tank ?

    • @GalleryAquaticaTV
      @GalleryAquaticaTV  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It’s a Teco 2000. It actually exhausts out of the cabinet and keeps the temp to 25 degrees quite effectively. Cam

      I think next time I attempt to glue in corals low down I’ll be swimming in the tank😂

  • @battyjoe
    @battyjoe 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Doesn’t the chiller heat the sump area and thus the water itself?

    • @GalleryAquaticaTV
      @GalleryAquaticaTV  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      The chiller exhausts straight out of the cabinet. I wish I’d shown that in the video because until we arranged this we couldn’t control the tank temp. Cam

      Makes sense. Super fast reply I’m still watching the video !

  • @TattooedDancer91
    @TattooedDancer91 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Super nice! Quick question: The corals you use are all Australian right? You can't import corals to the reef tanks from other countries right? It's nice to see and recognize corals from your videos, to see they're Australian and see you use them in awesome tanks like these. Like the massive xenia and the green corallimorph.

    • @GalleryAquaticaTV
      @GalleryAquaticaTV  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      TattooedDancer91 thanks for the question, yes that’s totally correct. We can only get Australian corals here. This tank is only at very early stages of introducing coral.. we cannot wait to fill it out!

  • @Cliffepoos
    @Cliffepoos 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Lovely tank, but howcome most of the tank you show have limted kinds of fish in them?

    • @GalleryAquaticaTV
      @GalleryAquaticaTV  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      This tank actually has quite a few fish, but we didn’t really focus on them too much in this video. We probably do look at the fish more closely, especially because the fish in this tank are really nice fish. Cam

    @thefishing4 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Hi, enjoyed the video . If u dont mined me asking i have a 300 liter tank with soft corals. What would you recommend for filtration?i have carbon and run a skimmer at the moment

    • @GalleryAquaticaTV
      @GalleryAquaticaTV  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Alex, I typically like to run biological media like Marine Pure balls or the Maxspect Bio Spheres. Check out the videos “Pimp My Aquareef”. We set up a really effective filtration system in that tank which is also 300L. Cam

    • @thefishing4
      @thefishing4 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks cam, have watched them. think I will look at getting a dosing system, i must admit I don't test for calcium and magnesium so will find some good test kits first and go from there.
      Thanks Alex

    How often do you clean the glass,am and how do you clean it in such a deep tank?

    • @GalleryAquaticaTV
      @GalleryAquaticaTV  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Good question that we forgot to cover... The client does most of the glass cleaning with a Flipper Max magnet cleaner, I think every 2-3 days. We do the substrate line with a long handle scraper. Cam

      Google “whitespot disease of marine fish”. There are a variety of methods to treat this disease, however moving the fish to a quarantine tank and treating with a treatment such as Seachem Cupramine is the most effective. Cam

  • @Dan-fv7cp

    All that top equipment and a tank of that volume, that could be so much better than it is, I know you have to have a column to hide the over flow but would be so much better spending all the cash and time and effort on a peninsula, but hey, customer wants customer gets. .....

    • @GalleryAquaticaTV
      @GalleryAquaticaTV  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      We didn’t design the tank, we were brought into the job when the glass was in place and the overflow needed to be covered. This tank will be great, but definitely suffers some challenges that a peninsula tank does not. Cam
