      I’m donating my body to science as living I can’t donate blood, marrow, and I don’t think I can donate organs. It’s probably a stupid thing to be upset about but having autoimmune diseases, it’s not safe to give to others in those ways. I’m hoping some day someone will study and show the damage to my body and bring awareness in the ways that you do. I’ve been trying to donate blood to science for studies but currently there are none on my diseases. 😞

    In future videos, will you go into how connective tissue disorders (like Ehlers Danlos Syndrome) effect the body? I think the biggest misconception about EDS is that it affects literally every part of the body because CT is everywhere, most people think its just "double jointedness". My doctors are baffled that the cartilage in my ears and throat have collapsed or broken (I have a very disfigured ear just from sleeping on it and it breaking so easily), I think they are forgetting that it too is a connective tissue and having EDS means its affected by my condition...

    • @chasself4709
      @chasself4709 ปีที่แล้ว

      Other connective tissue disorders, too. I have Marfan Syndrome and most people have never heard of it. Life threatening complications are a huge risk and missed diagnoses have lead to many sudden deaths from aortic dissection.

    Can you do a video on the thyroid gland? I have a tumor on mine. I’ve always had a thicker neck, high metabolism, shaking, intolerance to heat and other symptoms I managed on my own. Until one day, I was working at Duke University Hospital and felt a lump on my neck and low and behold, I met Inez. I learned that a lot of people are walking around with cysts in their thyroid and I was one of the lucky ones who had tissue growth with blood flow. But she’s not cancerous. So we’re leaving her in there because the symptoms of hyperthyroidism is easier to maintain than hormone replacement. I just find the whole thing fascinating.

    According to Edward Elric the human body composes of 35 liters of water, 20 kilograms of carbon, 4 liters of ammonia, 1.5 kilograms of lime, 800 grams of phosphorous, 250 grams of salt, 100 grams of saltpeter, 80 grams of sulfur, 7.5 grams of fluorine, 5 grams of iron, 3 grams of silicon, and traces of other elements. Mnemonic devices are actually really interesting and helpful.
    One that comes to mind is from my private pilot ground school instructor.
    There’s a type of fog called terrestrial radiation fog. (On clear, calm, and cool nights after a sunny day the ground is warmer than the air which causes it to condense)
    In order to make us remember, our teacher places his thumbs to the sides of his head with his palms facing out and goes “ALIENSSS!”
