      This is why baby quilts are the best. I love to combine high contrast and add different textures. It is great for haptic development! ❤❤❤

    This is perfect timing. I’ve been planning to piece a strip quilt right on the longarm; then go back and quilt a different motif in each strip. This will give me some great ideas to try! Thank you so much! 🌷

    I love the feather you did on the red strips. After I stitch-in-the-ditch all my seams, I do one of these feathers in a random pattern over the entire top. Once I get the spine down, it is stress free to fill in - I vary the size of the loops to fill in the curves. I love that there is no backtracking!

    • @quiltingnerd
      @quiltingnerd  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      This type of a feather is quite laid back. I needed some time to get it right, but quilting one whole quilt only with different feathers will do the trick. I like traveling in general, the thread build up can be a powerful design tool, but yes, sometimes you need something more neutral. ❤❤❤

      Hi Patricia, Quilting sampler is a great idea. I am woring on a quilt for my son and it consists of large clam shells. Again I wanted to use many different designs and I used one of my YT projects as inspirations. I quilted many different clamshells, all with different patterns. The sampler was small but I can scale up many of the ideas ❤❤❤

    our church has a quilt ministry and we make quilts for sick people and we put embroidery yarn in corners for people to pray over the quilt and person that it's given to. they tie knots inthe yarns and the quilt is presented to the person with all of our prayers tied into the four corners. they are like 52 by 65 inches .

      It is a wonderful and very beautiful initiative. It fits so well with the iea of quilt giving anyway. When we quilt we putvthere our love and hopes that our quilt will provide some comfort and protection. It is an expression of love. Thank you that you shared this with us!

    I cannot wait to end of video...Can you please tell me what thread you are using to quilt with? Is it metallic?I love the image it gives. THANK YOU

    • @quiltingnerd
      @quiltingnerd  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Two more. I finished it (binding is left...) and I am very happy with the result. About the thread. I used polester embroidery thread on top and cotton 50 wt thread in my bobbin. It works quite well most of the time. They are a bit shiny and they look great also on video, which is important. I tried once quilting with metallic thread... there is even a video of that... it works but it is soooo slow ❤❤❤
