I always loved Blue since i'm 6! (i didn't watch the video cuz i want to play the game for knowing more about him!)
In Water blue the starters are them because Blue in pkmn yellow has an Evee, Canonically has a Blastoise in the anime (and as a common community idea), and in the manga has a Charmander. A good little detail

It’s loosely based off the Pokémon Manga. If you guys haven’t read it. It’s amazing. It’s alot more gruesome than the Pokémon anime. Ash and Gary don’t exist in the Manga world. They are Red and Blue (Green)
First game is based on the manga, at least the part in the forest, don't know the training with chuck though

You don’t play as your rival in this game, you play as Blue from the Pokemon Adventures Manga.
You should read the Pokemon Adventures Manga, it takes a Jojo-esq approach with the protagonists.

this is a really old game. u should try the newer version. its not a gba game, but it was made by the same guy. these games are based on the manga which is way cooler than the anime ngl.
