I loved this episode. The fact that the conversation between Twilight and Desmond is so tense and makes you think much deeper into both of these complicated and complex men. I loved how Twilight played on like three-four angles and achieved more than one goal. He now made himself known to Desmond, pushed Desmond and Damian closer together, and gave Damian a push towards Anya as well. He also memorized Desmond’s bodyguards faces and numbers. It was really well written.
Ewin and Emile are such good friends. The whole time Loid was gasing Damian up to his father and talking about how great his presentation was they were sitting off to the side like 😃
One of the standout chapters in the manga imo is chpt 39 which is entirely about Damian, Ewin, and Emile and their friendship. If you (or anyone reading this) haven't read it, I'd highly recommend it. It's 100% separated from the other characters/plotlines so even anime onlys can read just that chapter and not be spoiled on anything else.
Good news is Season 2 + a movie were announced so Spy x Family fans are gonna be eating good. If you guys ever need some more shows to watch, I'd love to see your reactions to Edgerunners!
I wondered how the dub would work… especially since a lot of it is plays in Japanese language… Kind of like how Anya mistakenly calls her parents “Chi chi & Ha ha” which is not how you address your parents.
It’s an essential part of the character… she’s like a 3 year old that’s trying to live as a five year old despite having a traumatic upbringing. You eliminate it and you lose what makes Anya.
When it comes to dubs, I usually watch them whenever there's specific actors/actresses are in them. Like when you know they sound amazing, you want to hear them.
If you're curious about dubs, you all should check out the dub for Kaguya-sama. The narrator is so insane that it's worth it just for him. Ladies, take care.

If there’s any dub I recommend it’s the Spanish dub! Loid is perfect, he sounds like the English voice actor speaking Spanish, I prefer Yor’s since her voice is a directed to be little more composed at certain moments, and Anya’s is amazing. She sounds like what the English dub was going for but couldn’t achieve. The only bad one is Damians. He sounds like a grown man, but that seems to be a problem in almost all the dubs.
I had my parents watch the first 12 episodes too but I had them watch sub which was probably a mistake. They liked it but got lost trying to read sometimes lol. This is one of the few animes my parents would actually enjoy.
For dubs, the shows from early to late 2000s are elite (Death Note, Code Geass, Gurren Lagann, Baccano, Eureka 7, the big 3 etc.). The modern anime dubs don't hit quite as the older ones, but they're still good for the popular shows.
Yeah sadly I doubt that we'll get any real loid/yor romance for a while, if at all. As a sympathizer I'd suggest more romance animes where you're guaranteed to get something (Maid Sama is my personal favorite). I would also suggest k/c dramas if you are looking for romance but that's a whole different genre.
Hm, seems like Episode 25 covered Two Chapters(Chapters 37 & 38 respectively) as well, just like I was expecting, At same time, Anime has now also officially covered all of Volume 6, with the First Chapter of Volume 7 included, While this Episode covered the entire Imperial Scholar Mixer Story itself, this wasn’t necessarily the official End of the Imperial Scholar Mixer Arc, because past this point there’s a couple of Chapters with more Self-Contained Stories within them included, that was probably just included into this Arc because they didn’t fit in anywhere else, so it will be interesting to see what they plan to do with them, as well as Extra Chapter 2, And so, with all of that, with the Very First Contact between Twilight and his Target, Season 1 of Spy x Family has now officially Ended, i gotta say they did pretty well with adaptation of this First Season, it certainly makes me look forward to Season 2 and how it will be like in comparison, it will be very interesting to see how well they handle everything else of this Series, Whatever the Future holds for Spy x Family, i will look forward to see what is in store regardless, As for all of you, i hope you’ll stay tuned, because you have still seen nothing of what Spy x Family can have in store for you, hehehe.
3:00 - To be fair, there have been good Dubs in the past, it just seems like they are the exception and not the rule. Cowboy Bebop is the only one that comes to mind (I know there are others, just can't think of them off the top of my head) from way back when I was young and watched exclusively Dub that was fantastic, but since then every time I accidentally start watching a Dub from newer shows the voices just sound goofy to me.
Since you guys bring up the dub, I watched the series dub first. So I’m used to John Lithgow (the grand father in Interstellar and main character in 3rd rock from the sun) as the narrator. My only mental disconnect is the sub narrator voice is so harsh in comparison. Whereas Lithgow almost has a grand fatherly tone. Kinda changes the mode on the show.
When I really like an anime, I rewatch it in dub too, even if it’s just to hear the voices used or certain moments. Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to find the time to watch more, and my list of shows is just growing longer and longer.
It was a pleasure rewatching this wonderful series with you. SxF was what brought me to your channel and follow your content. I know you will love Season 2 too and Im eager to see you again for that one.

anyas va is one of the main reasons I can't watch the dub, sorry to her. It's hard enough for the Japanese va to sound like she's playing a four year old but the English VA doesn't sell me at all, to the point of distraction 🥲 it's always One voice in dubs for me lol
Considering how difficult it is to get children to voice child characters in non-live-action stuff - if not impossible - I decided long to put that in permanent suspension of disbelief. ^I know full well that virtually every character in animation is voiced by adults, including young male children frequently being voiced by women (which is true of Damian and friends), and being hung up on that stuff just gets in the way of the experience, personally speaking. So what really matters if if they can sell the character's personality or not, and but I think both of Anya's VAs do that well, so I enjoy both
I wouldn't get your hopes up for any real Loid and Yor relationship content anytime soon. Loid seems to have no romantic interest in Yor right now, and is keeping their relationship strictly business, for the sake of Operation Strix. If anything were to happen that would lead them to a real relationship, it would be towards the end of the series. I'd feel bad for Fiona though.

I agree so much on the whole Anya's dub voice conversation. I tried watching a few episodes but had a hard time getting past it. There are some really good adult VA's who do the kid's dub voices really well. You guys should listen to Eri's dub voice from MHA. It makes me sob it's so cute;
Personally, I never had any trouble with Anya's dub voice, because her VA nails the childish behavior of a little kid ^If they can sell the character, their voice not being fully child-like is a non-issue imo.
Anime dub gets a lot of unnecessary hate. I never fully understand why. I personally didn't think Anya's voice was bad at all, I honestly thought it was cute. But I'm happy to hear you guys are broadening your horizons.
Hopefully, we get more Yor and Loid content in S2. I definitely want to see more development with them. Nonetheless a little bummed that this lovely series is over....for now at least 😅
