One million people watching this in person, lining the harbour foreshore. Sydney Harbour most beautiful and largest harbour in the world lined with multi million dollar homes with this view
The fireworks are electrically connected and controlled by computer. The music from radio stations is synchronised with the fireworks. Here is your official invitation to come and see us all whenever you might like to come.
That was a fun response :D These fireworks whose cost repays in tourist receipts have just been getting bigger and more intense for decades now. And Sydney folks who spend the day just jostling for a good viewing position tend to get quite hoity-toity in reviewing one display over another. You, on the other hand, came to it fresh. It IS amazing and I personally spent 7 hours in transit plus another 2 hours walking just to catch a decent glimpse. Happy '25, man! 🌠
I swear every single day I think how lucky I was to be born in Australia 🇦🇺. I love this country and the people. Peaceful, beautiful, clean, social responsibility, care for the environment, beautiful weather….im in heaven. Even if you are broke you can still go to the beach, parks, catch a ferry on our breathtaking harbour for a few dollars, get medical care, social welfare etc.
More firepower on that bridge than the whole of the Australian Defence Force🤣. Happy New Year everyone. I live 2333 kms North of Sydney but must say I am proud to be an Aussie when I see that. Sydney certainly is a beautiful city, especially around the harbour.
I live over 12miles (20km) away from the City and you can see and feel the pyrotechnics in the show. The amount of explosions in one show it’s incredible.
I live in SYD, and yes, this is what our fireworks look like 🎉🎆✨️ It very advanced and beautiful, and they do in a way to not cause too much air pollution. 🎉🎉
As an Australian, watching these fireworks is always beautiful. Watching on tv is great, but nothing beats actually being down their on NYE to celebrate. This is what 9 tonnes of fireworks look like, spread up and down Sydney Harbour. 🥰
Sydney Sider here. Grew up watching this every year and it never gets old. I can’t be anywhere else on new years, it’s just not the same! No new years event comes close to Sydney Fireworks on NYE! All the best in 2025 everyone!!🎉🎉
I lived in Kirribilli for 6 years with front and centre views of circular quay, the bridge and opera house. You could feel the explosions. The streets were packed, and everyone was vibing. It's a great thing to experience.
Hello! Casually reading off a newsletter from The Sydney Morning Herald here, the 2024-25 NYE fireworks had nine tonnes of fireworks launched at 16 different locations over the 20 minutes of show, which was 8 minutes longer than the 12 minute 2023-24 fireworks. There were also 23,000 individual pyrotechnic shots, 40,000 shooting ground-based effects and more than 13,000 aerial shells included in the display with an estimated cost of $6.3 million AUD--says SBS Australia. The fireworks stretched seven kilometres (if I'm calculating correctly, that's 22965.9 feet (sorry Americans if this doesn't make sense!)) and reached a height of 450 metres! Also, there was more than 1000 boats on the water... best view ever! Sorry for ranting all, Happy New Year!
As a very proud Australian, Sydney's fireworks show is the best in the world. To experience in person is very overwhelming. The same family has done the fireworks for over 36 years now. They take pride in the display and step it up every year. I am happy to see your reactions of awe and surprise. Australia is very real and yes, the fireworks are over 10 million for 2 shows 9pm and midnight.
There’s over 1 million people from all over the world on the foreshore watching this. It goes for 30 minutes . Every Capitol site and every largish town has their own fireworks. That’s our carbon emissions for the whole year right there lmao
there are so many vantage points in the suburbs that all the people at home can find a spot in their local area. and the cheers at the end ring around the city
I timed our drive that night to be on the bridge for the 9pm fireworks. My daughter got some great Insta pics and videos. EVERYONE was going under 20KM/h, it took almost 10 minutes to cross so we saw the lot. Fantastic!
It's worth noting that was the 2nd fireworks of the night, the first one being 9pm so kids can watch it and then off to bed. Having witnessed it first-hand I have to I was overwhelmed, it seemed so surreal. Anyway, I am glad you enjoyed it.
Ah bro, I work on an indigenous charter boat company and I was there!!! It was truly spectacular!!! Our government gets this right every single year !!
Every Aussie looks forward to seeing what the Foti family do for new years. They never disappoint and get better every year. It’s amazing to see and everyone with a boat vies for the best spot on the harbour. There’s barges all along the river and on the harbour. The timing is amazing
It's a really fun event to go to. This was my second time. Just a tip for people wanting to visit and see the show: attend for the atmosphere but the best view is the official video clip. The harbour is large and only one or two spots give you the entire view, while many many others are either partial views or obstructed. So adjust your expectations if planning to visit :-) First time round, I watched from Dawes Point, arriving at 11:30pm (half hour before), and perfect views of the bridge and harbour (videos in my channel). In fact, I could feel the heat off the waterfall fireworks. Second time round, I watched from Mrs Macquaries Point, arriving at 10:30am (thirteen hours before), and the views obstructed by trees. Moments before countdown tourists pushed in front of me and blocked my view with their cameras. Parents put their children on their shoulders. I rushed to another spot not so crowded and started recording. I didn't get to see the countdown but recorded it by raising my camera above the crowds. Another important tip: the better views are from inclines. Like watching at the cinemas, an incline means someone in front of you isn't blocking your view. It was my friend's first time, and we separated when he rushed forward to get a better view. He wasn't happy when he came back and didn't want to talk about it. Just remember, if you attend, be happy with the atmosphere - anything more is a bonus.
As an Aussie somewhat used to this, I was in New York several years ago and fortunate enough to be in Times Square for the ball drop. Well, the ball dropped, and that was it. Well done New York! ;) LOL
Thank you for sharing your video. The Sydney Harbour fireworks is a huge event each year for Sydney. The fireworks are spread out over a massive 7 kilometre span around the Sydney Harbour foreshores and waterways. The fireworks are placed in different locations.. and are operated from barges off the water. The fireworks show runs around 12 to 15 minutes, and blast over 50,000 fireworks across the city.. at a cost of around $7 million. The Foti family have been responsible for the last 3 decades of the Sydney NYE fireworks. They are renowned for their phenomenal pyrotechnic displays.. and their fireworks legacy dates back to the 1700s. Every year the show introduces a different theme. Over a million people line around the foreshore.. as well as over a 1,000 boats in the harbour to watch the display. There are also boats lit up that cruise around the Sydney Harbour throughout the night.. taking part in the “parade of lights” on the harbour.. tour operated for people who want to watch the show from the water. Many travel from around the world to witness it. The most popular locations are The Harbour Bridge and Sydney Opera House precinct.. yet there are many other great vantage points around Sydney where the fireworks can be seen. There are 2 fireworks shows on the night. A show at 9pm.. specifically for families and their children.. then the major show at midnight. The main attraction of the night is the waterfall off the Bridge.❤Happy New Year. 🎉
I really had no idea just how fantastic the Sydney NYE fireworks were/are, even though my parents paid a heap of money to go there and get the best seats a few years ago. That was a fantastic display. Next year they need more drones ;)
You got the abridged version, the full video is about twenty two minutes long and bare in mind that was the second show of the night, the first being about 10 minutes or so long for the kiddies. The editing was good but when you are there everything seems much more co-ordinated and synchronized. A million plus people from all over the world, spread out all over the most beautiful harbour in the world and all feeling and spreading the love. Worth every cent! I certainly want to experience it again. I think guts up on a bobbing boat sipping Champagne and munching on Hors d'oeuvres would be the go.
we have been doing this for many, many years, it is put on by the city of Sydney and the state government people come from all around the world just to see it and its free unless you go to a special ticketed area
We used to have an emoji type thing on the bridge and it was different every year and it was how we brought the new year in was seeing the fireworks and to see what the bridge showed... Like ❤🌸 and stuff...
Any aussies remember the annual Sky Show events in Adelaide? That was around 30 minutes of fireworks and then the partying to the music and the skylights and lasers set to the music too. Fun memories for all ages. I wish they would bring that back. 🎉🎉😊
I'm from Sydney and the fireworks and display goes all the way down the harbour - some are on the bridge, others are on barges in the harbour - almost to Parramatta who then have their own fireworks displays during the night... There are 2 sessions - a 9pm and then a midnight show - it costs about $6 million in fireworks
New Years is a huge tourist boom for Us here in OZ. Thousand of people come to see it from all over the world. It cost millions of dollars and it makes ten times that in tourism. You have Christmas, Summer, Surf, Sun, Beaches, New Years and all this.
We have fireworks display’s celebrating new years in most of our capital city’s. World class pyrotechnic experts put on these shows, usually from multiple barges on the water and from the tops of our skyscrapers for fire safety. They usually go for about 30 minutes and are choreographed to music on local radio stations. We are very fortunate our government pays for these extravaganza’s. This year’s Sydney NYE Fireworks cost $6.3 Million AUD. Happy New Year!
Bit of wrong info there mate , they go for about 15 mins and its only 1 song that was chosen that you will not be listening to on radio and just the fireworks alone cost 6.9 million plus all the other costs involved .
Australian pyrotechnics are the best in the world. The buyers come from all around the world to a tiny country town for a night of fireworks like this in September to showcase their latest fireworks. I was impressed when they were able to fire off love hearts a few years back at the buyers showcase.
Whereas Sydney's New Year Fireworks are mainly featured around the Harbour Bridge, the city of Melbourne spreads them out around the huge city centre, river and port.
There are other NYE celebrations in other suburbs, put on by other councils/clubs, complete with fireworks. I could hear (and partly see) 2 fairly big ones from my place in the 'burbs. This is the Sydney City Council display. There were also fireworks at Darling Harbour at the same time this was going on.
Maybe don’t say around the harbour bridge as Thai area is actually called the darling harbour not just that fireworks were going off everywhere around Sydney just the cameras and drones focused on Thai as its the main event
The focal point is the Harbour bridge. No other Australian city has anything similar and aesthetically pleasing. Seeing fireworks off buildings is great, but off the Harbour Bridge….thats amazing.
@@Buddy89538 The interesting thing is, one of the reasons why JJC Bradfield recommended an arch design was because it would provide a place for celebratory/patriotic symbols to be displayed. The original idea was to build a cantilever bridge, which Bradfield did next with the Story Bridge in Brisbane.
Sydney is blessed with its Harbour, hence has the space for the fireworks, while its shores are full of admirers. Some million and a half staying on its shores, seating, relaxing, or having a barbeque enjoying the event
Until you have actually visited the Sydney Harbour Bridge, you really cannot appreciate the scale of what you just watched. The bridge is 1,149 metres (3,770 feet) in length and 134 meters (440 feet) above sea level. The 2025 fireworks cost over $7 million using 9 tonnes (18,000 lb) of fireworks and over 1 million people were harbour side to watch the show. The theme of this year’s fireworks was Barangaroo; who was an indigenous elder of the Cammeraygal people at the time European colonisation. That projection of a person dancing on the bridge pylons was probably an artistic representation of Barangaroo.
Can confirm, the waterfall of fire is actual fire. I have been next to the bridge when it went off and you can feel the heat from where I was standing. It's only possible because the bridge is, well, a bridge! It pretty much wouldn't be possible otherwise, partially because of the exclusion zone required and partially because our country seems to ignite at he strike of a match. That said, I heard Dubai does something similar. The fireworks are spectacular to see in person. Do recommend if you ever get the chance.
Our New Year's fireworks goes for nearly 15 minutes. Every year it gets bigger and better! I live about 25 KMs from the city, ( Clemton Park) and we have a great view of them from the end of my street. The same family has been doing them for years. They have pontoons all along the harbour, packed with fireworks. It's amazing to watch every single year.
Because Australia is the first country to celebrate new year ( our time is in the first latitude), sydney government spend millions of dollars every year and citizens anticipate such exciting and beautiful fireworks display. Many gather in parks, hotels and apartments around the bridge to witness such fantastic display of Aussie ingenuity. And welcomes the new year.
That's why Sydney is always known as the "one to beat" when it comes to New Years displays. :) If you think that's amazing, search for the Brisbane Riverfire, Perth Skyworks as well as other Sydney New Years eve shows! This show was even a record for Australian standards with 16 firing positions (launch areas) and 9 tons of fireworks! BTW, there was a smaller 9pm show for families as well LOL. :) And, that effect off the bridge is known as a "waterfall" and is always a highlight of any display. It also occurs during Brisbane Rivfire among others. HOnestly though, In my opinion, the London NYE of 2020 - 2023 were world class with narrated story, drones and fireworks synchronized with soundtrack etc.
I am in Adelaide, capitol of South Australia. We cannot beat the Sydney Harbour Bridge as a setting. But every now and again in Elder Park, which is by the Torrens River that runs past the CBD and our Festival Theatre, we put on an outdoor Tchaikovsky concert performed by our Symphony Orchestra. It includes the 1812 Overture. For the 1812 finale, they use real cannons on the nearby Miltary Parade Ground, real bells in the nearby St Peters Cathedral and add fireworks. It's amazing and free. The place gets packed with families. I am hoping they will do it again soon.

you have to be there to realise how fantastic and beautiful it is, the smells and excitement, it's something you will never forget. And we get to experience this every new year.
One million people watching this in person, lining the harbour foreshore. Sydney Harbour most beautiful and largest harbour in the world lined with multi million dollar homes with this view
One of them being Ben Pasternak
The fireworks are electrically connected and controlled by computer. The music from radio stations is synchronised with the fireworks. Here is your official invitation to come and see us all whenever you might like to come.
This is truly Amazing and beautiful! Best fireworks in the World! 🌍 ❤️
Best city, best harbour, best country. We are blessed!
I am a true blue Aussie 78 year lod Granny.I Know how blessed I am to be born in this glorious country...Happiness is Australia.❤❤❤😂😂❤❤❤
I am not a Sydney sider but have lived and worked all over this blessed land..Limestone Coast South OZ now..😊❤😂😊❤😂
More firepower on that bridge than the whole of the Australian Defence Force🤣. Happy New Year everyone. I live 2333 kms North of Sydney but must say I am proud to be an Aussie when I see that. Sydney certainly is a beautiful city, especially around the harbour.
We get this every year in Sydney. Its just the norm for us. 😎👌
Wonderful display of chemistry and physics. Thanks science, and thanks Foti family. Fireworks and coffee, thanks Italian immigrants.
Agree 💯Thanks for the bloody beautiful food too!
Italians do everything better!
I live in Australia and it gets better every year
As a very proud Australian, Sydney's fireworks show is the best in the world.
I've been living in Sydney for 24 years & every year the NYE fireworks are like that, it doesn't surprise me as I'm a local, man!
I was laughing at how frantic it gets. I’m a Sydney born but now rural resident and Sydney loves a flashy party
🎉 yes it’s real mate ❤ Happy New Year friend from Sydney Australia 🇦🇺
The preparation for the 2025 fireworks started in 2023. It took nearly two years of preparation to make this magical event
This Italian family are next level when it comes to fireworks. I hope it always stays in their family
❤😂❤ Whoa really
There’s over 1 million people from all over the world on the foreshore watching this. It goes for 30 minutes . Every Capitol site and every largish town has their own fireworks. That’s our carbon emissions for the whole year right there lmao
Everyone needs to be in Sydney for at least 1 new years. It is always fun, great fireworks shows and then the parties afterwards are freeking great!
The waterfall fireworks off the Harbour bridge is my highlight EVERY year
there are so many vantage points in the suburbs that all the people at home can find a spot in their local area. and the cheers at the end ring around the city
Don't forget it's in the middle of our dry summers, I think that's why they have it over the Sydney harbor Bridge as it's safer over water
Joyful to watch your enjoyment. Happy New Year
I timed our drive that night to be on the bridge for the 9pm fireworks.
A million people line the shores of Sydney Harbour!!!🤺🐊🇦🇺🦘
Oops also, with such Huge crowds, they have Ambo Medics on push bikes & on feet. Basically every major City in 🇦🇺 does this for public safety.
I am from Sydney Australia and yes the fireworks were awesome , we had drones with fireworks....
Bro watch vivid in Sydney every year its a light spectacular honestly the drone show is amazing
IT's REAL!!!! I go see it every year!!!🤺🐊🇦🇺🦘
As an Aussie somewhat used to this, I was in New York several years ago and fortunate enough to be in Times Square for the ball drop. Well, the ball dropped, and that was it. Well done New York! ;) LOL
😂😂❤
Yes that's real, we see it every year!
I live in Sydney yes it is real every year that's how we role
Nothing like seeing it in real life… love your reaction 🎉
I really had no idea just how fantastic the Sydney NYE fireworks were/are, even though my parents paid a heap of money to go there and get the best seats a few years ago. That was a fantastic display. Next year they need more drones ;)
Nah mate, it's fabulously OTT already 😂😂😂❤
@@sampuatisamuel9785 Yeah it really is, but I recon drones will add to it.
Sydney prides itself as Australia does with our fireworks display.. Glad you enjoyed it.
I love your expressions.
we have been doing this for many, many years, it is put on by the city of Sydney and the state government people come from all around the world just to see it and its free unless you go to a special ticketed area
We used to have an emoji type thing on the bridge and it was different every year and it was how we brought the new year in was seeing the fireworks and to see what the bridge showed... Like ❤🌸 and stuff...
Sounds amazing
Eternity was beautiful but the giant disco ball was stunning.
Any aussies remember the annual Sky Show events in Adelaide? That was around 30 minutes of fireworks and then the partying to the music and the skylights and lasers set to the music too. Fun memories for all ages. I wish they would bring that back. 🎉🎉😊
I live in Sydney...It is real, and it happens every single year here mate!
Just did a form! Happy new years from Penrith, Sydney Australia
When we have a fireworks show, we have a fireworks SHOW!
900 Tones of Awesomeness HAPPY NEW YEAR From Sydney Australia🎊🎊🎊🎊🎊🎊🎊🎊🎊🎊🎊🎊🎊🎊🎉🎉🎉 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Happy new year!!
9 tons. only 9 tons of fireworks.
@@glenodMy Bad I still have a hangover😂🤥🤣HAPPY NEW YEAR
Don’t worry, the government got ten-fold due to the fireworks display
@@giobozzreacts that is real it is works they are Pyrotechnician they are all porgamed to llight then all up tt they use computer's great video
Awesome! 1.5 million people pack the Sydney foreshore to watch these every New Years. Go Aussie!
Even in the cities English is a very hard language to learn.
The city of Sydney council pays for the fireworks
Bit of wrong info there mate , they go for about 15 mins and its only 1 song that was chosen that you will not be listening to on radio and just the fireworks alone cost 6.9 million plus all the other costs involved .
@@aussieguy3689 They went on for longer than 15 mins, and yes they cost that, but bring in $280 million in tourism etc, so a good money making event.
Australian pyrotechnics are the best in the world. The buyers come from all around the world to a tiny country town for a night of fireworks like this in September to showcase their latest fireworks. I was impressed when they were able to fire off love hearts a few years back at the buyers showcase.
I heard it, because of the noise i got to see it change from 2024 to 2025
There was another one earlier for the families with young kids who would be asleep at 12.
also, it went around 8 k up the harbour
I saw it on TV a day my mind was blown away....these fireworks people are the best in the world.
@@CheeseStick_ Thai ??? 🤔 nope. Fireworks were centred around the Harbour bridge
Dude you’re reactions are priceless ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Our New Year's fireworks goes for nearly 15 minutes. Every year it gets bigger and better! I live about 25 KMs from the city, ( Clemton Park) and we have a great view of them from the end of my street.
The same family has been doing them for years. They have pontoons all along the harbour, packed with fireworks. It's amazing to watch every single year.
1 million people were on the foreshore around the harbour watching
The Pyrotechnic Engineers who made it possible are an Italian Australian family. And, they have won multiple awards internationally.
14:22 that is a waterfall effect which indicates that the firework show is about to end (i think)
❤❤😂😂 Yes it is
It’s one thing us Aussies do extremely well we love our New Year’s party we love ❤ it
Because Australia is the first country to celebrate new year ( our time is in the first latitude), sydney government spend millions of dollars every year and citizens anticipate such exciting and beautiful fireworks display. Many gather in parks, hotels and apartments around the bridge to witness such fantastic display of Aussie ingenuity. And welcomes the new year.
Australia does this spectacular fireworks each new year.
I LITERLLY stay up new years even to watch this loll
Sometimes they even put the boats in the water and put fireworks on them loll 😂😂😂
SYDNEY AUSTRALIA does it better than anyone else.
It is very mesmerising to watch on TV . Imagine being there in the moment.
Happy New Year!!! From Sydney!!!
My dad and i always called it a firefall 14:10
wait till you hear your tax money goes to a weekly mini fireworks show
